Tarte Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette V2 Review, Photos, Swatches
Tarte Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette V2
Tarte Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette V2 ($38.00 for 1.12 oz.) includes sixteen, full-sized eyeshadows in various earthy hues ranging from beige to plum to deep bronze. Each eyeshadow is 0.07 oz., which is a bit larger than the average full-sized eyeshadow (typically 0.05 oz.). Tarte has a few refills sold for $17/0.06 oz., which would make the value of this palette $317.33. Fifteen of the sixteen were really nice with only one being more of a miss. A lot of the colors are more dupable than not, and the palette runs warm-toned with a fair amount of shimmer, though I felt like there was a decent variety of matte, satin/pearl, and frost.
Update: Sephora is now listing this as “V1.” I’m not sure why it’s changed. It was listed as V2 when I initially posted about it (a week or so ago), and it was listed as V2 last night. The link I grabbed from Sephora last night has “V2” at the end of it. The link still works but redirects to -V1 at the end. On the product listing, it was changed to V1 when I looked at ~8AM PST. I emailed Tarte to try to find out what’s going on.
Fingerpaint Art is described as a “plum.” It’s a medium-dark, plummy purple with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had great color payoff, and the texture was soft, smooth and blendable. It wore well for nine hours before creasing slightly. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Copper Kettle is described as a “copper.” It’s a muted, medium-dark copper-brown with a frosted sheen. It had excellent pigmentation with a buttery, smooth consistency that lasted for nine hours before fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Silk Robe is described as a “mauve.” It’s a medium-dark, plum-tinged brown with a pearly sheen and warm undertones. It had good color payoff that applied smoothly and evenly. I noticed slight fading after eight and a half hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Golden Locket is described as an “antique gold.” It’s a light-medium, muted yellow gold with a metallic sheen. It had good pigmentation and had a buttery, smooth texture that was easy to work with. The color stayed on well for nine hours before creasing. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Chocolate Kisses is described as a “chocolate.” It’s a dark brown with warm, yellowed undertones and a satin-matte finish. It had nice color payoff that had a soft, smooth texture that wasn’t powdery, yet it was still blendable. It showed signs of fading after eight hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Handpicked Flowers is described as a “golden pink.” It’s a light-medium, warm-toned pink with a golden frosted shimmer. It had fairly good pigmentation, and the texture was soft and blendable–just a smidgen powdery. It wore well for eight hours before creasing. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Mud Mask is described as a “tan.” It’s a medium, warm-toned taupe with a semi-matte finish. It had good color payoff, and the texture was soft, blendable, and only a touch powdery. It started to fade after eight hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
French Manicure is described as a “soft peach.” It’s a very light, pink-beige with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nice pigmentation, though the texture was more noticeably powdery here, though it was still blendable and still wore well for eight hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Fresh Brewed Coffee is described as a “rich brown.” It’s a medium-dark brown with warm, reddish undertones and a satin finish. It had fairly good color payoff, and the texture was soft, blendable, and just a touch powdery. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Keepsake Frame is described as a “bronze.” It’s a medium, golden brown with warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had really good pigmentation, and the texture was soft, blendable, and easy to apply. The color showed signs of fading after eight and a half hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Lavender Bubble Bath is described as a “blackened plum.” It’s a blackened purple with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had great color payoff, and the texture was soft, smooth, and blendable. It wore well for nine hours before fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Cashmere Scarf is described as a “smoky taupe.” It’s a dark, warm-toned taupe with a yellow undertone and a soft, frosted finish. It was intensely pigmented, and it had a really smooth, buttery consistency that applied beautifully on the skin. It lasted for nine hours before creasing slightly. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Candlelit Dinner is described as a “rose gold.” It’s a brightened, medium copper with a frosted, metallic finish. It had excellent color payoff with a lovely, buttery feel. The color wore well for nine hours before creasing. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Rose Champagne is described as a “champagne pink.” It’s a light-medium, peacy with warm, orange undertones and a frosted finish. It had great pigmentation, and the texture was soft and fairly smooth, though just a touch powdery. I noticed slight fading after eight and a half hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Hot Stone Massage is described as a “gray.” It’s a medium-dark brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-sheer color payoff, and it had a more powdery texture–this was the only real miss in the palette. The color lasted for seven and a half hours before fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Breakfast in Bed is described as a “beige.” It’s a muted, light beige with warm, yellow undertones and a matte finish. It had nice pigmentation and was very blendable and finely-milled, though a bit powdery. It started to fade after eight hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The color swatches are nice, but for whatever reason, I can never get excited about Tarte eyeshadows. The packaging of the product really turns me off. I don’t like the squares with the Tarte imprint. I hate excessive branding like that.
