Have your preferences changed for what you like in a foundation? (If so, how?)

Have your preferences changed for what you like in a foundation? (If so, how?)

Yes! I used to prefer higher coverage and more matte foundations, but now I tend to enjoy buildable, light-medium coverage with a more natural finish.

I don’t think so. I still find I prefer more pigmented eyeshadows than ones that are sheerer, though I don’t mind having a more buildable formula so long as it’s still more medium/semi-opaque to begin with (sheerer than that I have found really don’t build up that well).

Do you find yourself more drawn to old favorites or whatever you have that is new?

Do you find yourself more drawn to old favorites or whatever you have that is new?

I definitely gravitate toward what is new. I’d even say it’s more about accessibility, and new products are often spilled all over my vanity, while older favorites are tucked away… hence reaching for new more often. (This is my answer in spite of testing new products on the regular; if I...

Does more choice in products these days overwhelm or delight you?

Does more choice in products these days overwhelm or delight you?

I enjoy it overall, since I think variety is good–we all have different preferences, so having options at different price points, retailers, etc. is a good thing. I can see it being overwhelming, though, especially if one is new to beauty!

Have you used makeup to change your mood?

Absolutely! Sometimes if I’m just feeling very blah, sometimes playing with eye makeup cheers me up and gets me thinking in a different direction (as a distraction, almost, but also using a different part of my brain than I feel I usually use most days).

Do you prefer full-size or travel-size for skincare?

Do you prefer full-size or travel-size for skincare?

For something like makeup remover or cleansers, travel-size is nice because it takes me awhile to get those types of products to begin with, so it is convenient to have something I can easily take with me if needed. For everything else, I prefer full-size!

Do you prefer full-size or travel-size for mascara?

Do you prefer full-size or travel-size for mascara?

Travel-size seems to start out drier for some formulas, which can be nice as I have found there are a fair number of formulas that always seem too wet when initially opened. Travel-size is also ideal if you’re not someone who wears mascara often enough to finish a tube within a few months.
