Happy Wednesday! Here's this week's survey, which you can copy and paste and share as a comment.
- Your skin tone/coloring:
- Most used blush of all time?
- Most used lipstick of all time?
- Most used foundation of all time?
Your skin tone/coloring: Medium+ with olive undertones.
Most used blush of all time? Clinique Nude Pop
Most used lipstick of all time? Maybelline Touch of Spice
Most used foundation of all time? IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream
Skin tone: Very pale with cool undertones, MAC NW5-10
Most used blush of all time: In reality it is probably some drug store blush from when I wore a lot of makeup back in the 70’s but from modern makeup use it would be Ciate Glow to Illuminate as I wear some shade in that formula at least 2-3 times per week. It would probably be Summer Love.
Most used lipstick of all time: Elizabeth Arden Red Door Red.
Most used foundation of all time: Chosungah 22 Luminous Blend in 01 Porcelain.
Your skin tone/coloring: Porcelain
Most used blush of all time? Blackbird Cosmetics Blueberry Pookie and Kitten Kiss.
Most used lipstick of all time? UD Gash is still the only tube I’ve ever finished.
Most used foundation of all time? Mary Kay CC cream.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair redhead
Most used blush of all time? clinique nude pop
Most used lipstick of all time? too faced nude beach
Most used foundation of all time? dr. jart premium BB cream
Ooh fun questions!
Your skin tone/coloring: light to medium with yellow undertones, dark brown eyes, black hair
Most used blush of all time? Tarte Exposed or Physician’s Formula Happy Booster in Natural
Most used lipstick of all time? Revlon Peach Parfait or Revlon Pink Truffle
Most used foundation of all time? Neutrogena Healthy Skin liquid or TruthGirl loose mineral
Wow. That’s a tough question! Of all time? I’m gonna have to go way back to find something I’ve used consistently for the longest period of time.
Coloring: light to medium with slightly warm undertones
Most used blush of all time: this will have to go to Nars Orgasm or Estée Lauder Tea Rose (neither of which I own now….) I’m more of an Hourglass girl or Clinique Cheek Pop girl now.
Most used lipstick OF ALL TIME: SO hard!! This has to go to Clinique Lip Gloss in Apple (clear red, no sparkle). I don’t own this anymore either. I also wore NARS Corsica lip gloss to death. I had backups of backups of this one because it was limited edition.
Most used foundation of all time: This was an easy one. I wore Prescriptives water based liquid foundation for YEARS. 2nd runner up is Jane Iredale powder foundation in Warm Silk. (Also no longer own either.) Honorable mention goes to Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer tinted moisturizer with SPF 20.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair neutral, pastel blue hair
Most used blush of all time? Pixi Glowy Powder in Rome Rose
Most used lipstick of all time? MAC Velvet Teddy. Only lipstick that I’ve ever used up entirely! I’ve come close with KVD Requiem, so that would be my runner-up.
Most used foundation of all time? It was the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer for a long time, but recently I’ve just been using a bit of concealer and a little pressed powder to even out my skin tone.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light-to-medium with pink-beige undertones.
Most used blush of all time? An old Lancome silk-like blush in Mocha.
Most used lipstick of all time? MAC Taupe – I wore this shade before & during university.
Most used foundation of all time? Lancome Teint Idole (and its predecessors) + it’s still my go-to foundation.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light-medium with yellow undertones (NC20, NC25 in the summer if I get lots of sun)
Most used blush of all time? MAC Breath of Plum, this plum but slightly pink matte blush works great with my complexion and most eye looks and lipstick shades. I use it almost everyday, have it for ~2 years, barely see a dent in it.
Most used lipstick of all time? MAC Diva. For a dark color, it might be strange, but my nudes/everyday shades changed a lot over the years. But MAC Diva is a staple in my make-up collection from the first time I tried it.
Most used foundation of all time? It’s either Estee Lauder Double Wear or MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Nourishing foundation (I’m almost sure they’re the same thing in the end); for some people these might be `cakey` foundations for special occasions, but for me and the way I apply make-up they work as everyday foundation; I don’t build them up, just apply a thin layer and blend well with fingers or sponge. The provide good coverage without looking unnatural and stay put all day. I’m not ashamed to admit that I wore both during long hikes, mountain climbing and mud races (just foundation, no full-face make-up), sweating didn’t took them off.