Sorry to hear that, Marissa!
I have to agree with you. I never could put my finger on what turn me off about Tarte, but I think you hit the nail in the head… packaging. Dunno why, but it’s just not my cup of tea either.
I feel exactly the same way. There IS something about them that puts me off. For me, I think it’s also the excessive use of the term “amazonian clay” which just makes me think of something really dry and powdery that I don’t want to use.
You are so right about the “Amazonian Clay” I also feel like it would be dry and powdery, this product is my first ever tarte product-aside from random samples you get from sephora online- so I hope it is entirely the opposite!
I really love this palette <3! The only reason that I don't think I'm going to buy it, is because I already have too many eyeshadow palettes…
I hear ya! It’s nothing ground-breaking in terms of colors, though well-done.
Ooooh, this looks like such an interesting palette! It looks like a great neutral palette – and you can never have enough of those, lol 🙂
I love your eye looks! So pretty and everyday work appropriate 🙂
Thanks so much, Aditi! 🙂
Oh I’m so glad to see this palette performed well! Mine is en route to me from Sephora and I’ve been looking forward to receiving it. Now I’m even more excited for it to arrive! .07oz is a lot of product! That’s awesome.
Hot Stone Massage looks pretty dreadful, but it’s probably the color I would use the least of all of them.
Fingers crossed you love yours!
It doesn’t adhere well to the skin – something about the binding ingredients is off, I guess – but if you use a primer and put it in the crease, it should be OK.
Yeah, it seemed like it was very patchy and uneven. It’s definitely my least favorite color in the entire palette anyway so I suppose that works out. I’m excited to get this!! I need another neutral palette like I need a hole in the head, but I still can never resist… 🙂
Wow this palette is unexpectedly strong isn’t it? I normally only pay much attention to Tarte’s brow products (at least since the True Blood collection). I might pick this up, these colors are my jam. Thanks C!
I’m not usually a huge fan of Tarte’s eyeshadows (some are really nice, some are too powdery for me), but I really liked this palette for its quality/price/value!
They were better way back before amazonian clay, they were like 3 inch square magnetic fold out quads like a harmonica .. Clasped closed.. Charmed every time. Surprisingly. I have both that came out them and bought a bunch later I still have to touch but this one is too beautiful for me to ignore without strong dupe observations around my makeup.. Hehe 😉 <3
Glad this has rated so well but I’m not sure if I’d buy it…I find that I really don’t use my larger palettes as much as perhaps I should but they’re just not practical for me…I’m looking more for compact and space saving, which is why the newer Naked Basics (2) appeals to me and, quality issues aside, why I prefer the old Stila palettes to these new ones. But, having said that, I wish Tarte would make this permanent. They seem to have very few eyeshadows in their permanent line and this would be a great one to keep around (I’m guessing that this is LE; if I’m wrong, I’ll be very happy!)
The way Tarte has their refills is odd – there aren’t many and such a downplayed option (I don’t think they’re avialable at Sephora? I thought they stopped doing refills since I didn’t find them on Sephora when I was trying to calculate value… luckily, I figured I’d double-check their website–lo and behold, there they were!).
