Thanks for the Flush: Eight Blushes That Make My Life Easier
A Week of Gratitude
Blushing Favorites
It should come as no surprise that I’ve selected two shades of Marc Jacobs’ AirBlush formula (Marc Jacobs’ AirBlush, very neutral and goes with nearly everything might be my most-worn this year). It’s easily followed by Natasha Denona’s Darya palette, and I’ve begged Ms. Denona to release Pink Champagne as a single, because that’s the one shade that’s truly special within the palette (though I use almost all the other shades when I use Pink Champagne).

Marc Jacobs Beauty Flesh & Fantasy (506)
MAC Fairly Precious
Makeup Geek Daybreak
Chanel Jersey (80)
MAC Hushed Tone
Clinique Black Honey Pop
Marc Jacobs Beauty Lush & Libido (500)
I am buying Chanel Jersey ( 80) tomorrow, i think it will work on my NC30 skin tone.
I know you’ll love it, Lily!
And here’s a category where I do not have even one of eight you’ve listed! Out of all of these, the one I could truly see myself enjoying would likely be Darya. It can go warmer or cooler, brighter or more muted, even less shimmery if one wanted.
I’m not wholly surprised – these are very skin-tone dependent for the most part!
This is true. Yet, 4 of these have been hanging out on my redonkulous WL ever since I read the reviews of them here! MUG Daybreak, Clinique Black Honey Pop, MAC Hushed Tone and ND Darya. Why do I keep forgetting to buy them is my biggest question to myself…I’m getting so forgetful!
Its funny because I have a skintone quite different to you Christine (NC05 in MAC Terms) and those two Marc Jacobs Blushes are by far my most used and loved.
I have Flesh and Fantasy! On my skin tone, it’s very bronzy, so I use it as a bronzing blush.
Blush is my favorite makeup and I certainly can’t pick a favorite, but
my two most used are NARS Madly and Impassioned. Madly works for anything warm and Impassioned for anything cool.
What brush do you like using with NARS blushes?
I use a bunch of different brushes for blush, depending on the formula and what effect I want. With the classic Nars powder blushes, I pretty much just use Wayne Goss 14 (original brown bristles). It gives a softer look because it’s got longer bristles and I find the natural hair picks up the powders really nicely, and I’m fair so I don’t need to deposit a ton of product all at once.
I do have the NARS Hot Tryst palette, which I use with a Wayne Goss Air-Brush because it’s small and has shorter bristles so I can pick up more of that hybrid-ish formula, but for the original powder formula it’s the 14 brush all the way.
Blush is my favorite makeup item! It just gives you that innocent, youthful, cute look that I really enjoy haha!
What are some of your go-tos, Noora?
My go-tos have to be: Nars Hot Tryst palette, Charlotte Tilbury Pop Blusher in the shade Love Glow (the most natural blush ever!), and finally my ride or die blush has to be Fenty Beauty Killawatt highlighter in shade Mocow Mule/ginger binge- even though it’s a highlighter I use it as a blush and I blend it all the way to my cheekbones and it always makes me feel fabulous whenever I wear since it’s super shiny!
I have Hushed Tone, I absolutely love it! Got so many compliments when I wear this blush, not on the blush per se, but people say I look so tanned when I wear this. Strange, but whatever, lol. I have & love Darya & absolutely agree about this making Pink Champagne as a single, even though I wear all the other colors in there. Pink Champagne is unique for sure.
I love the color + finish of the Extra Dimension Blushes! So pretty on the skin.
These are all superb blushes, beautiful peachy coral tones, which I like too.
I love the Clarin Prodige blush in Sweet Peach, a heavenly shade.
I haven’t tried a Clarins blush in awhile!!
pink champagne is my favorite too!
Ugh, so gorgeous. Why it isn’t a single is a mystery! I feel like it’s the cooler version of NARS Orgasm in a way!
My favorite step 🙂
My top blushes: MAC Mineralize Blush – Gentle (picked out for me at the store, my first and favorite), MAC – Cheek Pollen (LE), Clinique Cheek Pop – Pansy, NARS – Loves Me Not (LE), NARS – Sexual Content (LE). I am also loving the Clinique Cheek Pop holiday palette with Black Honey!
I sense a preference for warm, plummy neutrals … with a few kickers. 🙂
I don’t own any of these, but Black Honey Pop has been on my “should I or shoudn’t I?” list for a very long time.
Black Honey Pop has a gorgeous sheen to it. I really think satin-to-pearl blushes are underrated in the industry!
When friends ask me for a go to blush, I always send them searching for Flesh and Fantasy. It fits all skin tones and makeup needs ! I don’t have it personally but I’m crazy in love with Night fever & Hot stuff. Such a great line
Ooh, Marc Jacobs Flesh & Fantasy looks like one that I’d love!
My favorite blushes are elf Tickled Pink and Tarte Paaarty. They’re sheer and go on flawlessly. If I get just the tiniest bit of powder on my brush (because it’s too pigmented for me), I also really adore Wet n Wild Pearlescent Pink!
I’ve been lusting over the Darya palette since it came out, but haven’t yet pulled the trigger. I don’t own any of these, but I think they all look like gorgeous blushes.
I have almost all of these listed! My favorite is the MAC fairly precious, MUG Daybreak, and the ND Darya?blush is my most favorite makeup item.
If I had to give away all of my blushes except for one, I would keep Flesh & Fantasy. It’s one of the only high-end products I own that truly lives up to the hype. It looks good on me pretty much no matter what.
I finally picked up Clinique Black Honey Pop, within the holiday Cheek Pop palette. The packaging is just awful, but the price per gram was a big savings and I ended up loving all three shades included.
Wish I’d tried the Cheek Pop formula sooner!
Ugh – I am so torn about Darya! I bought it during Sephora’s 20% off and it’s sitting in my room, having been admired but not touched. I really want to PLAY with it (Pink Champagne, hello) but I’m pretty certain it won’t be practical or very wearable for me. So spendy for a recreational product!
