Skin tone-Pale olive in winter
Last skincare purchase-Vasanti Brighten Up (Holy Grail status)
Last product impressed with-MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural-where have you been all my life. I just received one a couple of days ago and I love it as a finishing powder right now when I am so pale and pasty. It adds a nice sort of warmth without adding colour or glow.
Last product bought due to hype-See MAC MSF above. I have read so much about this stuff over the years I had to try it.
What color did you use in the MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural line?
I’m about NC15 in the winter and medium was spot on. They seem to run light.
Thank you!
Your skin tone/coloring: Very pale, neutral.
Last skincare purchase? Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion
Last product you were impressed with? Wet and Wild Reserve Your Cabana. Works great as a luminizing finishing powder at a super cheap price.
Last product you bought because of hype? Too Faced Born This Way in Snow. Hasn’t arrived yet, but expectations are high.
Your skin tone/coloring: Olive undertone, light/medium
Last skincare purchase?
Marcelle 3in1 Micellar Cleanser (I love my Bioderma but I wanted a pump top bottle)
Last product you were impressed with?
I got a sample of the new Becca Aqualuminous foundation and I’m really loving it so far.
Last product you bought because of hype?
BH Cosmetics Carly Bybel palette. It was only $12 and I am so in love!!! The best purchase I’ve made in a long time. Great value and amazing product
And I also finally bought MAC Mineralize blush in Warm Soul and am crazy for it. I’ve swatched it so many times in store and wasn’t impressed but decided to just try it. It’s perfect and I wear it everyday, even if I use other blush products too.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Last skincare purchase? I think it was Jouviance (Canadian brand) Glyco/Laser 10 cream
Last product you were impressed with? Secret de Nuit hair “moisturizer” from Phyto
Last product you bought because of hype? Becca Pearl powder highlighter (but I really love it and it’s very similar to the LE Dior highlighter so does that count as “hype”? I really did my research)
Your skin tone/coloring: fair warm (NC15), dark auburn hair
Last skincare purchase? Besides repurchases, the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask which I LOVE!
Last product you were impressed with? MAC So Select lipstick
Last product you bought because of hype? Becca Champagne Pop – which arrived yesterday and I immediately realized it looks identical to Looxi Bombshell on me, which I already have, so it’s going back :/
SKIN TONE: IVORY NEUTRAL
LAST SKIN CARE PURCHASE: BOSCIA TSUBAKI DEEP HYDRATION SLEEPING MASK
LAST PRODUCT IMPRESSED WITH: BOBBI BROWN SINGLE EYESHADOW IN SHADE CAMEL
LAST PRODUCT YOU BOUGHT BECAUSE OF HYPE: GWEN STEFFANI UD BLUSH PALETTE BUT I DID LOVE IT
I LOVE that boscia mask! Helps so so much with flakies in the morning from using retin-a. How are you liking it?
♥ Your skin tone/coloring:
• Dark to Medium-Deep
• Warm undertone, with a touch of Neutral
• NC44.5 to NC45
♥ Last skincare purchase?
• Lancôme Énergie De Vie The Cleansing Oil
• Lancôme Énergie De Vie Daily Aqua-Gel
♥ Last product you were impressed with?
• Estée Lauder Invisible Powder Foundation
❝ Like I’d stated in a previous Temptalia question from a couple days ago, I’d bought this item on a whim [via an online retailer]. I’d primarily bought is because it was a shade I’d been hunting for over a year. To my surprise, the shade matched my skin perfectly, which is pretty rare, in my case. And the powder is pretty good, too. ❞
♥ Last product you bought because of hype?
• Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold
My skin tone/colouring: Fair with cool, pink undertones.
Last skincare purchase? Cetaphil Daily Moisturizer. Not sure how I like it.
Last product you were impressed with? Joe Fresh Illuminating concealer.
Last product you bought because of hype? NYX Blush in Taupe.
Your skin tone/coloring: light, warm
Last skincare purchase? Cinq Mondes Micellar Water
Last product you were impressed with? Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Définition in Le Carmin. I was also impressed by the pigmentation and shine delivered by the Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo.
