We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Hello,
I wanted to ask you earlier: do you visit Hungary once in a while?
When did you leave? I should have written in Hungarian 🙂
I check the website every day, love it and love make up; I live in Budapest and work as an English and Spanish teacher.

If I use eyeshadow (as for an everyday basis I tend to use eyepencil or maybe a single colour), I use the base, 3 or 4 colours on my lid and a highlighter, so that is 5-6.

On myself, anywhere from 3 to 8. I love a huge range of shades and I also have been using a lot of reflecting glitter with my looks. On others, I could go as far as 10, but I sometimes can take a while on certain people because I’m a perfectionist (terrible trait XD).

I usually use between 3-5 shades, as well as a paint pot base. I tend to use one colour on my lid, one on crease and one to highlight. Sometimes, I also use one in the inner corner and a darker colour in the outer v. If I’m using a bright coloured liquid eyeliner, then I might limit it to 2 eyeshadows, just to keep the look simple.

3 or 4 on average. I am in awe of your use of color, though. Sometimes when I go through your tutorials I can’t keep up because of all the colors used.

Half the time it’s 3 lid, crease, highlighter. The other half it’s either a lot more or just 1, like today, then I layer on the mascara =)

I normally use three, but I use about 2-4 on average. I’ve never used more than 4 because I don’t have enough colors that are similar enough to blend together nicely.

KaylaK Avatar

I usually do 3, but sometimes 4 just because it depends on the base color. But if I have the time or if I am preparing to go out for an occasion I will mix it up and use a LOT of colors.

On average, 3 or 4. I occasionally use just one (if I’m in a rush or need really understated eye makeup), and as many as 9 or 10 (a rainbow look). But most days it’s a happy medium.

base (always, always mac painterly) plus at least two. up to four or five if i have time / inclination…

caveat… except sometimes with a metallic one, like some of the shu uemuras really look better just by themselves in a big dramatic block.)

Oops! This amount does not include liners, pencils and mascara (bc I use a lot of colored mascara; blue, indigo, purple, silver, red, blue, etc) to complement my looks. It sounds like a lot but it all comes together nicely :-0

My works-for-day-and-night look is a chocolate smokey eye. After I apply my Maybelline Cover Stick and Physician’s Formula Loose Mineral Wear powder with the Loreal Bare Minerale brush, I use bare canvas paint for an eye base. I use the white shade from the light purples, brown and white CG eye enhancers quad for a highlight/allover color, and Chocolate the body shop shimmer eye color as a middle-to-outer lid color, and the black-brown frosty shade from the MAC sweet liason suite array duo in the crease and on the outer lid. Then I appy MAC powerpoint eye pencil in engraved on the upper and lower lash lines 3/4 of the way making it thicker as I get closer to the outer eye, smudge it with the black-brown Sweet Liason shade, and apply black mascara x. I color my eyebrows with Dark Brown maybelline expert eyes liner/brow pencil then fill in with a little Chocolate body shop shadow. Then I finish with either a red stain when I’m going for a more dramatic look or a light pink gloss on the lips.
Sorry I gave you a whole look when all you wants was a sentence answer to this post but I really wanted to share my everyday look! 😉 I pretty much do this every single day, and when I wanna kich it up a notch for nighttime, I just add a little frosty silver shadow for a highlight and a little black shadow to darken my crease/outer lid color. Touch up your blush and lipcolor just a bit and you’re ready to go!

Normally about 3 – 5 sometimes i’ll go up to 9.. Don’t think I’ve ever used any more than 9 any given time – then again, some times I’ll use two – three colours as bases.
The amount of time I have to do my make up or the look i’m trying to achieve will determine this.

Depends..day to day usually no more than 2 (usually I do only one). If I’m going out at night I’ll usually plan something with 5 or 6 colors and end up using 3 or 4 (usually a shadow for lining, 2 more for the lid with the liner shadow and a forth for a highlight liner).

usually anywhere from 2-4 in an average daily look. How are people putting 7 to 9 shadows on? i am not sure if i could handle it… it would take me forever trying to do that. I give you props, people!