It seems they’re phasing out the refills, and I haven’t been able to find the 10-pan palettes lately, and I’ve been trying to track down NeutralEyes II for the past couple of months. It seems all the more recent palettes have all been LE.
This looks lovely! And what a great price point – a bit more manageable than a Naked palette or even a LORAC Pro, for someone maybe looking to kickstart their neutral collection. And what a nice change, I’m sure, to review some eyeshadows that performed really well after the fiasco of the Stila palettes!
Haha! Yes, it is always a, “Ahh, yes, this is what a great eyeshadow is like.” No fuss, no muss. A great eyeshadow will apply smoothly, evenly and have good pigmentation on the lid without primer – wear, as usual, is the greatest variant, so I don’t object to primer in general, just the idea that you MUST use it to make up for a poor quality product. 😉
Wow! Such a value on these! I have some tarte shadows and they are not the best I have seen, but this seems really nice overall. I was after a cheap neutral palette (like the lorac skinny palatte I’ve missed), this is not that cheap looking at the price tag, but for the value and quality I might just get it!
I don’t usually love Tarte’s eyeshadows (some are nice, some are powdery), but these felt different to me for the most part — much smoother and more buttery, less powdery.
Hmm I just realized lorac pro palette is only 4 dollars more…
Christine, Would you say this one is the better choice since it has more than the double amount of product (I believe each pan is 0.03oz in lorac pro) or lorac pro makes up the difference because of higher quality?
LORAC Pro doesn’t run as warm-toned – it’s probably a more versatile palette, because it also has a really good light to dark spectrum of shades.
I would go through and maybe tally up how many shades you would use. Look at both and see how many looks you can come up with. For me, I love bronze and gold and things like that, so I’d probably wear this combo of colors more than LORAC Pro myself – but that’s based on my personal preferences + coloring!
Note to Stlia: if you’re going to introduce a new warm neutral-tone palette this late in the game, this is how you do it! Good quality and great value! Still not for me, but what a deal for those who like these kind of palettes!
Yes – it is a great option for someone who is looking for a warm-toned, neutral palette!
Ugh, it’s so beautiful and I want it. But, I know I don’t need it. I tend to get overwhelmed with big palettes like this and have a hard time getting use out of all the colors. I love the Tarte Christmas palette that I got in 2012 I think (maybe 2011), but I only use two out of its six quads. Anyway, I think this is a pretty good deal–16 large shadows for $38. I’ll think about it.
Tarte does some pretty massive palettes, so I can see why you would get overwhelmed by them! This one seems a bit more manageable (four quads vs. six!). I noticed that the colors seemed to really blend and complement each other well since they’re all neutrals.
Christine, you’re not dissuading me! Lol. Can I ask, do any of the shades have chunkier glitter in them? It doesn’t seem so by your description and swatches, but thought I’d ask. The only formula I don’t like in my Tarte palette are the shades that are sheer with big pieces of glitter–they don’t go on smooth and there’s fall out.
Nope, no glitter! It’s pretty much just a mix of frosts and mattes – with the frosts ranging from a softer, more pearly finish to a more high-shine, frosted/metallic finish. Hot Stone Massage was the only problematic shade for me since it was powdery and the color didn’t bind together (wouldn’t really STICK to bare skin), but it would probably be all right over a primer (salvageable).
Thank you so much for your thoroughness!!
They certainly came up with some fun names for these shades!
It seems like they had fun doing so!
I was going to buy either Naked 2 or Naked 3, but EL OH EL I’m totally going to buy this instead. Almost twice as much eyeshadow for $16 less, AND they’re great quality AND it’s more of a color range I’m interested in AND I like the packaging better? Aw yeah, get in my shopping basket.
Any idea when this launches, Christine?
Hi Liz,
It’s available on Sephora now!
aaahh, is it Sephora exclusive? 🙁
Tarte didn’t say so, and it is available (but part of a larger set at $61) on QVC.
