Three products you couldn’t put down this month? Natasha Denona Safari palette, L’Oréal Infallible Freshwear foundation and Clinique Nude Pop blush
Favorite cheek products this month? Clinique Nude Pop Blush
Favorite base products this month? Loreal Infallible Freshwear Foundation
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name.
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? My skincare routine comprises the products I most used this month. I haven’t worn a ton of makeup since I have been staying home and inside so no real makeup application until this week.
Favorite cheek products this month? The new Fenty blushes. I am really enjoying them and plan to pick up a few more. I have two now and have used them both. As I am not a huge cream product user, I am surprised by how much I love these.
Favorite base products this month? I have used two foundations pretty much all this month, when wearing makeup. The first is the Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra foundation in the shade 1N0 It is a bit light for me but the next level up that was neutral was way too dark. I can make the light shade work, though. The other foundation has been the YSL cushion foundation. It is really light coverage so I use it primarily when I am looking for something quick to apply to just even out my skin tone a bit. I usually use the Dior cushion underneath. The Dior cushion really has no coverage but it does have some skin care properties and is suppose to help with pollution.
For concealer I have been using the Estee Lauder corrector in the pinky/peach shade. Then I use my Lancome Efercennes over top. My blushes I have already mentioned, the Fenty cream blushes and I haven’t been powdering a lot lately but under my eyes and then my Guerlain Meteorites to pull everything together at the end. I also spray MAC Fix Plus multiple times although not as much as I usually use since I am not powdering my whole face.
What shades are you loving in the Fenty, Deborah? It seems to be a well respected formula.
Hi Wednesday,
I tend to go with pink/burgundy/wine coloured blushes and don’t often buy peach/coral/orange blushes. The exception is the Ciate Summer Love which I wear a lot. It is probably my favorite blush formula as it is luminous. So, the two blushes I picked up from Fenty are Strawberry Drip and Summertime Wine. The Strawberry Drip is just as the name implies. It is described as a soft pink/coral. I don’t get much of a coral on my very fair skin tone but it is really pretty. The Summertime Wine is a berry shade with some shimmer. I don’t mind the shimmer, hence the Ciate being my favorite blush. I am going to get the shades Petal Poppin and Bikini Martini. I am also thinking about the shade Drama Class. It is the lavender shade. I found them to be a little bit more pigmented than I imagined based on Christine’s review and others on YT. Tarababyz said that they were very sheer on her. She is lighter complected than me so not sure about that. They do blend out beautifully and they build nicely, so I started out with a lighter application and then built the colour up gradually. They are very natural looking and that is likely do to the sheer formula. They are sheer but pigmented. Not sure how they do that, LOL!!
Strawberry Drip and Summertime Wine are the 2 shades I’ve been thinking of getting (though, in all honesty, I have so many blushes, it’s embarrassing, though I know I’m not alone in this with the Temptalia crowd). I want to see them for myself, though, rather than ordering online. Perhaps having to wait til the stores re-open and until I feel it’s safe to go to malls again, will be a good way to curb my buying and help me stick with a “low buy”.
I’ve worn makeup a total of 5 times in the last month and roughly the same in the month prior. I keep hoping this will curb my buying and help keep me in check. I seem to be doing the research and then abandoning the cart before I put the pin in. I still love makeup, right, so I am pretend buying… ?
Thanks, Deborah!
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? Sigma Enchanted palette, LimeCrime Venus XL 2 palette, Ofra Glitch palette.
Favorite cheek products this month? Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam, Ulta Cream Blush in Sunrise, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Ghost Unlocked palette, and ND Mini Bloom Highlighting Blush (and I love making different combos of all of these products).
Favorite base products this month? L’Oreal 24HR Freshwear Foundation has been a favorite this month.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, s&p hair
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? Estée Lauder Double Wear Concealer, Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara, and Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil (those are the only products I used on a somewhat daily basis)
Favorite cheek products this month? I only wear cheek products once a week for a Zoom meeting, otherwise my face is under a mask. This month, the two cheek products I wore the most were Tarte Blush in Paaarty and Laura Mercier Baked Bronzer 02.
Favorite base products this month? Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup (this month and every month)
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name (blue-green eyes).
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? On the rare days I’ve worn makeup, it’s been MAC Siempre Selena Retro Matte Lipstick, La Leyenda EDSF Highlighter, and a palette that was gifted to me, CColor Cosmetics Feverish Palette, an excellent dupe for ABH Sultry Palette.
Favorite cheek products this month? MAC La Leyenda EDSF Highlighter, Laura Mercier 03 Bronzer, and MAC Oh My, Passion from several years ago.
