Favorite matte lipstick shade?: Although it is technically a Satin shade, I will go with Sensual Sparks by MAC, I like to wear it thick then patted with my finger, which makes it a gorgeous opaque, matte color.
Favorite matte eyeshadow shade?: Rain, a divine cool brown shade from the In The Know palette by Stila
Favorite matte blush shade?: I don’t have a fave one! I always use the lipstick I am wearing that day as a blusher! 🙂

Favorite matte eyeshadow shade? – I haven’t got many but when I use eyeshadow, I wear Salted Caramel from the Chocolate Bar palette.
Favorite matte blush shade? – None, I don’t have any matte blushes yet! ): Getting NARS Dolce Vita soon though!
Velvet Teddy is such a sleeper. It is one of the most beautiful nude colors.
Although I prefer mac lipsticks, I heard wet n wild bare it all is a cheaper drugstore alternative for velvet teddy 🙂

Favorite matte lipstick shade? not sure if it’s technically a “matte” but MAC’s LE Red Dwarf
Favorite matte eyeshadow shade? I guess Copperplate (Matte2) or my new Taupe Grey from MUFE which is technically a “Satin” but it applies matte and yet is smooth and blendable and not dry at all

Big fan of copperplate. It has a gorgeous undertone. Almost lavender.
I so wish MAC would expand the Matte2 range rather than narrowing it down (a few shades have been discontinued over the years but it’s such a good formulation and 3 of my faves and very popular shades generally – Blanc Type, Typographic and Copperplate – are Matte2

Adding Frankly Scarlet (how did I miss this one?!?) and Copperplate to my MAC wishlist. Now if they would just release the Ultimate Lipsticks already.
How original! Maybe they’ll send you to NASA to get a lipstick. Just don’t get any press samples you can’t identify because there are lurkers waiting to say something stupid about them if they’re mentioned in a comment blog.
Oh gods, Christine! This is the one of the hardest surveys ever. I’m gonna have to think on this without overthinking it…As always I am fairest porcelain with neutral undertones and cool-leaning features (Guerlain Beige Pale, Bobbi Brown Porcelain or Alabaster, NARS Chantilly, KVD Light 42, etc. with blonde hair and blue/green eyes).
Matte Lipstick: THIS IS SO DIFFICULT. I suppose I must pick OCC Lip Tar in Stalker. Since I collect reds, it must be a red and Stalker is such a lovely, power blood red. Runners up include OCC Digitalis for my ultimate nude (though I tend to wear it glossy) and KVD’s Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick in LUV because of its phenomenal finish. Though Besame Cherry Red gives Stalker a run for its money and is more day appropriate for most.
Matte Eyeshadow: This would be much easier if I could pick a whole brand 😉 I love a light matte gray but they’re hard to track down (recommendations welcome! I’m liking Saucebox Killer but that’s more a storm gray). I’ve been really loving MUFE M-548 as a crease, transition, and/or contour color. Super useful. Any Sugarpill shade for color, though!
Matte Blush: Easier but still a task! NARS Couer Battant is my favorite one to gaze at in the pan. I adore NARS Siam Matte Multiple as well. For contours that could be considered blush I love OCC’s Creme Color Concentrate in John Doe, NARS Altai, and Pumpkin and Poppy loose powder in Oak Bark.

NARS Namibia is a beautiful matte mid-tone grey that I like to use in the crease and for blending with very cool or pink eyeshadow looks.

Favorite matte blush: I just recently picked up MAC’s Bred for Beauty. So pigmented you barely need to get any color on the brush to get the perfect color on your cheeks!

Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair/neutral; auburn hair, hazel/green eyes.
(Disclaimer: As a general rule, I am not a big fan of any matte makeup, except for foundation. So I’m not working from a lot of experience.)
Favorite matte lipstick shade? I don’t have a favorite shade. I really don’t wear a lot of mattes, and I’ve noticed a lot of lipsticks calling themselves mattes are more like satins. I don’t like light colored mattes at all, so brights and darks for me. Brand-wise, I like Max Factor, Wet n Wild Megalast, and Nyx because they feel creamy, comfortable and non-drying. I’m sure MAC probably has good ones, but I don’t own any of their mattes.
Favorite matte eyeshadow shade? UD Walk of Shame, because it’s a perfect base or transition shade; UD Foxy because it looks great on built up on my lids, and is also a good browbone highlight; TF Salted Caramel, because it’s such a nice, pretty warm crease shade. I love bright colors, shimmers, duochromes, etc., but I like neutral mattes for their versatility as supporting players.
Favorite matte blush shade? Tarte Exposed (goes with everything) ; MAC Taupe (for contouring); Pinktini from Sleek’s Pink Sprint Palette. Pinktini is a red velvet matte probably made for much darker skin tones than mine. I use the tiniest amount and blend it really well, and I feel like I have “Snow White” cheeks. Just that hint of red against really fair skin. It also looks amazing dabbed on top of a red lipstick for a velvety finish.
I’ve never thought of dabbing blush over lipstick to achieve a velvety finish – what an amazing idea. I’ll be trying that tomorrow 🙂
Some combinations work better than others. I hope you find a lip/blush team that works great for you.

Skintone/Coloring: Fairly light, very neutral; dark-featured.
Lipstick: I don’t think I have any that haven’t long been DC’d… L’Oréal had an amazing line years ago, as did Revlon; the finishes were completely matte, yet they felt exactly like creams…
Eyeshadow: I have many favorite transition shades, but for color, I’d have to go with MUFE #92 (R.I.P….), and NARS Daphne- a PITA to work with, but the resulting shade is sooo worth the effort!
Blush: MAC Pink Cult.
Pink Cult is amazing. It’s so natural-looking on.

Favourite matte lipstick shade: My lips and matte lipsticks don’t get along very well; I have to do a ton of prep before I can put them on. Satins or semi-mattes are better for me. My favourite satin would be MAC Viva Glam II, I think!
Favourite matte eyeshadow: MAC Copperplate. (And if they ever bring back the Matte² shades they discontinued I will be a very happy woman. I’d especially love to get my hands on Graphology and Poison Pen.)

No I dont have Tweak. I’ll have to remember checking it out next time I order something from Illamasqua.

I don’t have a favorite matte eyeshadow shade since there are maybe one or two eyeshadows in general I like. I find matte eyeshadows too bothersome to deal with anyway.

Favorite matte lipstick shade? Revlon Mauve it Over (tragically discontinued); Wet n Wild Purty Persimmon and Stoplight Red; Nyx Copenhagen; NARS La Paz.
Favorite matte eyeshadow shade? I love warm oranges and reds as a transition shade to make my green eyes that much more green: NARS Persia, Milani Bella Eyes Mandarin, Kat Von D Cleopatra.
Favorite matte blush shade? I feel pretty “meh” about blusher, thusly I have a ten pan palette from Coastal Scents that is matte and satin shades that I use a lot.

Favorite matte eyeshadow shade? It has to be Handwritten by MAC. It’s a lovely formula and is a nice deep brown that is good as a crease colour.
Favorite matte blush shade? I can’t think off hand if I even have a matte blush. I must do but I’m not at home to check. I have satin finish blushes with no shimmer so if I were to pick one of those it would probably be MAC Pink Swoon.
