Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name (blue-green eyes, dark hair)

Go-to lip balm? Laneige Gummi Bears Lip Mask or Jack Black Lip Balm. Depending on season and condition of my lips.

Go-to hand cream? Aveeno Eczema Therapy Cream mixed with some of The Ordinary Rose Hip oil.

Go-to body cream? My favorite one is Sol de Janairo Bum-Bum Cream if it’s long sleeve weather or I’m staying indoors or in a vehicle. Otherwise, I use a moisturizing sunscreen.

Go-to lip balm? Laniege lip sleeping mask, all the time.

Go-to hand cream? I don’t have a favourite, just whatever is handy.

Go-to body cream? Embryolisse lait creme fluid.

Lip balm I usually make myself. Equal parts beeswax, mango seed butter, coconut oil, plus an extra wodge of beeswax, microwave to melt together, stir, pour into a clean twist-up balm tube. (This is also a good way to use up the last dregs of a beloved lipstick — scoop out of its base, melt with other ingredients, you got a tinted balm, woo.)

Hand lotion : I’ve got bottles of Mrs Meyers all over the house. Inexpensive, comes in a ton of delightful scents, VERY light and clean feeling. I’m working with paper and wood and bamboo and fabric all day, I can’t have greasy hands!

Body moisturizer : Nubian Heritage, no contest. Tons of shea butter, mango butter, coconut oil, jojoba, etc, lovely fragrances, and a pretty great value at about $13 for 13oz. I don’t even miss my old Bliss or Body Shop body butters. Good thing, bc they both changed their formulas for the [muuuuuuch] worse.

Go-to lip balm? Burt’s Bees Red Dahlia lip balm or Kiehl’s Butterstick
Go-to hand cream? Just one??? No chance…. Cake Beauty Heavy Cream or Kiehl’s again – Ultimate Strength Hand Cream or their Intensive Treatment and Moisturizer for Dry or Callused Areas; I also like O’Keefe’s Working Hands, Neutrogena Norwegian Formula and some very pretty ones released a few years ago by the V&A and featuring designs on the packaging by the likes of William Morris and J.H. Dearle
Go-to body cream? It used to be Kiehl’s Creme de Corps until my massive bottle started turning very yellow and staining my clothes, towels and bedding yellow…weird! Now, it’s body butters from Soap and Glory or The Body Shop (especially their shea body butter which they used to have from time to time in massive tubs but no longer and I also read recently that their body butters have been reformulated to be “clean” and “vegan” and they’re not very good any more so I may be on the hunt for something else). I also really love The Body Shop’s Japanese Camellia and Hawaiian Kukui Body Butters/Creams….both are very hydrating and smell so soothing and delicious. Melkfett cream from Germany (Ombra used to make a wonderful one that is no longer available and I’ve been able to find another brand that doesn’t smell nearly as nice but does work effectively) is also nice, as are butters from Queen Helene and Palmers (living in Canada with the harsh winters and drying indoor heat, this Canadian girl uses a LOT of wonderful body moisturizers….I could go on and on about some body oils and lotions and all sorts of other dryness/itch fighting products I love).

I had a mini of Kiehl’s Creme de Corps at my office (using it as a hand cream) before the pandemic. One year and a half later when I returned to the office it had the weirdest shade of yellow possible. I threw it immediately in the trash… I guess cosmetics do expire. 😆

So it’s not just me!!! My kids got me a huge (1 liter, I think) bottle for Mother’s Day a while back and I was so happy that I could use it lavishly. But then I put it aside for another body lotion or cream and when I went back to it – YELLOW. And there was still a lot of it left, which was really disappointing! I’ve never had that happen with another body lotion, ever!

Lip Balm: lately it’s been Balm dot com from Glossier, my lips love it. I need the lanolin!

Hand Cream: boring old O’Keeffe’s Working Hands in the tube. Ever since my fiance bought it for himself I confiscated it, I can use it and immediately go back to my crafts without having to wait for it to sink in.

