Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hyper Liner

Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hyperliner Review

Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hyperliner ($17.00) is a soft pencil eyeliner available in thirteen colorful shades.  I wasn’t sure what to expect from Tarina Tarantino’s makeup line, but these two eyeliners are the first products from her line that I’ve tried, and I am pleasantly surprised!   They are soft but not super soft — think firmer than Urban Decay 24/7 Pencils but softer than Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes — and apply very smoothly.  The color range seems fun, even if I’ve only seen two, I’m interested in checking out a few more shades (like Spark of Envy!).

  • Glamorous Thief is a brightened medium blue with silver spairkle and a soft sheen.
  • Amethyst Android is a blue-based violet purple with a soft sheen but no real noticeable shimmer.

I found these liners stayed put on my lower lash line (I didn’t wear on my water line, since I wasn’t sure if these were waterline safe or not) without budging, smudging, or migrating during the day.   The liner itself applies intensely without work, and it glides on without tugging on the lash line, too.  I really like the level of softness, because it’s not so soft it’s easy to break, but it’s not so hard that it tugs or drags on the lash line either.

The eyeliners are also very simply packaged–colored end followed by a silver strip, and then the majority of the pencil is a pink all topped off with a silver cap.  They’re the same price as both Urban Decay and Make Up For Ever’s eyeliners–and just as good.  I’d say the color range may differ here and there, though Tarina Tarantino’s closer to Urban Decay’s.   In fact, Glamorous Thief is incredibly similar to Deviant, while Amethyst Android to Lust.  (If you have those, I’d pass on both these shades.)  On me, all three wear about the same, with Make Up For Ever doing the best on the water line, and then Tarina Tarantino and Urban Decay doing just slightly under Make Up For Ever (but I personally prefer the color range and softness of Urban Decay).

Have you tried Tarina Tarantino’s Hyperliner yet?  Any must-have shades?

Recommendation:  If you’re either an eyeliner fiend or you don’t have too many Urban Decay/Make Up For Ever eyeliners, then Tarina Tarantino is a nice line to try if you’re looking for a pop of color in your eyeliner.  I don’t think the shade range is as standout when the market has so much that is similar, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that these work well and are high quality eyeliners.  If you own all of Urban Decay’s liners, you may find these too similar to own both–the only shade that looks different from anything Urban Decay has is Broken Doll (light pink).

I loooove my Eye Dream Hyperliner!! I’ve always been a fan of UD’s Zero liner, but since discovering these, Tommy Jet is my new HG black liner. I think it’s much creamier than the 24/7 liners!

I love the look of these! I would love to try them out. I, personally, think that the price could a BIT better, but nonetheless. Tarina Tarantino makes such CUTE jewellery. 🙂

I’m curious what you would think of her eyeshadows. – I have the hot pink one (Bow) and love it. i find it very pigmented but really blendable which is a weakness of mine. I’m pretty new to your blog and would love to know what you think of her matte eyeshadows.

I love Tarina Tarantino Hyperliners! I own Locket Book and Puppeteer (both brown but pretty different). I might have to get a couple more!

Wowzers! Those are bold. That girly pink packaging belies how shockingly bright some of those pencils are going to be. The first one is pretty but similar to other brands and that second one is sort of weirdly interesting. That in between blue/purple color. I’d be interested to see how it looked with various different eye looks. Seems like it might change based on what its paired with.

I just got back from Sephora and I swatched several of these liners. They are stunning. Glamorous Theif, especially, is just as vibrant in real life as it is in this picture. If I didn’t already have Binge by Urban Decay, I would pick that one up.

i love some items from tarina tarantino. i went to sephora the other day and swatched like crazy. the eyeliners are just as great as the UD 24/7 eyeliners but i have alot of them already, so i think the only unique color i want to get so far is broken doll (shimmery light pink). the TT ultraviolet( plum), spark of envy (green), and kanzashi(turquose) all remind me of the new mac pearlglider dupes if anyone havent gotten them yet . so im thinking about those ones. i also want to get all the blushes (they are so soft). and then i did some lip swatches of the lipsticks and want fuschia lining (coral) ,candy jar (hot baby pink) which are really pigmented. then i also tried on pendent (peach pink) and showroom (girlie pink) , but was kinda dissapointed with how sheer these 2 were. i swiped some of her e/s but i have so many from mac , that i couldnt justify the price for them. i might get just 1 in chain (metalic green gray)
christine can u please do a review and some swatches (lipsicks, glosses e/s eyeliner, blushes) please from her line, i would love it ! thanx!~

Love these. I like that they have some good browns too as well as some good brights, as while UD Bourbon is nice I like my brown liner just a bit darker than that. MAC Teddy is my HG staple brown for years, but kohls are obviously more smudgy than UD’s or MUFE so I’ve been hoping for a while that a darker more bronzy shade of brown would appear somewhere so I could have something to wear instead of Teddy on days I really need a more stubborn liner. TT’s Puppeteer isn’t quite as perfect as Teddy, but it’s pretty damn close! Also loving Spark of Envy. Great teal liner. I really hope they add more shades here as it’s a great product!
