What complexion product wasn't worth the splurge?
Sisley Tenseur Moisturizing Gel, which was a popular primer at some point in the online community. It’s stupid expensive–$200–and while it worked well, I didn’t personally derive $200 value from it!

La Mer The Soft Fluid Foundation, which I still get irritated about purchasing, but it sits on my skin SO well the most often while providing a great finish (particularly in real life) with the perfect level of coverage (for my preference).
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream; it’s fine but didn’t do anything above and beyond for me than a decent moisturizer does!
Biologique Recherche PIGM400 — it’s not the MOST expensive product, but it’s definitely not inexpensive. It’s one product I’ve repurchased over and over again and feel like it makes a difference to my skin.
Natasha Denona Circo Loco! It ended up being a really fun color story to work with in practice (so yes, I did purchase!).
I like buildable, medium coverage; I want to feel like I can stretch it out or build it up but not that I have to use the smallest amount (nor that I have to use a lot to get higher coverage).
I find I reach for 10-15 shade palettes the most. There’s usually enough variety in finish, color, and depth that I can use it as a standalone palette. Alternatively, I like quads as an accent or way to extend a larger palette.
