How do you organize your cheek products?

How do you organize your cheek products?

I have some go-tos that I have segmented out, which aren’t in any particular order, as it’s about 15-20 products, which are more “wearable” and “everyday” shades that work well with a lot of looks. The rest are organized by brand and by formula in my full storage.

If you had to keep only 10 lip colors, what would your top 10 look like?

These minimalist type questions make my heart pitter-patter in a way that’s surely unhealthy. Here’s a very tentative top 10 that I’d never commit to achieving… Urban Decay Rebel, Estee Lauder Naked Truth, Bite Oyster Pearl, Burberry Oxblood (Liquid), Cle de Peau Bugatti Red, Too Faced Honey...

Pat McGrath Decadence, Viseart Paris Nude, Coloured Raine Queen of Hearts, Tom Ford Nude Dip, Chanel Empreinte du Desert. I’d be very upset, though, and I beg everyone never to make me choose this for real.

Did you play with makeup as a child? Did it influence you?

I didn’t! My mom wore very makeup rarely (maybe for a wedding or something like that), so I wasn’t exposed to it growing up.

Do you enjoy when brands share sneak peeks of upcoming products?

Yes, definitely! I don’t want to hear/see much about it really far in advance (like months), but I enjoy seeing brands tease about upcoming releases a few weeks prior to them launching.

What was the last makeup tip you learned that changed your routine?

It’s better to pair a water-based primer with a water-based foundation; silicon-based primer with a silicone-based primer — didn’t make that connection on my own OR for the longest time!

What's your favorite non-traditional beauty storage solution?

I don’t think they’re as unusual for storing makeup now, but the Container Store’s Linus’ drawer organizers have been a staple in my household for all organizational needs starting with makeup for years. I’m also a huge fan of using glass tumblers to store things like eyeliner and brushes!

Has social media influenced your makeup style?

Oh, I’m sure. I don’t think in a conscious way but I’ve certainly changed techniques or enjoyed a different look/aesthetic based on how popular it gets over time. Plus, I inevitably end up wearing a lot of on-trend color combinations and products since I am fortunate to be testing those new...

How important is quantity for the price?

How important is quantity for the price?

For most products, it doesn’t make a big difference to me personally but that’s as someone who does not expect or aspire to finish anything due to the nature of my job. If I was just a consumer, I’d likely feel different to an extent – I don’t need the buy most products in bulk but...
