Temptalia Asks You - How long does it take you to put on your makeup (on average)?

How long does it take you to put on your makeup (on average)? Are you a five minutes or less kind of person? An hour?

.

From start to finish, probably twenty minutes if I’m doing anything I haven’t done before.

15 mins if I’m just doing the same normal routine: foundation, setting powder, blush, eyeshadow, mascara.

But if I’m doing a more detailed eye look like lid colour, crease colour, inner corner highlight, and eyeliner, it will probably take me around 20-25 mins.

Let’s just say my parents are never to happy when they know I have to get ready and require to shower before hand.

In the morning, 45-60 minutes depending of how much I’ve snoozed in bed.
For a party, 2 hours atleast, depending of how much time and effort I’ve got :>

depends on what i am doing, my avrege timing is about 20 minutes. It takes me longer than the usual if i am trying out new look, and it takes me less if i am just wering tinted moisturiser, an eyeliner and a lipgloss

Avery Avatar

I’ve got it down to four minutes and forty five seconds (yes I’ve timed it!)
I just do quick foundation, some blush and a setting powder. Oh and mascara.

Pobeda Avatar

From zero clean face to fully completed look (with foundation, e/s and all) 20minutes and up. 🙂

Can’t do it any quicker, because it’s about the quality of application.

From start to finish, it takes me about 35-40 minutes, depending on the look I’m going for that day. It’s getting a little faster, but I enjoy taking my time because pampering oneself is a good thing!

15-20 minutes for when I’m going to work. Longer for when I’m going out somewhere special and maybe only 5 minutes for weekends at home.

Ada Avatar

10-15 minutes if it’s a workday. Less time if I hear the toddler coming into the bathroom: he likes to play with the makeup so I try to finish quickly and put it away. He does have his own blush and brush if he’s stubborn about doing his face.

Anja Avatar

Around 20 minutes, depending on how much time I have. I really enjoy the ritual of applying makeup, so if I have enough time I dawdle and take longer than I really need to.

For work: 20-30 mins…for a night out complete w/falsies: 1 hour ‘cos I like to take my time and make sure my makeup lasts the whole night! =)

about 30-45 I’m a perfectionist and will sometimes start all over with something that could have been fixed with a q-tip. I’m getting better about this though. lol

Makeupholism Avatar

30 minutes… just getting the face right takes me like 15-20 minutes (moisturizer, primers, correctors, foundation, etc)… If I had 45 minutes that would be perfect. But I usually have to run.

Chica Avatar

If I’ve slept in 5 mins to cover the essentials – blush, eyebrow powder and mascara! If I have the time usually 20-25 mins before work.
For a night out/party (especially fancy dress) anything up to an hour and a half.

Chiara Avatar

15 min if I go for a basic look: full face (foundation, powder, bronzer/blush), 2 eye shadows (one on the lid, one as highlight), eyeliner and mascara for eyes, lipgloss/lipstick.
More if I go for something more elaborate.

Bettina Avatar

I like to be able to have 20-30 minutes to play with my face in the morning but if I only have ten so be it, I can look decent in that amount of time.

Karli Avatar

I’m a horrible perfectionist and I really like to take my time. So usually, about 2 hours.
But then again, I wear about as much makeup as the average drag queen.

Regular Morning Routine:
Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer
MAC paint pot in “Soft Ochre”
MAC Teddy Eye kohl
Stila Kitten
Some C.O Bigelow Rose Salve or Burt’s Bee’s lip shimmer in Rhubarb

I’m a junior in high school and I usually don’t have a
lot of time in the morning so I take around 5-6 minutes in the morning. The application of everything doesn’t look perfect but I like to keep things simple.

Rio Avatar

Probably around 10 minutes. I like doing crazy color combos on my eyes, but it doesnt take particularly long to do, because I never wear foundation or lipstick.

amy Avatar

It depends on what I am doing, usually it takes about 20 mins, but I am trying to bring it down to 10-15 minutes. If I am doing an evening look with lots of blending and more colours it could be around 30 to 45 mins.

Catherine Avatar

For my regular everyday face, it usually takes me about 15 minutes, give or take 2 or 3 depending on the humidity and therefore how long it takes for my sunscreen and primer to sink in and dry. Everything else Ive got down pat in about 12 (undereye concealer, mineral foundation, eye primer, brow powder, 2nd eye primer, blush, eyeshadows, liner, mascara, highlighter). Then I usually grab a lipstick and throw it in my purse before grabbing breakfast on my way out the door.

If Im going out, depending on how much time I have, I will probably take an extra 10 minutes or so to really perfect my blush eyeshadows. And maybe try on a few different lipsticks to find the perfect one.

I did, however, once, get showered, dressed, made up and out the door in 17 minutes flat (no shadow though, just Painterly). I still am not quite sure how I managed it!

Jaclyn Avatar

i’m always pressed for time on school days, so i keep makeup to a minimum and it takes about 10 minutes. if i have some extra time in the morning or when i’m going out on the weekend and want to do a nice eyeshadow look it usually takes me about 25 or 30 minutes.

Ashley Avatar

Anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 and a half hours haha.
I’m a perfectionist, so if something doesn’t look right, I will spend as much time making it perfect as I can.
When doing a simple look, like an all over shadow colour and another colour in the crease, it can take about 20 minutes to do.

I don’t wear face makeup, so when I used to it took longer.
It really depends on what I’m going for. Something I’ve done before takes less time, maybe 30-40 minutes, and something I’ve never done that requires many combinations of eyeshadow can take longer than an hour. I love using a lot of eyeshadow, sometimes more than 10 shadows at a time.

Liz Avatar

10 minutes, sometimes less.

I don’t do foundation, just spot concealer where needed. Blush depends on time of year, since I have plenty of color in my face anyway in the summer. Eyes are straightforward & simple: mascara, pencil liner on the lower waterline, and usually one color of shadow as a wash on the lid. The one thing that takes the longest is the mascara, because I’m picky about declumping.