Last product you bought because of hype? Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo
Your skin tone/coloring: Fairest neutral. Still loving the Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture Foundation in 001. It’s really a bit too moisturising for my skin type but the colour is great so I make it work! I also love the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation in 00 Alabaster. It’s one of the most accessible foundations for pale skin and it’s an amazing formula- it’s one of the palest that I’ve come across. ?
Last skincare purchase? I think it was Garnier makeup removing wipes. Does that count because I have no idea what I bought before that!
Last product you were impressed with? It would have to be the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani lipstick in Firebird. It’s so gorgeous with the blue pearl in it and it’s a lovely formula too! If you love bright, intense lipsticks then you need this. ?
Last product you bought because of hype? I’m really not sure. I don’t tend to get drawn in by hype so I can’t think of anything. I think I’m past that stage!
My skin is cool-toned and pale but not fully fair.
The answer to all three questions is Burt’s Bees cleansing oil! I used to say that I’d never jump on the oil cleansing bandwagon, as my skin is oily and fussy as it is, but lately I’ve been wanting to do something about those bumps that sit under the surface of my skin. They’re almost gone after just a few days. After using the oil, I rinse with my CeraVe foaming cleanser.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair redhead
Last skincare purchase? Dr Jart BB cream (repurchase)
Last product you were impressed with? Drybar The Chaser Shine Cream. It’s like highlighter for your hair, it just illuminates without adding oil.
Last product you bought because of hype? Too Faced Peanut Butter palette (arrives tomorrow!)
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair/neutral
Last skincare purchase? Dr. Brandt Needles No more
Last product you were impressed with? I’d have to say it would be the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche in Dragonfruit. I disliked the original formulation of their lipsticks and really didn’t have high hopes for the new formula. After spending time reviewing and thinking about Dragonfruit for my blog, I purchased another shade.
Last product you bought because of hype? 2 actually – Natasha Denona Mono Shadow and Glow. 1 winner, 1 so-so….
Skin tone is medium warm.
Last skincare purchase AND product I was impressed with – the new Garnier moisturizing gel. Also ColourPop Amaze, which I resurrected from my stash and am impressed with all over again.
Last product I bought because of hype – I dunno. I generally read your reviews before going nuts and if something doesn’t live up to the hype, you’ve saved me from parting with my cash many times!
Your skin tone/coloring: Porcelain
Last skincare purchase? Curel itch defense lotion
Last product you were impressed with? Louboutin matte rouge Louboutin lipstick. It lasts for 8+ hours and through greasy taco meals without needing so much as a touch-up.
Last product you bought because of hype? ColourPop ultra satin liquid lipstick.
Skintone/Coloring: Fairly light, very neutral; dark-featured.
Skincare: I *think* it was Alaffia Everyday Coconut Daily Rejuvenating Face Scrub, which is amazing for removing makeup & cleansing, in one step. I only have to buy skincare products about every 6 months, so it’s not easy to recall exactly what I bought…
Impressed: Kroger Remove Wipe The Day Away Eye Makeup Remover; I picked it up on a whim (1/2 off, only $3!) while grocery shopping. It’s even better than Lancome Bi-Facil, and less irritating. I figured I could always use it to spot-clean eye brushes, but I actually really love it!
Hype: While it’s not a specific item that gets a great deal of attention, I’d have to say the Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit in Fair. The brand’s contour products get a fair amount of hype in general, but I haven’t tried any before due to the fact they were too dark/warm. I found the Light in-store, then found out about the Fair a few days later, and bought it immediately. Both are great for pale skin, but there’s more of a range in the Fair contour shades (the Light kit has the most subtle differences), and is more foolproof.
I love my ABH cream contour! I was thrilled when it was released, as I’d been searching for months for a cream contour that would work with my fair/light skin and pink undertones. They did such a great job with the colors!
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/light
Last skincare purchase? Yes to Grapefruit Night Treatment
Last product you were impressed with? Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick
Last product you bought because of hype? Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner
Skin tone: Fair, light porcelain
Last Skincare purchase: QV cleansing milk. An Australian cruelty free brand
Last product impressed with: My Naked 2 palette
Last product bought because of hype: None – I only purchase beauty products reviewed here and they need to have a B+ or more rating.
Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair w/neutral undertones, between N10-N13; magenta hair; hazel/green eyes.
Last skincare purchase? NuSkin Moisture Restore Day Protection Lotion SPF 15
Last product you were impressed with? Looxi Beauty Aurora eyeshadows
Last product you bought because of hype? ColourPop Ultra Mattes, I guess. I don’t really buy anything just because of the hype.
Your skin tone/coloring: between fair and light; cool undertones with warm features. skin type: combo normal/oily with dehydration-prone undereyes and dry hands and feet; sensitive, with rosacea
Last skincare purchase? hands/body: SPF for hands from Deborah Lippman (Rich Girl, liking) and Supergoop (Forever Young — the hand cream fits easily in my bag, the body butter is nice on my arms). face: Paula’s Choice eye cream — liking very much.
Last product you were impressed with? PC’s eye cream — you have to warm it a bit and pat it on (it’s very thick), but it’s very hydrating, completely non-irritating, works beautifully under my concealer (IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye), and has good active ingredients
Last product you bought because of hype? Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. it’s OK on my hair, but not doing anything extraordinary — my hair may just be too long/heavy to get much volume, but I thought it was worth a try.
Your skin tone/coloring: NC15
Last skincare purchase? The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturizer (a repurchase)
Last product you were impressed with? First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, and Nars Sheer Glow
Last product you bought because of hype? Nars Orgasm, Laguna, and Sheer Glow, but I went in store and had them applied first, and loved them. I don’t tend to buy only because of hype, I always check things out first.
Skin tone / coloring: fair, warm
Last skincare purchase: SK-II cellumination mask-in lotion
Last product impressed with: SK-II cellumination mask-in lotion. Love! Easy on the skin, leaves it fresh and bright. For me, worth the cost; best skin product I’ve used in years.
Last product purchased due to hype: Marc Jacobs highliner in Brown(out). Good quality certainly; just not best color for me, I need warmer tone.
Mac NC37 (medium warm)
Skincare: Amorepacific Future Response Age Defense Creme
Impressed with: Tom Ford Lips and Boys in Giacomo (I’m actually very impressed with all three of the products I’m mentioning in this post)
Hype: Viseart Dark Mattes Palette (the quality of this palette is amazing, I use these colors almost everyday in my crease–the colors can be softened, when barely touched, into soft neutral transition shades)
Your skin tone/coloring: Light-medium, warm leaning neutral
Last skincare purchase: Does a set of pore strips count? HAHA, if not, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser.
Last product you were impressed with: Limecrime’s Venus 1 palette. NGL, I reaaaaaaaaally didn’t want to purchase this because I despise their shady business practices and the Velvetines weren’t at all good. However, I couldn’t justify paying twice the price for a dupe of the palette and the Sweet Peach/Matte-trimony palettes didn’t look like what I wanted, so I bit the bullet and got it. All else aside, I’ve been so impressed with this – great pigmentation across the board, amazing packaging and they last well on the lid without primer! It’s definitely been making me excited to do my eyeshadow every morning.
Last product you bought because of hype: Maybelline Lash Sensational.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair/neutral
Last skincare purchase? Purpose facial cleanser (repurchase x infinity) and CeraVe moisturizer as a possible alternative to my favorite Cetaphil Oil Control moisturizer. CeraVe lost – why don’t I just smear sunscreen all over my face? Bleh.
Last product you were impressed with? I’m surprisingly pleased with the Revlon Photoready Eye Art Lid Line Lash. I haven’t used the glitter side, but the cream eyeshadow is a nice base for powder eyeshadows, not to mention pretty (albeit very shimmery) on its own. I don’t have high hopes for drugstore eyeshadows, much less cream eyeshadows in general, so this was a nice discovery.
Last product you bought because of hype? Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly palette (I’m a sucker for orange + purple) and Natasha Denona glow powders.
