The Spring Season: Guerlain Galia Rouge G Lipstick

Guerlain Galia (#03) Rouge G Lipstick is a pinked-beige nude lipstick with a creamy, lightly glossy look. It has no real detectable shimmer, but it has this soft sheen that makes it look like you’re almost wearing a gloss but not quite. I found this to be a hard-to-describe color, just because it’s not quite a nude yet it’s not beige nor pink nor peach. It’s like a triple threat combo!  Rouge G lipsticks are soft, creamy, and wear beautifully with a solid four to six hours of wear and always feel lightweight while giving full color coverage.  They are, however, scented with a sweet strawberry-ish scent (more subtle than the typical Guerlain lip color scent, but it’s the same).

Is this the right nude lipstick for you? Would you wear it?

The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

Curses, Christine! When they first came out, I swore I’d never buy any Rouge G and now I’m counting the days till I can hit the counter and eat an entire tube of Greta. Ok, that came out all wrong but whatever, Rouge G will be mine….

Wow…that sure is a beautiful lipstick color! Even more beautiful is the lipstick tube itself. I got curious as to what you get for $45, so I looked online and OMG! The Rouge G’s are packaged such that the lipstick is beautifully integrated with the folding mirror inside the hinged case. It is like a sculpture! I kind of bugged out when I saw the pics – shows you how green I am with high-end products, ha ha.(You always have fantastic photos of the products themselves, but not always the packaging)

That almost makes it worth the luxe price. I may have to treat myself for being good one of these days!

One of my friends is called Galia. For her birthday I got her this lipstick 🙂
This is one of the rare nude colors I actually like and feel suits me !

I just LOVE this lipstick on you!!! To be honest, I haven’t yet met a Rouge G I didn’t at least like a lot though 🙂

christine – is it my imagination or have you been doing a lot more of the spring season lipsticks than you did for the holiday season ones? i LOVE these posts but i’m giggling inside to see the breakdowns once the season is over 🙂

I think there may be a little more, but I might not have been as consistent as I would have liked to have been during the Spring Season, LOL. Like I forget to do it everyday (that is always the goal, one per day!), and as spring winds down (Summer Season starts in April!), I want to make sure I post the ones I already swatched! I think I had about 90 on the plate for Spring Season…

This is such a pretty nude lipstick! You know, I realized today that I actually have no nude lipsticks (LOL…). I think it’s because I have a hard time finding nudes that cover up the natural pigmentation in my lips and doesn’t look like concealer.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how much I’ve been enjoying your “seasons” of lipstick and I totally can’t wait for the end of the season wrap-up when you put all the lipsticks in one category together! It makes comparison shopping SO EASY!! 😀

What a sexy colour. Very beautiful, and it suits you very well. I am often amazed at how different the colour looks before being applied on the skin. Like in the container, it looks a lot more coral, but when applied to your lips, it almost has a wee bit of a brown tinge in, am I right?

I ordered this shade from Sephora after seeing it on your blog, I decided I had to have it. You have reviewed so many pretty colors this season. I have always loved Guerlain lipsticks but I have a hard time finding shades I really love. I hope this looks as nice on me as I found it on you this morning. Thanks again!

Hi Christine,

I have been looking for a perfect pink/nude lipstick. What would you recommend? This looks sooo good, but a bit pricey for me.

Thanks in advance! 🙂

I know it is an old post but I just tested this color and It is really darker on my lips. What are you using on your lips (primer?) before applying your lipstick?

Ania Avatar

Hi,

Please tell me how it is possible that i bought exactly this shade (Galia 03) in Poland and it has a totally different color than it has in your photos:( Mine is much darker and definitely cannot be classified as nude pink/beige. Might it be the case that the same shades are different in each region of sales?
