For summer I love shimmer,
but I like satins the most.

My absolutely favourite finish is the Matte2 by MAC. Smooth and very easy to blend.
Matte’s and Satin’s. they seem to work with everything, and come in abetter colour range. and you can add shimmer or glitter to them anyway
Starflash, veluxe pearl, frost, and matte2! I love shimmery eyeshadows but I also love creamy mattes to balance them out. =)
My love is the Matte finish…then Velvet and Satins…but Mattes are my all around fave.

I’m really into mattes right now but I luv the texture of MAC’s matte2 shadows…they’re so buttery! I like some frosts, velvets, and satins. Not all of them are equal. I’m not too big on mineralized shadows or veluxe pearls now…even though I have a ton of them. Go figure! lol

after that, i like them all, except mattes, i don’t really like matte finish, i always like to have a sort of “glow” if not real shimmers
I like a veluxe or a veluxe pearl, starflash is a great finish. I think if you like shimmer those three give nice shimmer without going over the top. Matte finishes are great as well.
Satin, because it’s not to shimmery but the color payoff is amazing! (Think electric eel) They are so smooth!
Definitely mattes and satins.
My favorite one is matte2 by mac, they are the best matte eyeshadows and then satin

I love satins, but you can’t beat a really finely-milled matte for elegance. So pretty!

Matte 2 shadows is my all time favorite! Im not super big on shimmery shadows..then after those i love starflash and veluxe pearls…so buttery and very pigmented so i dont have to cake layes on for color to show!

i definitely love satin finishes & then next up, veluxe pearl finishes. mattes are definitely high up on my list but there are few brands that make a good matte shadow so it has been difficult for me to build my matte collection. the ones i do own are mostly from Mac & i love them especially the matte2.
mattes and satins — I don’t like a lot of glitter…some shimmers are better than others, but in all i prefer mattes and satins. I don’t like frost at all.

I almost always combine a Matte with a Starflash finish or a Matte with a Veluxe Pearl finish. 🙂
I have a question for you guys. I thought it was interesting too combining different finishes (always easier to blend, rather than let’s say combining two veluxe pearls?)…
With a matte/VP combo, is it better to have a VP/Starflash as base?

Satins! Frosty shadows never have enough pigmentation for me, my eyes like, eat color.
I love mattes. Im not a huge fan of shimmery eyeshadows.
I love veluxe pearl so I love the Urban Decay deluxe eyeshadows. I noticed a lot of my shadows are frosts for I like frosts too.
I love Frost best.

Matte or Velvet. I can deal with a little shimmer here and there, but not everyday.
I like satins for the subtle shimmer, and frosts for the no-shimmer sheen. People really shouldn’t be afraid of MAC Frosts because the finish isn’t an over-the-top shimmer; it’s just the shine.

I like MAC’s Veluxe finish but to bad they only have three colours in this finish. It is satiny smooth but looks velvety like mattes and goes on very smooth and buttery. I also really like starflash.

Mattes always look best. More so I’ve noticed since turning 30! But I love satins too. Doesnt mean I don’t occasionally dabble in a little shimmer too.
Frost and veluxe pearl without a doubt. Velvets are so disappointing (talking about Beauty Marked) since you’d think that the sparkles would actually show up) and Satins are just a step up from Matte’s.
I like shimmer eyeshadows, but nothing too frosty or glittery. I just don’t know how to wear mattes, I guess, I need a bit of iridescence, otherwise I feel like the color actually makes my eyes look flatter!
I love them all just depends on the look I am attempting to create. However, my favorite is matte finish that is highly pigmented and no trace of chalkiness.
I prefer matte shadows for everyday, with maybe a touch a of shimmer at the lash line.
On my nights out I go with frosts, shimmers, & mattes.
I like to mix it up & have fun from time to time too 🙂

matte2 are so soft and great for blending, veluxe pearls, and I am new to the starflash ones but am loving those now too. Good question Christine..just don’t ever give us a question where we have to pick just one because that would stump us all LOL.