Whhhhhyyyyy did this have to be so GOOD?!?!?! *wails*
I do not need this. I do not need this. I DO NOT NEED THIS.
*repeats mantra to self*
I know you have dupes! You can resist!
Oh yay! I purchased this set for my sister as a “welcome to makeup” palette but I wasn’t sure how the shadows performed. Since it’s a gift I couldn’t swatch them (so hard to resist!) but now I know they’re good. Thanks for the review and the eye looks are fantastic!! I might have to get this palette for myself 😉
It’s a nice gift! 🙂 Hope she loves it!
Yaaay I was waiting to read the review of this one. Loved the colours wasnt sure how they performed. SO happy that it got an A.
Me too! 🙂
Ugh I am so over the neutral EVERYTHING right now. These neutral collections are so blah to me.
I understand!
Me too! I will skip it. I need something more of a cool toned shades, I am so upset i missed tarte’s matteficient palette, cuz I was traveling out of the country
Great value, but very dupable. Would be great for someone staring their collection, or that doesn’t already own TONS of neutrals!
Yep, exactly!
Tarte’s value is always amazing.
This is true!
What an amazing palette Christine, everyday I fall in love more and more with tarte, my favorite used to be mac , but for the past 2 years I have skipped many mac collections because everything seems to be repeated. Tarte has amazing blushes, well at least the original ones, and they are kinder on the skin. Thanks Christine for keeping us updated.
I bet Tarte is cheaper in the long-run, lol!
Hi. I love your posting. Anyway do you know where can I buy this product? I love this product and I want to buy it right now, but at “Tarte” website, I can’t find it.
It’s available at Sephora!
Thanks for doing this review! My daughter and her friends have been eyeing this palette…and sometimes (for me) picking between all the neutral palettes is just overwhelming (there are so, so many…). She has cool undertones. Would you recommend this (my coloring is very different from hers so I’m learning….) for her?
Does she ever wear warmer colors? Does she nick any of your warmer-toned palettes?
Cool can wear warm, but a better mix of warm/neutral/cool shades might be better for someone with distinct cool undertones!
Thanks! She nicks lots of things…including palettes. But she is distinctly cool and I was thinking naked basics 2 for her. It might be a little light for me…but she’s still at the super neutral/natural early stages of wearing makeup and it seems more tone appropriate.
Thanks!
Pretty palette though!
I think that’s a great idea! 🙂
Uuuuhhhhh! I have like 200 dollars to cash at Ulta and have been saving it to get something that I might really like. I think this is one of those things. Seem really impressive. Not a fan of the packaging, though, but that is not so important.
I think it may only be available at Sephora, though it doesn’t *say* exclusive, I haven’t seen it anywhere else. I know that it’s online only, at least.
It’s available on QVC as well. It was the 2nd part of Tarte’s Bow ‘n Go set that was released in April of this year. I’ve had it for months and still can’t bring myself to use it.
🙂
Yup, it’s on QVC as well, but you have to buy the whole set, not just the palette 🙂
It’s available on it’s own for $39, or you can bu the whole set with lip colors and mascara’s for $61. Clearly, the set is an awesome deal!
🙂
Assuming you want the other products, sure! 🙂 Just depends on what you’re looking for. QVC’s shipping is also a bit of a ding (at least in my experience).
This is beautiful! I don’t know why.. I’m hesitant with Tarte palettes. A friend kindly gave me a Tarte palette years ago (it had eyeshadows, eyeliners, lipglosses, and cheek products in it), but I was NOT thrilled with the quality at all. I’m weird with palettes, too… I felt like it was too many products or something.
It’s nice to see the quality of this palette and that it’s a comfortable size. Do you think this is worth it, though, if I already have Urban Decay Naked 1?
Thanks, Christine 🙂
I think so – I think this has a few more mid-tone shades, as well as satin/mattes (plus the plummier shades). It would also work well with N1 if you wanted to combine the two.
