Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

If it is an eyeshadow or lipstick shade that i don’t like i first try to mix it with other colors to see if it comes up with any color i like if that doesn’t work out then i give it away to someone who i know would like that shade or eventually throw it away.

I move it from my makeup drawer to a container in the closet where I usually forget about it and then when I eventually clean out my closet I throw all the makeup away 🙂

I try to figure out something I can do with it. The blue eyeshadow that didn’t work for me I sometimes use as an eyeliner. Any lipglosses I don’t like I layer them with other things until I find a color that works for me.

I give it all away. I had way too much stuff at one point and all the liquids were disposed of. The ones that could be sanitized were given to mum/aunts/cousins and I make it a point to keep my stash to a minimum. The only thing I stock up on are LE products.

I usually keep it with me to use on my girls. halloween is a good time to use the generic stuff.
My youngest daughter has dressup parties once a month, and I will use that with some of my pigments to do their faces.

If its an item that I kept the receipt for I will return it. I have a special receipt box that I keep all my MAC receipts in. When I went MAC exclusive I got rid of three plastic bins of make-up, I took it all to the local womens shelfter thrift shop as donations. I wouldn’t buy used make-up but I am certainly not going to pass judgement on someone who would. If someone less fortune than me can use it and needs it, I am all for “reduce, recyle, reuse” instead of filling up the landfills 🙂

Well, I get my mother’s makeup she doesn’t use… The makeup that I don’t use, I give to my best friends… One of my friends doesn’t buy makeup anymore because I give her so much!
