Temptalia Asks You - What was the best gift you've ever received?

What was the best gift you’ve ever received? What made it so outsanding — something sentimental, the item itself, what?

For me, while I have received a great many wonderful gifts, I think one of the most sentimental gifts was a sterling silver heart-shaped locket my boyfriend gave me for my birthday/anniversary in 2006. We were in a long-distance relationship, so I used to wear it everyday so I would have him close to my heart. I wear it still, but less often, as we live together, and I know he’s near. 🙂

P.S. — What does everyone have lined up for the weekend? My boyfriend and I are meeting with my parents who are coming into town, and then I’ll be spending the day/afternoon at my parents’ house (um, laundry!).

The first Christmas my SO and I spent together he splurged and got me a super duper gift – that special little blue box 🙂 yep, pearl earrings from the one and only Tiffany’s. I wear them at least once a week and adore them. A truly timeless gift.

I also was bought a car once :)yeppers a brand spankn new car right off the lot, cherry red and leather seats. Prior to that I had never owned a car that cost me more than 1000$, so it was a dream come true having a new car…and it was from someone whom I was only casually dating, the whole relationship lasted less than six months.

Handmade stuff from my son is also priceless 🙂

Forgot to add –
This weekend my SO and I are volunteering at our sons school at the Christmas craft fair. For the past three years we have spent all day Fri, Sat and Sun from 9am until 3pm being the official photography team doing Santa photos for the fair attendants. We shoot about 100 pix’s each day and love every min of it 🙂 Its such a joy trying to make a small child smile or their expression when they get to talk to Santa.

Tonight we watched the town festival of lights parade which is always a huge deal for the city, about 20,000 people attend and there are two hours of floats so its tons of fun. Made hot soy chocolate with pepermint schnapps, bundled up and enjoyed the official first day of the holiday season as far as I am concerned.

The best gift I ever received was a trip to Australia. This was back when I was eighteen and couldn’t really afford a six week vacation in Oz, but my friend took care of the entire trip for me and it was the best time I had in my life.

This weekend is going to be all about catching up with old friends. Watch a movie, have a coffee and hang out doing silly stuff…

A kitten! It was a planned present, but a present all the same. I love my baby Siamese :). This weekend I am trying to complete an essay analysis in Narrative Pysychology.

The best gift I have received so far has been the brand new car my parents gave me for my high school graduation. It’s a 2001 blue Mustang. A friend of theirs drove it to the ceremony. and they surprised me with it right after, so I got to drive it home. =D I’m still driving it. It would be hard for me to get rid of it, even if it does break down. It means a lot to me since my parents have done so much for me.
