I’d pass on Tarte…such a snooze of a brand and their Amazonian Clay blushes aren’t all that great. Colors are a bore and the formula is dry. Just nothing luxurious or impressive to me.
Benefit or Too Faced…so gimmicky. I cannot be bothered!

Favorite season for new makeup collections? Usually Fall but given how harsh the winter is I’m loving certain bits in the Summer collections.
Best brand for innovative releases? Hmm… I’m loving Farmacy for their new sunscreen, but I’m not seeing all that much innovation right now in terms of makeup.
Brand that you’re tired of hearing about? MAC. Stop having so many collections! Limit it to like one each season and then we’ll see. Also TooFaced, Benefit and Tarte because they are just too cutesy-wootsey for me.

Favorite season for new makeup collections? autumn; as much as there are great offerings at the Holidays (and great values), it’s autumn that is my fave time of year generally – I have “school soul” and love the clothes, cosmetics, etc.
Best brand for innovative releases? Becca and Shiseido
Brand that you’re tired of hearing about? Marc Jacobs and those obscenely priced Louboutin polishes
Coloring: light, neutral-ish undertones, Brien hair, brown eyes
Favorite season for releases: Any time except the holidays. There are a lot of sacrifices in quality when it comes to holiday releases (with a few notable exceptions, like KVD Metal Matte last year).
Favorite innovative brand: Probably KVD. And I normally wouldn’t classify Tarte as innovative, but Shape Tape is a national treasure and will probably be the only concealer I use from now on.
Tired of hearing about:
1. Kylie – my understanding is that it’s basically Colour Pop and made at the same facility (the Lip Kits, anyway), so why would I pay for her name?
2. Jeffree Star – Drama, racism, etc, (all of which has been discussed to death).
3. Too Faced – Don’t get me wrong, I love my Chocolate Bars and Love Flush Blushes (and I even like Sweet Peach!), but their quality has gone WAY downhill lately, especially on their LE… And it doesn’t help that they are releasing the same set of shades over and over.
I agree about Kylie. I cannot buy her overpriced Colourpop lol. Nothing about her stuff appeals

I should mention Inglot Cosmetics that have come up with some very good products lately (can’t wait for their Aquastic water-based cream eye shadows to be released).
Brand that you’re tired of hearing about? Too Faced. They should focus on the product quality instead of kitsch packaging detracting from the product itself.
I think the aqua shadows are on their inglot site now.
Not on the Canadian site unfortunately. But I checked the USA site for a peek when I saw your message :). They will be available here in Canada next week, according to the email received from them yesterday. Can’t wait to try them. I’m very pleased with what I’ve purchased from them so far: some AMC lip matte pencils (shades 23, 24), an eye concealer (91) and an AMC face blush liquid (93).

Best brand for innovative releases? MAC – they may release duds sometimes, but they are staying at the forefront. It’s funny, I think innovation is laudable and a great character trait for a company (even if they are duds) but it’s not something that I look for in a company or that would make or break loyalty for me. In fact, being innovative is sometimes a turn off because that means there’s always so much going on (constant releases, new products, new formulations) and it can feel like it’s more about output and quantity than quality, and change for the sake of change. The last innovative products that come to mind that were gamechangers for me are MAC’S Extra Dimension formula and Giorgio Armani’s foundations (Maestro, Lasting Silk, Power Fabric, Designer Lift – all offer different coverages and finishes and they are all flawless – GA is my HG brand for foundation).

I think I’m one of the few not bored or tired of MAC. I don’t really pay attention to their LE releases and I think they are in the forefront of releasing new, innovative permanent products. Their extra dimension eyeshadows are divine . Plus I think many brands still copy their every move!

Hmmm…..I just had my colors done in Seoul by a rep for Cle de Peau who said I have cool yellow undertones so cool colors look best on me. She’s right! All the western makeup SA’s try to put warm colors on me & I look sickly. The test the CdP did was quite simple, she held up a swatch of a very cool pink silk by my jawline then a swatch of saffron orange silk. The pink really made my complexion pop & the orange made me look corpse-like.
Fall is my fave makeup & clothing season.
Innovative releases, hmmm. I’d have to say It Cosmetics for their fab BB creams, foundation, & powders. The cheapie brand Catrice puts out some really fun (and surprisingly good quality for the price) new products in trendy shades & finishes too.
Too Faced- Yup, I’m sick of the cutesy packaging, the candy-scented makeup, the products that do not perform well also.

Hourglass, I’m in love with the lip stylos. Also love how they work on one thing to get it great quality instead of releasing a tonne of items. ABH, I think they have done a great job at releasing new amazing products and being consistent.
Too Faced, don’t get me wrong I love the products I have but they just seem to continue to rush releasing products at a detriment to the quality and they are just overhyping themselves a lot of the time.