Estee Lauder Double Wear is my #1 favorite foundation, but MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Nourishing foundation just didn’t as well work for me. I’m trying to finish up the tube I bought so I can do Back-to-MAC. The EL stays perfect all day long, but the MAC tends to oxidize on me. If you like those two foundations, check out Bare Minerals BarePro Performance Wear Foundation, if you haven’t already. Full coverage, stays perfect all day. It’s my new *other* favorite foundation!
I have noted that the NC20 MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Nourishing is a little darker than the NC20 in the other MAC formulas, but it wasn’t too bad in terms of oxidation. I actually wanted the NC25 for the summer the first time I bought it and fortunately the MAC make-up artist said to get the NC20.
I tried the Bare Minerals BarePro Performance Wear Foundation, it simply didn’t sit well on my skin, it separated during the day and looked awful in my fine lines.
With foundation the `chemistry` of the skin, primers, moisturizers, SPF, application techniques play a huge role in results. Double Wear is the perfect example… I’ve seen it look awful and cakey on so many people, but look amazing on others. I personally tried all 3 mentioned foundations with SPF30 or SPF50 from Paula Choice, the Estee Lauder Mattifying primer with fingers or sponge application.
So true!! Another foundation that looked great on others, but awful on me was KVD Lock-It.
I’m the opposite. I hate Estee Lauder Double Wear and think it looks terrible on the skin and doesn’t last as long as some claim but I love the MAC Nourishing Foundation. I can wear it without powder and it holds up and looks great at the end of the day!
Breath of Plum is one of MAC’s underappreciated gems. <3
NC5/10 very fair
Tarte Dollface from my “old days” and more recently Clinique Nude Pop
Clinique Shy from the old days, presently Guerlain Air Kiss
Revlon Colorstay and MAC MSF Natural
This was interesting as I’ve been wearing makeup for 10-15 years but my products have definitely changed. I loved the heck out of Dollface but now my skin is too dry to prefer that formula. I still use Revlon Colorstay sometimes though! Best longwearing coverage.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Most used blush of all time? it’s a toss-up between Tarte Natural Beauty and Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush which is fast eclipsing the Tarte blush
Most used lipstick of all time? MAC Craving
Most used foundation of all time? either IT CC Cream, Guerlain Lingerie de peau or Clarins Skin Illusion (but I think IT hedges out the other 2 a fair bit).
What color are you using in the IT CC cream, and is it the original cc? I got that one in Fair when QVC was having a promotion on the jumbo size. Why I bought the jumbo size of something I never used before is beyond me, I figured I could always return it. I never did, but I find it very yellow, and not at all as moisturizing or full coverage as they advertise. And since they have added so many new incarnations of foundation, it clearly didn’t suit everyone. I know Christine lists it as one of her favorite products. That is why I was wondering how someone else with porcelain, cool skin felt about it.
I use the shade Light. When I was running out a couple of years ago and the Canadian Shopping Channel was the only place to get IT, I repurchased but in the “Ilumination” formula because it was in a great offer and I was desperate to replenish. I didn’t like it nearly as much and then a short while later, they had the supersize of the original and I bought that and I’m using it still. In winter, I will put a facial oil (Kiehl’s daytime one or Boscia or Algenist) under it or I’ll use a simple type moisturizer. I find the coverage full enough for my style (I don’t like looking like I’m wearing foundation) and 1 pump is enough for my whole face so maybe I just don’t go for a heavier coverage. I apply it with a Shiseido foundation brush and then press it in with the flats of my palms. I think I may have influenced Christine to try IT CC (I know I raved on and on about something she later tried and liked; it might have been something else but I think it was this stuff). Sorry to read that you’ve not enjoyed using it.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, dark hair, green eyes
Most used blush of all time? NARS Orgasm. I’ve been using it for years, have replaced finished pans a couple times, and it’s still in regular rotation.
Most used lipstick of all time? I can think of three that I bought multiple times: MAC Taupe, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fleshtone (discontinued), and Laura Mercier Discretion (discontinued).
Most used foundation of all time? Revlon Colorstay in Buff. I used it for so many years, but I absolutely detest it now. Ask me this question again in 10 years and I’ll probably say Estee Lauder Double Wear!!
I used to use that foundation a lot too, and then I realized how bad it was and the undertones were all wrong for me. I agree – I detest it now.