Favorite base products this month? Since I haven’t been outside much, my skin hasn’t darkened up at all this spring, so I’m still using my Fenty Profilt’r Hydrating Longwear foundation in 260.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair-neutral, low contrast
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? Bobbi Brown cream shadow stick in golden pink, UD 24/7 liners (any/all—I’ve been playing around with the bright ones in my waterline and the more “normal” shades tight lining or smudged out), YSL glossy stain in fuchsia filtre. (So bright and cheerful and juicy!)
Favorite cheek products this month? Stila convertible color in a bright, light, warm pink—it’s in a palette, so I’m not sure what the shade name is.
Favorite base products this month? MUFE HD foundation. It gives such a lovely finish with nice coverage.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light-medium with warm yellow undertone, dark brown eyes and hair
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? Face SPF, body SPF and lip balm with SPF, gotta be prepared for my long walks!
Favorite cheek products this month? MAC Harmony as an all-in-on blush, contour and slightly bronze color
Favorite base products this month? Paula’s Choice Smoothing Primer Serum with SPF. I wear it even on non-make-up days too smoothen my face and add extra SPF.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? eyeshadow primer (MAC, UDPP or TooFaced), Marc Jacobs Brav-O eyeshadow, Australian Gold Tinted Facial Sunscreen
Favorite cheek products this month? Dior Rosy Glow blush (like almost always), TooFaced Sweetie Pie Bronzer, Wet n Wild Reserve Your Cabana “bronzer”
Favorite base products this month? Australian Gold Tinted Facial Sunscreen, Becca Backlight Priming Filter.
Hi Mariella, I believe you mentioned the Australian Gold Tinted Facial Suncreen before, did you say it was sold at Shopper’s Drug Mart?
That’s where I got it last year but so far, this year, it looks like they’re not getting it again so I ordered from Amazon.ca (last year, Amazon in Canada didn’t have the tinted one, only the untinted ones but this year, thankfully, they do have the tinted facial one).
Great, I’ll check it out, thanks!
Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral with a bit of olive
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? I have worn makeup exactly 4 times this month so I’m choosing 3 eyeshadows which always instantly fix/improve an eye look for me 1. Bloom in the ABH Sultry palette, 2. Darcy in Sydney Grace enduring love light palette, 3. Lotus in Natasha Denona safari palette. They are all high crease shades for me which are infallible winners and somehow elevate any other combination I am wearing (Darcy looked fantastic with PMG Divine Rose shadows for today’s look)
Favourite cheek products this month? For blush, I’m on a kick with Clinique cool down cheek pop palette. I take a brush across pansy and heather pop and the result is super gorgeous. I usually pair this combo with ABH loose pigment in Daiquiri for highlight
Favorite base products this month? I always choose iT CC, but just to be different, I will choose another favourite light dewy foundation: GLO skin luminous liquid in shade Naturelle. It’s a good shade to shade and a half darker than my skin, but the overall tone is good and I just carry it down my neck and bronze out the look to be more summery. I cannot wear this foundation in winter, sadly. The shade range is dismal. The finish is beautiful and kind to my aging skin. It does not cover all my faults and it does not have great lasting power, especially on nose and chin, but it does look lovely while it lasts. I can get a bit of extra wear with primer underneath and a bit of powder to set, but I do not like to use powder because the whole idea is to have this lit from within skin. Sorry for the ramble, just want to make you aware of the limitations I see with the product. I would use this a lot more often if it had better wear time. It has minimal sun protection, I believe SPF 15 and is mineral based if I am not mistaken.
Anyone have thoughts on bare minerals original? I seem to always love the look of a mineral based foundation on my skin for the luminosity and natural look. I used Jane Iredale when I was in my late 30’s to early 40’s, but I used to self tan back then (ugh..didn’t everybody ? ?♀️ ) and no longer have a good match in her shade range). GLO skin has a pressed mineral, but the shade range is different than the liquid and feel it is too heavy looking. I have Sephora IQ matched 2 foundations to the shade Medium Beige in bare minerals O (Estee Lauder 1N2 – Ecru, IT cosmetics CC+ in shade Light) which I found rather bizarre and I do not have much faith in the system. I was dancing around the idea of iT powder foundation in the illuminating formula, but have read far better anecdotal reviews on BM. Okay, I’m done.. far too much time alone=chatty af.
BareMinerals Original was my only foundation for years. I still use it, especially in summer, and I really love it. It has good, buildable coverage while still being lightweight. It contains Bismuth Oxychloride, so be aware if you’re sensitive to that. It works really well for my oily skin. When I had drier cheeks due to perimenopause, I don’t think it looked as good, though a hydrating primer underneath and setting spray on top helped. When my nose is dehydrated and flaking, it really emphasizes the flakes and looks awful.