What didn’t you like about the Tarte palettes? In general, some eyeshadows I’ve used by Tarte in the past have been too powdery, but these were very nice. There’s a certain level of powderiness that is tolerable, particularly with say more matte finishes, that makes the formula more blendable, but it’s a fine line (and great mattes can be done with little to no powderiness, too).
Thanks for the awesome response. This was the palette: http://www.musingsofamuse.com/2007/10/tarte-we-wish-you-wealth-palette.html
I found the eyeshadows too powdery and not as pigmented as I’d like. The staying power wasn’t great, either. The other products weren’t worth it, to me. The glosses were fine, but the other products seemed poorer quality.
Now, that’s the only one I’ve tried, so I’d love to experiment and try out a new palette :D. I love the colour pairings you did in the pictures above, so this is a very likely purchase for me 🙂
Since that’s from 2007 and now it’s 7 years later, I would say it’s worth trying (especially since I’ve tested it and wouldn’t call it powdery or under-pigmented! it also wore longer than average for me).
I had that palette too! I never really liked it either. Gave it away.
Thinking about getting this one..but isn’t this the Limited Edition Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette V1 and not V2 ??? The same colors are listed on Sephora as the V1 or is Sephora wrong
Sephora literally just changed it between 9PM last night and 8AM this morning. I don’t know why. Like there’s no name on the palette itself, and every blogger who posted about it arriving has it as V2 (as do I).
My link, which I grabbed from Sephora yesterday, has V2 in the actual link – and the link is still working, it just redirects to V1… No idea what’s going on.
ok 🙂 I was thinking Tarte released 2 palettes until I looked at the color names. still a nice palette and got great reviews from you. BTW thanks for saving me some money on the Stila palette. I was going to order off of Sephora and check it out and well it got quickly deleted from my shopping cart.
No problem! 🙂 Totally understand you double-checking. I’ve added a note to the post as well!
Hope you love this palette!
now THAT’S a stunning neutral palette 😛 after that horrible one from Stila, i think this was much needed for some redemption, haha!
Haha!
I just ordered mine from Sephora and can’t wait to try it out for myself. Did you mean to say it was V2 though? Because I bought V1 and all the colors are the same.
Hi August,
It was listed as V2 for the past week – from the first time I posted about it (announcing it being available) to last night when I pulled the link and info. My link even has V2 in it, but it is redirecting to V1.
Stunning on you!
Thank you so much for these reviews and swatches. Now I can give this gift to Dear Daughter with great confidence.
They might be too warm for me though, NW20-25 blue eyes. What do you think?
I am happy for you that this palette overrides the fails of the uh, hum “S” ones.
It might work with all of the coppery tones 🙂
I need another copper shade that I need another bronze one!! Have to stay away from those two, but I love them!!
She’s seen it now and loves it!! Mom is good at picking out her makeup and she is good at picking out mine. And sometimes we can each wear the same thing, but she’s got very pale neutral-leaning skin and I am in that NW20-25 range that has a lot of options.
I said I was bored when I saw this. Now seeing the pigmentation I’m intrigued. But I probably have enough palettes to not need to do this… Although the price is sort of great.
I’m sure you have dupes 🙂
Oh boy, these are all my favorite eyeshadow colors. I probably have a million dupes of each, but the fact that they’re all in one place is pretty convenient. On the other hand, I’m not good about using my big palettes. Decisions, decisions! So beautiful though! Thanks, Christine!
No problem, Pteetsa! Good luck making that decision!
*sigh* i need yet ANOTHER neutrals palette like…you guessed it, a hole in the head, but dang it, i have lately been falling in love with more and more tarte products. recently switched to their amazonian clay 12 hour full coverage foundation…LOVE it. love their liners, their blushes…ugh. good thing i mostly wear neutral shadows and rarely wear bold colors, but i really need to start using up some of my older palettes before i buy another. (oh who am I kidding?!)
