Temptalia Asks You - Where do you put on your makeup?

Where do you put on your makeup? Bathroom, bedroom? Closet?

.

Bathroom for me 🙂 We have two bathrooms, and we only really use one, so I keep my makeup in the spare bathroom (so no worries about temperature changes, since it isn’t used).

I have a desk in my room with all my makeup and a lamp for good lighting so I use that,
but I kind of want to move to a bathroom, but I don’t have my own bathroom so it’s kind of not an option.
But we are house hunting so if I get my own bathroom I will be ecstatic! lol

I used to use my bathroom but it was too small. So I have a tiny setup in my room with a rug underneath to catch the mess I make at times with loose powders and the occasional dropping of powder products and breaking…happened to my bronzer earlier this month. I have a tiny tv dinner table I use and a desk lamp and a stackable storage thing from Walmart to store my makeup. It’s not ideal but it works fine. The mirror part is the worse. I have a mirror on my wall that I use for eyeliner but otherwise I use a handheld mirror.

My bathroom is really tiny with really unflattering lighting, so I can’t put my make-up on there. Instead I put my make-up on in the kitchen. It has great natural lighting and I can put all my make-up and brushes on the kitchen countertop. Works perfectly !!

my bedroom. So I can face my big window, giving me a good natural lighting. So I always know how it’ll look outside and if it’s not overdone

I used to have a desk in my dining room (hey, its big & has 2 huge windows!)but yesterday I bought a vanity for my bedroom! Yay! Its cute & I’m excited. =D
It has a big mirror & I have a smaller lighted mirror for eyeliner and stuff like that. I still get good natural light in there too.

i do it in the bathroom and i sit on my sink to get closer to the mirror!! my counter space is super super tiny, so i put all of my stuff in those stackable drawer things, although what i tend to use everyday ends up crowded around the sink lol!

i have basically the whole closet in my bathroom for my makeup…i store it in target drawers (7.99 a piece)…i have two of those and they have 3 drawers each…and i have a traincase that i’m using to build up my makeup kit for weddings and stuff…my bathroom has excellent lighting so i use it the most to do my makeup

Oh my…good question. I don’t have enough space for my makeup. I have tried putting it in plastic bins that stack, but I find I will simply reach for what’s on the bathroom counter, rather than what might be perfect.

I wish there were a perfect bathroom fixture for makeup!

Hi Christine, I have a question: What’s the best place to store makeup in the summer? I feel all my liquid foundations and other creams are going to melt. =(

I put my makeup on in the bedroom. The dresser my stuff sits on is not ideal because I’m not facing natural light. Switching my dresser to other end near the window. I have huge windows which brings in a lot of natural light.

i have this walkin closet cum bathroom…it has not used as a bathroom, but as a room/closet. I keep my make up there, but end up doin make up near window on a table….those bathroom lights are pretty deceptive..

Hinahon Avatar

it depends, it’s mainly in the living because i have more natural light there but sometimes I do my makeup in my bedroom
I use my bathroom mainly for shower and then skin care, but not for make up

i have this desk in my room that i converted into a vanity and i put a mirror up. but its a little too high so i use a compact for my mirror for everything else and i use the big mirror for eyeliner. thats pretty much where my makeup is. its not the best set up but it works.

I usually use the powder room downstairs so I’m right out the door afterwards. But this wk I’ve been using my bedroom being as though Ive set up my little vanity area. I gotta move it closer to the window though so I can have better natural light.

My husband went and bought me a 5 drawer plastic rolling thingy. He said that it needed to be organized. He even depotted all my MAC eyeshadows for me and put them in the pallets. 😉

all my makeup is on a vanity table in my bedroom but i have to move to the bathroom sometimes for better lighting or something haha

Bathroom…..I have a closet in there where I keep all my makeup in three Iris storage carts that I purchased at staples – on sale right now for $19 (usually $29 check out page 4 of this weeks ad – also have coupon for $5 off $30 right now – gives a chance to pick up a few more things. I am a sucker for a coupon). The carts are very sturdy and come in three different configurations. I like them so much I just got the third one. I have my makeup organized in bins in the cart by type (lipstick, lipgloss, eyeshadow singles, eyeshadow palettes, eyebrow items, eyeliners, lipliners, etc.) I keep my brushes and other prep items above the carts on shelves that are also in the closet. I like this set up but I really wish I could relocate my makeup to a small room across from my bedroom but I use that room as an office. I really would like a larger house. The downside is I have to go into the closet for everything I want so I do a lot better when I have time to plan.

Actually, they are on my kitchen table! This does not bother anyone because I live alone. One reason for this is that I want to do my makeup in natural light, and I don’t really have space for them anywhere else either.

At the moment, in my bedroom. I have a plastic set of drawers where I store all of my makeup. Then I go to the the front of my house where there is a lot of natural light to check how it looks before I leave. I am moving soon though so I will get my own bathroom to put all of my things, but I’m worried about the humidity fluctuations. So I may just put it in my new room. My new room will have plenty of natural light where I will have near floor to ceiling windows 6 feet across one side and another 2 feet on the wall adjacent to it.

Jadelyn Avatar

In the bathroom, sitting on the counter to get close enough to the mirror. But now my brother has one of those freestanding flip-mirrors with a magnifier on one side, so I may start using the dining room table for the natural light.

SarahT Avatar

In my closet 😉 It is a bit bigger than a normal closet but smaller than a walk-in. I am definitely starting to run out of space for my makeup! I have a mirror and lights – the mirror is attached to a metal pole I thought would be a waste of space, oh the joys of magnets 🙂 It isn’t the greatest as far as natural light, though, so I have to step out of my room to make sure I’m not overdoing it!

I put on my makeup in the bathroom most of the time. However, I keep most of my makeup in my bedroom since there isn’t enough storage space in the bathroom. I always have to pick out what I’m going to use and haul handfuls into the bathroom. It’s such a hassle but my whole apartment faces away from the sun and is blocked even more by trees, so it is super dim in every room. I’m hoping my next place either has a lot of natural light in the bedroom or has plenty of storage space in the bathroom. *dreams*

At my vanity in the bedroom. I have a lighted mirror that has 4 different light settings and two sides to the mirror, one normal and one magnified. I also have two huge windows by the vanity for natural light.

I had a special medicine cabinet that is 10 inches from the ceiling and about a foot above the toilet. It holds the majority of my lipsticks, eye shadows and eye pencils. All of my blushes and powders are in plastic pencil storage drawers on the back of my toilet above some baby phat perfume boxes that hold all of my OPI. I have a separate medicine cabinet for hair stuff and one for perfume. I keep everything organized in plastic drawers, pencil boxes and buckets…I also found some amazing bamboo containers that stack and store odds and end in them.

Emm Avatar

All my makeup is in my bedroom. I took over my desk with plastic drawers from Wal-Mart. Plus I have a traincase for special occasion makeup(ex. glitter). Since it’s by the window I have good lighting though I have a light when I do it at night. My bathroom lighting sucks as well as there isn’t enough room, otherwise I could move it all there.
