The Spring Season: Guerlain Guerlinade Rouge G Lipstick

Guerlain Guerlinade (01) Rouge G Lipstick ($45.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a creamy, opaque peach-nude with a glossy sheen. I have tried my fair share of Rouge Gs, but this shade in particular really showcases the Rouge G formula to its fullest potential. It’s soft, lightweight, but oh-so-creamy. It delivers incredible full coverage color in a single layer and wears a solid four hours on my lips. Guerlinade may become one of my go-to nudes for smoky eyes. I can’t believe I had never bothered to take a look at it prior to the Spring Season–thank goodness that’s been rectified!

Is this the right nude lipstick for you? Would you wear it?

The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

Yay! Lets hope it arrives quickly!

I have the feeling this is going to look DYNAMITE with DiorKiss Gloss in Mango Soda layered over…

Has anyone else noticed Rouge G’s seem to make your lips look fuller? There’s no tingly feeling or anything but it looks quite noticeable (to me, at least) in pictures – and I have just realized, after 31 years on this Earth, I have a lopsided smile, at least while wearing Gems anyway… fuller but slightly crooked, hah!

I love that the Rouge Gs are so pretty I can wear them alone or make them more intriguing by layering with a gloss.

I think it’s the ultra fine “diamond dust” that’s in it. It’s that very subtle shimmer that reflects light and perhaps gives the illusion of fuller lips. I also think the nearly opaque coverage helps, too!

I’ll swatch 10-15 lipsticks in a row, and every time a Rouge G touches my lips, it’s like, “OH!” because it’s so much nicer to my lips than some other formulas (not to say those formulas are bad, but in comparison!). I think the only lipstick that’s almost more heavenly is Cle de Peau’s Extra Silky Lipsticks, but those are so expensive for what you get!

Hey Christine, sorry for the random question but I have NC30-35 skintone with dark brown colored hair, so I was wondering which MAC e/s would best for filling in my brows, wedge or cork?

Wow i am… i am amazed! This is by far the best shade of peach I have ever seen! I have always been a little weary of guerlain because of the price… But now I see that they are truely the BEST quality lipsticks and are 100% worth it. Thank you christine for helping me discover such fabululous lipsticks.

Christine,

The swatches are great but I wonder if any of those would work on me. I am a nc50 and my lips are a lot darker. Any suggestions would be helpful. I’ve always wanted to wear nudes but felt they would be too pasty on me.

This is my HG nude lipstick! Everything about this lipstick is perfect, from the warm beige/peachy color, the pigmentation and the texture and lasting power. It doesn’t make me look like a corpse who chewed on concealer and this particular shade makes my lips look more pout-y and really really really lush. My BF compliments me whenever I wear this lipstick. The price is a constraint but I really don’t care. LOL
