Sydney Grace x Mel Thompson Tiny Marvels Palette Swatches

Sydney Grace x Mel Thompson Tiny Marvels Palette ($52.00) is a new palette in collaboration with YouTuber Mel Thompson, which launches August 7th at 9AM PT. Here are swatches!
P.S. — Luv Bug arrived shattered upon arrival, but I was able to clean-up the palette and dust off the surrounding shades so it was photographable, LOL.

This is so lovely…excited about it!
I have long since stopped purchasing collaborative pieces for my own reasoning, but this is awfully tempting. Mel Thompson is such a sweetheart and her last collaboration with another brand was admittedly very nice. If and only if the reviews are good will I consider this, especially since I’m still one of the last to get on the Sydney Grace bandwagon. Still haven’t made my first purchase yet, I know. 🙁
No worries about being the last to get on Sydney Grace’s bandwagon, I still haven’t jumped on either. But I hear so many amazing things about their formula. I have been wanting to try them out for so long now.
I love this! I want this ASAP. Thanks to you, Christine, I’ve discovered Sydney Grace’s wonderful products, and Mel is one of the few YouTubers I watch regularly because I love the way she does her makeup, especially eye makeup. I wish there was a sign up page on SG’s website since I’m pretty sure this is going to sell out quickly. I’ll have to stalk the site on Friday. 😉
I love the packaging artwork and the theme on this one, and it’s nice to see a unique color story. I think Mel Thompson is adorable. I’ll try to snag this!
This is grand. Mel is very respected and has many fans here. Obviously SG does, too. I see alarm clocks amongst your readership! Most of these shades are tweaked just enough to be quite unique. I need this like an earwig infestation, but it’s truly special, and the swatches look grand. No one who gets this will see him/herself coming down the street….if you can get close enough, lol.
How exciting! I was so delighted to see this. I love to see a cohesive theme represented in a color palette. I am also excited to see Sydney Grace dipping into more pastels.
I guess I am in the minority here…I have zero interest in this. It does not look cohesive at all, and I am having trouble imagining eye looks I could get from it.
I heard this from a few readers as well as a good friend of mine, so I tried to rearrange it – maybe this helps! https://www.temptalia.com/color-stories/sydney-grace-tiny-marvels-rearranged/
Yes it does, cause I was scratching my head!
I think I need to see some eye looks actually, I’m still scratching my head.
Can the pans be popped out to be rearranged?
I don’t think so – not the square pans.
Does that mean the ROUND pans in Sydney Grace palettes (Autumn’s Reign, Chase Your Dreams, Summer Days) can be easily popped out? Just like colour pop palettes?
Autumn’s Reign, yes, unless they changed something, but it looks like the new 9-pan palettes are glued in (or else so tightly in that short of destroying the eyeshadow the packaging, I don’t know if they’ll come out, LOL).
Oh dang. This is truly gorgeous! Very wearable and fun too, and I love the bug theme. I have always been a fan of the creepy-crawlies.
I really like Mel and the Sydney Grace eyeshadow formula is great! I’m kind of intrigue by the pops of colors as well but the cover! I saw Mel’s video and understand her love for bugs but I just am deadly afraid of bugs so I’m not sure about the cover haha.
Yes! I will break my no-buy-quarantine for this, and am delighted to purchase. Mel Thompson is adorable, awesome and artistic, and I love her! Even tho she and I are polar opposites, (me: older, long hair, no tats, classic closet) I have learned so much from her. She presents such a positive atmosphere. This is also something I can’t totally dupe, and I do like Sydney Grace.
Way to go Mel!
Wanna hear something crazy? I watch Mel’s YT channel on the regular, near DAILY, and I knew nothing about this lovely gem! I am so buying this! Not only to support her, but because I genuinely love the color story going on here. Besides, I’d love to exclaim that I’m wearing Fire-Butts on my lids when asked! ?
She only did a sneak peek on her Instagram on Monday or Tuesday, it was black and white.
She posted the announcement/reveal video this AM! We were told we could post after that (which is what I did) 🙂
Okay, good! I didn’t actually fog out and completely miss it. I was seriously beginning to question my memory, though!
I adore Mel Thompson and Sydney Grace is one of my favorite brands! I will definitely be picking this up!
