Ooh, I love this question. I’m South Indian, with neutral/cool undertones, about NC45-50. I absolutely love Chanel lip definer in Nude, Chanel Rouge Allure in Silhouette and Chanel Glossimer in either Praline or Galactic on top. It produces a really great pinky brown lip on me. For a slightly more bronze-brown look, I really love this one colour by Pupa, topped off with MAC Dazzlelight in Miss Dynamite.

Christine, have you used Pupa or TiGi cosmetics? Pupa is really good quality, and reasonably priced. TiGi shadows are amazing, I have one particular shade called Teal, which always reminds me of you 🙂

That’s a pity! I’m not sure where they’re available in the US, but if you can, go check ’em out. The Teal colour is, imo, so you! It’s absolutely gorgeous, with gold and pink shimmer. I wish you could do a look with it 🙂 I think TiGi is pretty cheap in the US, so it’s definitely worth looking at. Pupa makes the best coloured liners, I picked up a navy blue, forest green and deep purple. They show up wonderfully. I think one of your European readers has asked you about Pupa before. Great stuff, but the name is a bit icky. Sort of, I don’t know, larvae-like?

Definately Mac Lipstick in ‘Hug Me’! I think its quite a popular ‘my lips but better’ colour, a few people mentioned it the last time this question/similar question was posted. The lipgloss I like on top is Mac 3D Lipgloss in ‘In 3D’, it brings out the pink in ‘Hug Me’ really nicely.

Hug Me lipstick is my HG nude, as I said above. But I do prefer to wear that one alone, for some reason. My current FAVE my lips but better combo which i just discovered last week is Rimmel lipstick in Birthday Suit and Bobbi Brown lip shimmer in Nude…LOVE IT. I’m wearing that right now 🙂

HG stands for Holy Grail, or in other words, an item that you can’t live without!! 🙂

I’m still trying to find my HG MLBB lipstick…I can’t really afford to buy MAC products (I’m a broke student!)….does anyone know any good drugstore lippies???

As a pale (NC15) brunette with pigmented lips, I have a few favorites! My fast, no-brainer neutral lip is MAC’s Mon Cherry TLC Stick. It’s this semisheer plummy/brown/rose color that looks like a glossier version of my natural lip shade. (Tragically, it’s looong discontinued; I’m on my 3rd and, given the expiration date, probably final stick. Sigh.) If I want to pale it out a bit, I mix it with Ladygentle TLC Stick. They don’t have many fans, but I’m personally very fond of the lip conditioners in stick form!

I also love Hug Me for a more brownish lip (sometimes paired with Whirl liner and Saplicious gelee), Syrup for a slight mauve (pairs great with Dervish liner!), and for a natural-looking light pink tint I just received Bobbi Brown’s creamy lip color lipstick in Pink Ballet – it’s a great lip to pair with dramatic eyes without going unnaturally pale, and works with many glosses. I like to keep some life in my lips! N3, lined with Whirl and topped with Saplicious, is about as pale as I can stand to go. I’m also very tempted to try Modesty cremesheen…

I also like solo gloss sometimes, especially Ample Pink plushglass or Viva Glam V lipglass for more sparkle.

(Geez, sorry for the essay!)

I am a huge TLC fan as well (they deserved more love!) and Mon Cherry and Malted are my faves.
Laura Mercier has a slim lipstick called Nude which is similar and not discontinued.

I second this. It’s the only lipgloss I’ve purchased a back up for. Perfect MLBB.

Others are Clinique’s Black Honey for a little more berry buy still a very natural – just bitten look.

MAC Viva Glam V and Spirit are also close matches.

I don’t wear BE foundation, but I like their lipstick in Gingersnap. It gives me (NW15/20) a nice peachy glow. It’s a little drying, though.

For MAC, I like Buoy-o-Buoy l/s by itself, and the new Icescape l/g by itself..i just bought a backup 🙂

MAC CB96 (believe it or not) with NARS Striptease lipgloss on it! Also, Benefits good-to-go lipstick with or without Honey Bare tendertone by MAC. I can apply them in the dark with no qualms about it being all over the place. I just realized I love gold sparkles…

I don’t have a “My Lips But Better” lip colour, bc I have red lips…. so I’m always trying to lighten them… concealer, foundation, powder, opaque lipsticks and glosses.. lol Pain in the butt.

I actually use a HSN brand now for my go-to “my lips but better” shade…Your Best Friend in Transforming Champagne. It’s a tinge lighter than my lip color, but it delivers a striking nude look. I surprisingly can’t find a shade that matches my lips exactly, but that shade is the closest so far.

Any nude look, I notice ppl look at me more with nude lips- I dont know why. I have nude color from heatherette but I always forget to apply so I just place a lil foundation on my lips and there- Im off.

MAC Lovelorn… ahhh.. I adoooooore this… so pretty it hurts… with the stark naked blush, it’s simply MAC magic… and if I want an extra special touch, embark eyeshadow will do the trick… no wonder I spend so much in makeup…it’s so pretty!!