I will be curious to see if you are able to resist this, Amy!
spoiler alert: i won’t be able to. it’s already part of a haul i’m planning for next friday. ;] as much as i’d love to splurge on the tom ford fall shadow palette, i know i’ll feel less guilty about the hit to my wallet going with this one instead. priorities. =]
LOL! SPOILER ALERT, indeed! 😉
ENJOY, enjoy, Amy.
I’m certain I will. In the meantime I finally got around to signing up for an account here. I spend far too much time here and buy way too many products based on your reviews and recommendations to have taken so long to do so. =]
Thank you for joining! Hope you enjoy some of the extra features 🙂
Nice palette, but definitely too warm toned for me. I never buy palettes because they’re pretty much almost always warm toned and fairly neutral. I see the wisdom in making them so, but I just wish there was something a little more neutral to cool.
I wish they’d do more cool-toned palettes!
I’m sorry is this is a repeated question, Christine! — Are there plans to put this in stores later on, or will it only be available online during its ‘limited’ run?
Tarte said it was online only!
Do you know when this will hit stores?
Hi Ayesha,
This is online only!
This is a nice palette for a good price, if I needed another neutral palette I would definitely get it..lol.
LOL! I totally understand!
I bought this the day you posted the preview and I normally don’t buy anything without your review – but I did and I don’t regret it! I got mine yesterday and it’s beautiful, and this review confirms it was $40 well spent 🙂
YAY! Thrilled you’re loving yours, Crystal!
It’s a neutral palette released by a mainstream brand. Did you even need to specify that it’s warm toned? 😛
I really like the look of Tarte’s newer palettes. They haven’t released anything yet that really grabs me, but I’ll be keeping an eye on future releases. I really like the style of their palettes and the color combos.
It’s funny – when I saw the promo, I was like, “Well, that might be the warmest palette of all time,” and in person, it’s not AS warm as the promo but totally warm-toned. Not even an ounce of cool.
So pretty, and I love the names!
It is a lovely palette!
The shimmer and metallic shades are quite nice, but the matte ones look a bit dry.
I definitely wouldn’t say they’re dry from using it 🙂
I like all of these shades and I’m impressed with the formulas, but I don’t think it’s something I’d reach for often. I get overwhelmed when there’s too many shades in one palette, and it’s hard for me to get past how they’re grouped. I prefer having ~6 shades in a palette.
If I was just starting out with makeup, though, this would be one fantastic palette to have. It seems like a very good deal for the price.
It’s a great deal for sure!
The swatches look very nice! I like the color scheme and the quality seems to be there but I have so many palettes. I wish it came out sooner lol
LOL! I hear ya. It’s lovely but dupable!
Your eye looks are really pretty!
Hey Stila, this is how to do an eyesadow palette.. far less expensive and far better quality. Smoke dat!
Thank you, Wendy 🙂
This looks like it would be an awesome neutral palette for someone who doesn’t already have a bunch of neutral palettes… But as someone who already has too many neutral palettes, I’m going to pass.
Agreed!
i don’t need another neutral palette, i don’t need another neutral palette… but how i do want it!
You can resist!!
Greetings from Marblehead, accent on the second syllable, …meaning i’m just dumb. Do V1 + V2 mean versions one + two? That almost implies one for Sephora + one for Ulta, like the summer too faced palettes. Or else, what does the V signify?
I did have one fairly good idea, though, i’m going to start…and backdate a few… a list of my dupes, for new offerings, like for the new Tisse quads, which will help pull together some looks i might not have thought of…. might start with this one. i’m getting pretty neutral heavy for a color oriented person.
I think it may have been to signify that this is the second palette Tarte’s released in the series – this palette is part of the QVC Bow & Go 2nd set (the set includes more than this palette), and there was a first Bow & Go set last year that also had a palette, so that’s why V2 made sense. I don’t know why Sephora changed it to V1 at all. They should just use names. Numbers are always confusing!