I found Every Day Minerals Semi-Matte and Jojoba Bases more forgiving when my cheeks were drier during perimenopause.
Lucy Minerals has light olive shades, plus they’ll do custom shades, and I’ve had friends with dry skin say great things about the original formula. It didn’t play well with my oily skin, so that’s probably accurate. lol I really liked their oil control formulas, so I can say the quality is there.
Taylor Wynn really loves the JCat Beauty Aquasurance Compact Foundation. I bought it, but haven’t tried it out yet. Swatching it, it did seem like a creamier powder, but not overly emollient.
Oh, Lucy Minerals and Every Day Minerals both offered samples last I knew. Lucy’s owner is really nice, and if you have any questions, send a email. She’ll make suggestions or even do custom blends.
You’re awesome!!! Thank you, Rachel ?
You’re welcome! I hope you find something that works for you.
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? I’m gradually starting to wear makeup again. Yay!!! L.A. Girl Just Blushing Face Blush in Just Because… (fantastic contour shade that blends really easily), bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer in Opal 01 (I’ve been having good skin days), and MILK Makeup Watermelon Brightening Serum Stick (It’s lightening the yellowed areas on my upper cheekbones near the eyes, and I’ve had more good skin days and compliments on how good my skin looks since I started using it).
Favorite cheek products this month? Fenty Cheeks Out Cream Blushes, ColourPop SS Highlighter in Hippo, NOMAD Pressed Pigment in Nothing Personal from the Metropolitan Palette, theBalmFire Highlighting Shadow/Blush Duos, BH Cosmetics Truffle blush palettes.
Favorite base products this month? BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer in Opal 01, Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in Alabaster, Milani Conceal + Perfect Foundation Stick in Porcelain, and NYX CC Cream in Green Fair/Light underneath on my red areas.
Your skin tone/coloring: light/medium, neutral undertone
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? rms Buriti Bronzer, ABH x Amrezy highlighter, Glossier Brow Flick
Favorite cheek products this month? The two above plus Stila Convertible Color in the shade Peony
Favorite base products this month? First Aid Beauty Weightless Liquid Mineral SPF30 which doubled as my base this month
Your skin tone/coloring: Fenty Pro Filt’r 110, Urban Decay All Nighter 2.5, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear 2.0 Mont Blanc, Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist Light EF 02, L’Oreal True Match C3 Creamy Natural), gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde/blue strands. My everyday base products are Fenty-Amber Match Stick as cheek contour and Pro Filt’r concealer and Soft Matte foundation in 110.
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? ColourPop BFF Plum and Get it mascara (I’m using it as a dupe for my beloved YSL The Shock Rough Burgundy so I don’t run out of RB before I can go back to work), Marc Jacobs Enamored lip glosses, and Sydney Grace Enduring Love-Deep palette.
Favorite cheek products this month? Tarte Dollface, Blushing Bride, and Paaarty blushes.
Favorite base products this month? Same as my everyday.
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? CP’s lipsticks in either Tea Thyme or Foolish and all my shimmery gold/olive/ medium brown eyeshadows in Tisse D’ Automne, Flower Beauty Gimme Gold and Naked 2.
Favorite cheek products this month? My only cheek product at the moment is Models Prefer blush in a peachy/coral shade. It’s not fabulous, but it’s OK for everyday wear.
Favorite base products this month? As always, L’Oreal True Match foundation in porcelain rose, with the Nude by Nature Airbrush primer underneath, if I am going somewhere a bit special (now that we are out of total lockdown).
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair-Light, with neutral to warm/olive undertones (NC15/MUFE Y225)
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? The new Ilia bronzer in Drawn In, RMS Lip Shine in Sacred, and Derma E sunscreen.
Favorite cheek products this month? The aforementioned Ilia bronzer, Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel (I use this under any blush to leave a faint stain) and Ilia Colour Haze Multi-use Pigments (rotate between the coral and “nude” shade.)
Favorite base products this month? I have many to rotate, but because I am deep on the sunscreen train, and I do not want to disturb my sun protection, I have been loving something so unlikely: powder foundation. Some loves are Tarte Amazonian, Mineral Infusion, and MAC Mineralize SFN. I just bought an Alima Pure one, which is solid. If you are a match for MUFE Y225 (with it’s light olive undertone) then Olive 0 in the Alima Pure line will work for you. Impossible to find such a colour in powder.