Body Lotion: I don’t really have a loyalty–I’ve been switching them out, I used to use Clinique Deep Comfort body lotion all the time and maybe I need to revisit that, some of the ones lately have been irritating my skin.

Go-to lip balm? Aquaphor
Go-to hand cream?
Go-to body cream? For both, I use something like Jergens Ultra Healing or Vanicream. I find that Sol de Janerio, Bath & Bodyworks, Loccitane etc all are over priced, super thin, too much fragrance, aren’t super moisturizing and not worth the hype. I’ve worked super hard the last 2-3 years to purge my collection from that stuff and instead I keep it simple vs trendy! Works so much better and I never have dry, chapped or peeling skin and I live in very cold climate for 4-5 months

Skin tone/coloring: Neutral leaning warm. I look very very yellow next to say, a white t-shirt.

Go-to lip balm: Vaseline petroleum jelly in the small soft tubes. Works great for moisturizing on its own or under/over a lipstick, without changing lipstick color and texture. As for lip gloss, Kosas Wet Lip Oil in Dip is one of the few formulas I can tolerate because it’s not sticky.

Go-to hand/body cream: It’s the same for both: CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion. It absorbs fast but does a great job moisturizing my combination skin and and I like that there are no fragrances or weird ingredients. Interestingly, it’s way too rough for my face but the rest of my body loves it.

Go-to lip balm? Paula’s Choice Lipscreen

Go-to hand cream? I just buy a mini of the Paula’s Choice RESIST Skin Restoring Moisturizer with SPF 50 for on the go (I don’t like to carry big things, it’s the most hydrating travel sized SPF cream), but at home I just use my body cream as hand moisturizer.

Go-to body cream? Paula’s Choice Ultra-Rich Soothing Body Butter

Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones

Go-to lip balm? Dermal lip balm in the pot

Go-to hand cream? I am loving Weeleda’s Body butter for a hand cream lately. Everything Weeleda is pretty good. It’s made in Germany and is a tiny bit pricier but well worth it.

Go-to body cream? Weeleda’s Body Butter or CeraVe’s Moisturising cream in the tub.

Your skin tone/colouring: Tan/Deep neutral undertones

Go-to lip balm? Tatcha lip mask

Go-to hand cream? L’Occitane

Go-to body cream? Kiehl’s (also my very favorite overall body product)

Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green eyes, warm brown hair.

Go-to lip balm? For daytime, the Lanolips tinted balm; for nighttime, Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.

Go-to hand cream? For daytime, Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion; for nighttime, O’Keefes Working Hands in the jar. That stuff is SO good and I swear heals any crack or blister I may have faster than it would normally heal.

Go-to body cream? I don’t really have one! Lately I’m using the Hempz Peppermint Candy one and it smells lovely.

Your skin tone/coloring: Porcelain, cool yellow undertones with t-zone redness. Dry, sensitive.

Go-to lip balm? Burt’s Bees during the day, Lano 101 ointment at night (right now the strawberry multi-balm).

Go-to hand cream? Hempz milk & honey hand & foot creme at home, one by the kitchen sink and one in the master bathroom. Burt’s Bees hand cream in my purse (right now orange blossom & pistachio).

Go-to body cream? SheaMoisture manuka honey & yogurt skin renewal moisturizer.

Go-to hand cream? By Terry baume de rose hand creame , Nuxe dry oil
Go-to body cream? Soak Sunday Rose Utopia body oil/body butter

Helene Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: Above, grey – green eyes and dark brown hair.
Go-to lip balm? Right now Weleda either the balm like one or the more watery one. I also like Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm, a lanolin, very thick balm.
Go-to hand cream? Still searching. I’m going to make a list of what everyone else loves and see what I can easily get here, and when I’ve finished all the tubes I find around the house I’ll start trying out new ones.
Go-to body cream? Same as with the hand cream.