Ohh, so beautiful! But I really think I don’t need ANOTHER neutral palette 🙁
I totally understand, Aida!
There are a few shadows that interest me, but not enough to make me want to buy the whole thing. I can dupe a lot of these colors in my collection since they’re so neutral so this is something I think I will be passing on. I really really love that Cashmere shade though, so interesting and beautiful!!
Thank goodness you can dupe most of them! 🙂
Fingerpaint, Lavender Bubble Bath, and Cashmere scarf are very nice. On the whole though this is way to warm for me to even hope to use!
It is a very warm palette, unfortunately for some 🙁
Do you know if it will ever be in stores? Or is it just going to be online?
Tarte said it was online only!
So I’m confused is this the second one to a series or not was there one b4 this like the smashbox mater class or is this the first? Please help because if there was a first I missed it and would like to hunt it down. Thanks.
Hi Amanda,
I really don’t know – it was listed as V2 up until today, where Sephora changed it to V1. The palette itself doesn’t have a name on it. It was included in QVC’s April Bow & Go set, and I believe there was another palette in November’s Bow & Go?
I think there have been two Bow & Go shipments, at least when I was chatting with Musings of a Muse about it this morning, so it would make sense that it is, essentially “V2.” They should just give it a real name, LOL. There is a palette similarly priced and shaped as this one on Ulta that I believe is the palette that was sent out in the first Bow & Go installment.
Ah! I had almost talked myself out of this one, because it reminds me a lot of Lorac’s Unzipped, but your review is making me rethink that. And I really like the looks you did on your eyes!
I’d love to see a follower palette challenge where you pick a palette and see what looks your followers come up with for it. I never know what combinations to try with the bigger palettes.
I think it’s definitely a bit warmer, more bronzy/coppery compared to Unzipped!
I love these shades and it is great for my budget…just paid 3 tuition bills 🙂
I really like the look you created with it!
Tuition! Ouch!!
This appeals to me much more than any Tarte eyeshadow palettes that I’ve seen and is a great value (less than the Naked palette or Lorac Pro for neutrals). I wish it wasn’t just online though, hoping that will change so I can check it out in person! I like Tarte as a brand, but I don’t own any of their eye products. I’m glad that this palette doesn’t disappoint.
Maybe they’ll change it if it does well, but Tarte definitely said online only when I asked for info on it 🙁
The colors in this palette are much nicer/more wearable than I’d anticipated. If I didn’t already have dupes for most of them, I’d definitely be adding this to my collection. I really like the looks you’ve created, especially the first one. =)
Thank you, Cat!
There are lots of really pretty colours in here (Silk Robe, Fingerpaint Art, Bubble Bath, Handpicked flowers to name a few), but I feel like I can probably ‘more or less’ dupe a bunch with my current palettes. Also, the packaging is a bit ‘meh’ for me after the awesomeness of the MATTENIFICENT and the Rainforest After Dark. This one is okay, but it kind of has that ‘$1.99 gift box from the newsagent’ feeling to it for me. Obviously that’s not the most important feature of the palette, but, well, I’ve been spoiled recently! 😀
Interestingly, I got distracted, and what I took away from this mostly was that I still REALLY WANT Paper Roses from the Too Faced Country Palette. Handpicked Flowers reminded me of it! It’s nice to see that there’s a UD semi-dupe (X) in the mix there too!
Haha! Urban Decay X is a seriously good alternative, though 🙂
Not sure if it’s just me, but I had to scroll up several times to make sure that Christine didn’t accidentally use the same picture for two shadows. So many colours in the palette seem like dupes for each other!!
I don’t think they really dupe each other, but they are all along a similar spectrum!
This looks Ike a winner to me, and at a decent price!
I agree!
This is so stunning, I’m glad to see that it’s a good one! I’m still bummed that they don’t sell Tarte here in Australia because they are killing it!