My skin tone/colouring: light to medium with neutral to yellow undertones, NC 22 ish
Last skincare purchase? Glotherapeutics Vita Essential Eye Cream
Last product you were impressed with? Laura Mercier Highlight 101
Last product you bought because of hype? Viseart palettes (love them!)
1. Medium to fair, pink tinge.
2. Several Liz Earle products; cleanser, toner, eye lotion, and dry skin moisturizer. Love this line.
3. Probably Liz Earle.
4. Lip colors. Having a very hard time finding what is comfortable to wear without drying.
Your skin tone/coloring: light to medium warm
Last skincare purchase? L’Occitane Shea Cleansing Oil (for the bazillionth time now :-))
Last product you were impressed with? this new make-up base I bought in Japan!
Last product you bought because of hype? the BECCA Ever-Matte primer
Your skintone/coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones, deep brunette, teal-green eyes w/gold flecks.
Last skincare purchase: FAB Ultra Repair Pure Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer spf 40.
Last product you were impressed with: MAC Mehr lipstick! It does for my lips what foundation does for my face; gives me perfectly even color on my somewhat unevenly pigmented lips where the pigment doesn’t go all the way to the lip ridge. Perfect MLBB.
Last product that you bought due to hype: UD Spectrum Palette!!! WooHoo! And I sure am thrilled with every bit of it, and yes, it was worth the wait, the worry and all.
So glad you finally got the Spectrum!
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair/Light w/pink undertones (MUFE LL#7)
Last skincare purchase? The Sephora Favorites Quench Your Skin set.
Last product you were impressed with? The Korres Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizing & Brightening Cream from the above mentioned set. I really did not expect to like it at all but it’s actually quite amazing! When I applied it the first time, I thought it was going to just sit on top of my skin and feel heavy. However, it sinks into the skin and leaves it feeling hydrated and baby-soft for hours and hours!
Last product you bought because of hype? I don’t know if it was because of how excited some other people were about them, or just my insatiable curiosity, but I purchased two highlighters and four eyeshadows from Looxi Cosmetics. Maybe it’s just me, perhaps I’m too picky, but when I see a photo of a product online, I kind of expect to receive a product that looks as depicted. The shadows were shown with embossing but mine weren’t embossed. Also, one of the shadow pans was only filled halfway. (The last time I visited the site, it looked like they had switched out the product photos and no longer display pictures of embossed eyeshadows.)
I do hope Looxi becomes more consistent and better able to keep up with inventory (the site is down more than it’s up). I want Looxi to succeed because the products perform well for the price and there are some unique color options. I’m going to be keeping my eye on them… and hoping they become the next MUG (only with more integrity).

Your skin tone/coloring: NW50
Last skincare purchase? Insta Natural eye serum
Last product you were impressed with? Jumbo lipstick Train Bleu by Nars ( we have this line in France but not this color and coincidentally it is my favorite color so when i could take i was super happy and it last so well !
Last product you bought because of hype? Artis oval 8 brush ( i had already the oval brush by etude house and it’s my favorite for concealer so oval brush is my thing)
Are the Etude House and Artiste Brush comparable? I’ve been thinking of trying the Etude House one since I don’t want to shell out $$$ to end up not loving the Artiste version.
Hum … I love the etude house really , it’s soft but the artis one is softer . The thing I regret with the etude house , it’s small for applying foundation ( it’s me but i know that people apply foundation with this) . I hope they will made a bigger size , But if the size don’t bother you , take it ! the finish is totally the same ! hope it’s help 🙂
Last skincare purchase: Peter Thomas Roth resurfacing serum. Jury’s still out on my opinion!
Last product impressed with: Marc Jacobs eyeliner pencils – the only eyeliners I’ve ever used with no pulling, tugging, or skipping and that leave a smooth, perfect line, even with my shaky hands! Love the new Bite Beauty lipstick line that just came out too!
Last purchases I bought because of the hype: The Natasha Denona blue/purple and green/brown palettes (love!!!) and Anastasia “The Glow” highlighter palette (haven’t used it yet)
Your skin tone/coloring: NW13