I like Mel and she’s one of the few youtuber I still watch, even if not with continuity (but this is due to the fact that I prefer textual contents like blogs than visual ones) so I wasn’t aware of that collaboration! Neither I was expecting something like a bug inspired theme! Let me say that its refreshing seeing that not all the influecencers create love and sweet inspired palettes. I’m tired of seeing love love love everywhere! I’m also happy that this release reflects Mel’s style and not the same boring neutral palette, that currently seems to be the preferred (and maybe safest) coiche of many brands. However, as for many good eyeshadow brands, SG is basically unavailable outside north America
On the website, SG says they ship internationally, except to China. They note there may be Covid restrictions. They ship by weight, and calculate cost based on the address. Shipping via USPS or UPS. IDK if they calculate tariffs. Tracking could be an issue. Hey, i order from Yesstyle to Boston, so why not try a SG order?
I live in Australia and ordered From the Christmas in July Sale and I am still waiting for the delivery (and I am going away next week! Worried I won’t be able to redirect it if it miraculously arrives in the country). The delivery was $23 which pretty much added up to the discount from the sale so it was affordable but with normal prices it gets a bit too expensive. I feel I’ll have to pay taxes as well, yet to see. Last thing I heard was it departed LA 4 days ago.
Also in Australia and my sale order arrived yesterday – hopefully yours arrives soon!
Yeah. The problem are that here international shipping containing makeup (and cosmetics in general) have to pass hygienic and sanitary control. That add additional taxes (and times) to the international delivery ones. Moreover they open all packages during these controls. It’s very likely that I’m going to see my palette half crashed after 2 months. The only way for me it’s to expect that brands like SG (but also CP for instance) go to international retailers, like sephora, cult beauty, beauty bay etc..
Thanks to you I got lots of goodies during the Christmas in July sale and now officially have started my Sydney Grace collection! That being said I’m so excited for this collab as Mel is one I love to watch!
This color story speaks to me. Even though I haven’t even opened all of the multitudes of shades I got during the Christmas in July sale, I am totally picking this up. And I agree with Nancy T in that I can’t wait to tell people I have Fire-Butts on my eyes!!
How pretty! Sydney Grace is one of my favourite brands and Mel seems like a lovely person. Her videos are always helpful and I love the way she does her makeup. I think she did a fantastic job with this palette! The colour scheme is refreshing and the packaging is so adorable. 🙂
Merch with the aesthetic of the palette would be very nice, it’s very artsy. I am not interested in buying an eyeshadow palette, neither was in her lip products collaboration, but with that the candle was amazing (both it looks and smell); it was a nice way to get the vibe and also support her.
Wow I love Mel and Sydney Grace so I’m getting this palette!!! Wish the dark shade swatched better. But overall it looks real nice!
I love Mel and was so excited to watch her video this morning. She did an amazing job of putting together a unique theme and color scheme. The only shade I wish she had not included is scarab, every brand has that duo chrome. If you need me around noon EST Friday don’t bother me, I’ll be cyberstalking Sydney Grace’s website. ?
I have zero interest in this also. Not going to buy another palette, I prefer singles. It’s pretty but only a few colors I would use.
Setting an alarm for this, I gotta have it! I have been watching Mel Thompson for years, I adore her. And Sydney Grace is a top favorite brand, so what a perfect combination! Thanks for the heads up on this Christine, I actually saw your IG post before I saw the YouTube notification from Mel.
This is such an odd color story love Sg not much of a puffin fan. Easy pass.
I love Mel and this is so different to what keeps being produced. It’s also awesome that her tattoo artist did the artwork for the palette.
This color story actually reminds me more of a floral garden which I suppose is naturally filled with bugs. I’m not a fan so much as I’m appreciative–can’t get great gardens without some bug action. I wonder if this is limited edition? I quite like this color story and it would be fun to finally try out the Sydney Grace formula with this.
These looks gorgeous but it will be a big NOPE for me… I have entomophobia and the packaging isn’t really helping
This is so exciting! I did not know about this before I saw your post and now I am excited. I love Sydney Grace and I really like Mel Thompson. The colour scheme looks interesting and the concept of this palette as well! I am just a teensy bit sad that this palette does not have round pans, but that is really just personal preference.
Every shade being named for arthropods is delightful.
This is so Mel.
She does do amazing eye looks that I could never pull off and she finally got that green shade (Mantis) she desired so much. I watched her vid yesterday (also her birthday, HBD Mel!) and I think this palette will do well.
There are about half the shades here I might use, which means it’s a no for me.
But I’m on a no palette buy right now–for all the obv (wearing less makeup, working less…) and have been for several months.
Quality-wise it looks wonderful and I am thrilled for her; she’s a lovely human.
