I really enjoy singles myself, though they can get expensive compared to a palette, so it often depends on if it’s a brand that releases tons of palettes. I don’t mind palettes, though, and I think they can be a good place for inspiration.
For the eyes, teal eyeliner is a go-to but for eyeshadows on the lid, I don’t know that there’s one look I reach for. For cheeks, I tend to gravitate toward coral and peachy-brown or rosy brown satin finishes. For lips, mauves and corals.
I really like orange lipsticks (like true orange) but don’t love how they often look on me… though I wear them anyway, haha.
Really cool-toned shades like silver or icy blue/white I have to be careful about what I pair them with. I also tend to avoid deeper shades like true reds but less about the color and more that I prefer less coverage/intensity usually.
Maybe mustard-like yellows? I find they are getting easier to incorporate/use with other products as we have seen more of them in the last few years!
I can’t recall the last time we did anything for Halloween! I usually spend half the night trying to get Mellan not to bark at the doorbell, LOL, so it’s a no from me! I do enjoy perusing all of the cool looks that come out of the season, though.
The way I feel about products in general, including beauty tools, is it’s better to purchase what works, not just what’s expensive or what’s cheap. I do find that I quite enjoy makeup brushes to the point where I definitely splurge there regularly, but I don’t buy too much in the way of...
I would say I’ve just gotten better at buying backups of products I know I will never finish (e.g. color cosmetics for the most part) and getting too deep into skincare backups (because needs and what works changes over time).
I like minis that are sold separately, so mini lipsticks or highlighters or blushes. Obviously, the quality needs to be there, but I think that mini sizes are often plentiful enough to give us a lot of usage but with a better chance at actually finishing up our products while paying less!
I do! I think it is great fun to put together combinations that work well for a go-to palette or some theme; this is sometimes what I’ll do if I’m traveling and have time to play. I also enjoy arranging by color and undertone!