Colorstay always looks like it’s sitting on top of my face, rather than blended into my skin, no matter what technique I use to apply it. These days, my cheapie go-to foundation for days when I’m doing errands and don’t want to waste the good stuff is L’oreal True Match. It’s not great and it doesn’t last for hours, but it does blend in pretty well and it’s good enough for the grocery store!
I can’t wear any L’Oreal foundations as they are too yellow undertoned for me. For the grocery days, I use Rimmel’s Match Perfection in porcelain. It’s a great formula, but it doesn’t last all day either. I also like the Elf Flawless foundation in porcelain too, but I have to order it in.
Your skin tone/coloring: NW45-47
Most used blush of all time? Flushed from Sleek
Most used lipstick of all time? Touch from Mac
Most used foundation of all time? None
Skintone – NC-20-ish
Most Used Blush of All Time – (tie between) Kjaer Weis, Blossoming & Abundance
Most Used Lipstick of All Time – Ilia, Blossom Lady
Most Used Foundation of All Time – Sappho (original discontinued formula)
Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Most used blush of all time? BareMinerals All Over Face Color in Rose Radiance. I wore it almost daily for 10+ years, and still do occasionally.
Most used lipstick of all time? Max Factor Creme Rouge 537 (now DC’d), my perfect red, of which I’ve used 2 or 3 tubes between the mid-90s and early 2000s. An LE DS lipstick (I can’t remember the brand) that was a swirl of bright orange and purple pearls that came out in the early 90s. I bought two tubes as soon as I saw it and used them both up, including scraping out the tubes.
Most used foundation of all time? BareMinerals Original Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Foundation in Fair. My daily go-to for about 15 years, and I still wear it in the summer.
Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair – somewhere between Mac NW05 (if it existed) and NW10.
Most used blush of all time? Tarte celebrated, so sad it’s being discontinued!
Most used lipstick of all time? Tarte amazonian butter lipstick in park ave princess – also discontinued and my heart still hasn’t mended.

Most used lipstick of all time? Clinique Pop Glaze in Sugar Plum Pop
Most used foundation of all time? elf Flawless Finish Foundation
Your skin tone/coloring: warm, fair (between NC10-15); blue eyes; light brown hair with copper highlights
Most used blush of all time? Chanel Tempting Beige (DC, but I have a little left I’m using judiciously); closest I’ve found on the market now is MAC Prism though it’s more orange-leaning compared to Chanel one being more pink-leaning
Most used lipstick of all time? Tough one. I’ll go with Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Desinvolte. (close second is NARS Risky Business, which is a gloss so technically doesn’t qualify…)
Most used foundation of all time? Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water SPF 30 in Fair/Light.
I loved Prism too, but now it is more orange. Try MAC mineralized blush in warm soul for a beige peachy pink with a little shimmer, or Nars Unlawful, same family. Can also use both over a matte blush for some shimmer. Lancôme Mocha Havana is more pinky brown with shimmer, like old Prism with shimmer. Hate when things change, but with MAC, I find differences in colors from individual pot to pro palette refill, and from when they are in individual pots to when they come in a pre- made palettes. Good luck
If you mean currently or in my entire life, here goes! I’ll give both!
Your skin tone/coloring: Medium w olive undertones MAC NC37, Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation N360, Fenty ProFilt’r Foundation 260 or 290, deep brunette, blue-green eyes w/ gold flecks.
Most used blush of all time? Currently: Essence Satin Love or UD Rapture. Before: WnW Pearlescent Pink or one by Jane that was a rosy brownish shade.
Most used lipstick of all time? Currently: MAC Marque or UD Manic. Pre-AZ: Revlon Pink In The Afternoon and Jane Downtown Brown.
Most used foundation of all time? Easy! Revlon Colorstay up until just 3 years ago.
Nancy, I love your choices! Essence Satin Love is gorgeous. It’s probably my most recently most used blush. I’ve been wanting MAC Marque for so long but it’s a bit pricey for me!
If I remember correctly, Revlon ColorStay smelled latex-y to me so stopped using it. I’ve never heard anyone else have that problem though!
Thanks for reminding me that I should get out Rapture blush and show it some love. I do really like it a huge amount but Dior and the MAC ED blushes have kinda stolen the spotlight from all my other blushes, even ones I really love. I gotta spread the love around a bit more.
