This might be the first SG palette I skip. It’s too bright for my personal use. I might’ve considered it without the yellow but I know I’d never use it.
There are 2 colours in here that I really love (and probably have multiple dupes of) and several that are colours I love but rarely, rarely wear (Waterfalls, Rainforest, Cane Fields and Doctor Bird) – and even with the first 2 of those, I’ve probably got some pretty close dupes). I really dislike pastel matte blues (I remember the 60’s!!!) and the orange and yellow and matte – just not for me. While this contains a lot of shadows, it looks like SG too is hiking up its prices, just like everything else around me…
I find myself in the very strange position of not being all that excited about this palette. I think if I didn’t have SO MANY Sydney Grace shadows and palettes already, it would add some beautiful colors to my collection, but I’m pretty sure I could dupe this entire palette at this point (not having seen the Dupes list yet, of course). I was trying to figure out why your collaboration spoke to me than this one and I think it was the depth and darkness in a lot of the shades that really brought some much-needed colors into their range, whereas the navy, maroon, and black here don’t seem like enough to bring dimension into the looks I would do with this palette. Not from a skin tone perspective, but just as someone who likes dark mattes to anchor the colorful looks. I’ve followed Tina for a while on YouTube and think a lot of people will love this, it’s just not calling to me.
I will be ordering this ASAP! It looks like fun and nice swatches.
Definitely not me, very colourful, but certainly a couple of shades really catch my eye: Lignum vitae and Dr. Bird. Lignum vitae as a single would be make me very happy..
Not the color story for me but it’s cute, and looks up to par with SG’s usual quality.
A shame Negril wasn’t dark as seen and personally a bit eclectic, but something tells me it would work as far as creating various looks.
These are my type of colors! Unfortunately my 22 year old daughter says I look ridiculous wearing colorful makeup at my age so I’ll probably skip although I would love to have it.
Pfft, wear what you want!! 🙂
Was your daughter ever a rebellious teen? Pay her back and be a rebellious Mom!!! Wear allll the color!!!!
I’ll bet you look great! Wear what you love. You’re the mom and have earned that right. 🙂 (With love from an almost-53-year-old who loves wearing bright colored makeup.)
I’m older and say bring more colours!
Blah packaging, but the color story is unique and quite pretty.
Nothing I would buy, too many brights and pastels.
Don’t care for the price either.
I’m an island girl who definitely loves everything bright including shadows, lipsticks and polishes but this is a little all over the place for me. I don’t care for pastels as they make me look dead sick!!
A little all over the place is a good description of what I thought. I feel the same about pastels, they aren’t welcome on my face, body or even in my home. 🙂
i kind of like this palette. the colours look fun but wearable. i dont have that many in my collection these mix of colours. simply coz i am not usually that brave to venture outside naturals, beigs/ very very muted soft pinks. I am looking to spread my wings a bit.
I adore Tina and want to support her. I have her first collaboration palette and planned on skipping this collaboration because initially, I wasn’t a fan at first glance, but after seeing the swatches on Tina and hearing the story behind the colors chosen, I have since converted otherwise.
