How important is finishing a makeup product?

How important is finishing a makeup product?

For me, my goal is to try and photograph/swatch/review what I buy, because in the past, I’d get overambitious and purchase way, way more than I could feasibly get to. It’s rare that I have a meaningful chunk of time to catch up on my backlog (it’s more like, hey, here’s a day or two every...

Do you enjoy "highlighting blushes"?

Do you enjoy "highlighting blushes"?

YES! I love a blush with enough shimmer to double as a highlighter, but I’m routinely “more shimmer” over subtle as a personal preference. I also find they’re easier to apply than more matte blushes, so that is another bonus!

What spring collections were most interesting to you?

What spring collections were most interesting to you?

Pat McGrath’s EYEdols as I enjoy the formula a lot, and it’s nice to see singles out as it makes me hopeful to see more in the future. Natasha Denona Biba; I find myself reaching for ND’s formula often for something that’s easy/quick to apply (in the sense that I know how to work with it...

How do body highlighters fit into your regular routine?

How do body highlighters fit into your regular routine?

They typically don’t! I’ll test them for reviews, but it’s rare that I’ll remember to wear one–I can be quite forgetful that isn’t being applied to test, LOL!

What are three products currently on your wish list?

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask, and then both Natasha Denona 28-Pan Palettes (I have both from the very original launch, but the ingredients have changed a bit over time, and I’d like to have updated, better-quality photos since they’re all permanent shades).

What will make you splurge on a product?

What will make you splurge on a product?

Interesting color stories, consistently high quality in the past by the brand, unique (but not gimmicky) offering, and just that right mix of color/finish/texture/payoff that always draws me in (like coral blush, green eyeshadow, pearly lipstick).

What don't you want to see in an expensive product offering?

What don't you want to see in an expensive product offering?

Since it’s rare that it’s the actual product that costs the most, and it is packaging, then I’d want to see premium packaging – it shouldn’t feel flimsy in any way. I shouldn’t see off-center labels, printing, etc. on the packaging.

What would your dream makeup space/vanity look like?

What would your dream makeup space/vanity look like?

I’d love to have slightly taller drawers and then maybe a bank of drawers on one side of varying heights )(to accommodate some things stood up!), but I”m pretty happy with what I have, which is a very wide, narrow desk that’s easy to clean with a larger mirror mounted on the wall behind it...

What's in your makeup bag (or in a bag or on a desk)?

What's in your makeup bag (or in a bag or on a desk)?

I don’t keep a makeup bag since I work from home, so I don’t need much when I’m out of the house! I keep a Jack Black Lip Balm, Urban Decay Rebel Vice Lipstick, and Giorgio Armani Luce Lacquer in my purse, just in case. On my desk, I have a Jack Black Lip Balm and an Hourglass Lip Oil.
