What foundation do you use? I wear MAC NC50 Studio Fix but am looking for a liquid.
Hate to just jump into the conversation (sorry!), but I’m also an NC50 in MAC and I’ve managed to come across a couple liquids you might want to try. The following are my equivalents:
– Make Up For Ever Face & Body 12 (I also know some ladies who are NC50 and use shade 44 OR 12 & 44 equally mixed)

St. Ives Apricot Scrub is my favorite facial cleanser. So cheap and also exfoiliates!
Perhaps you’re aware of this, and have decided that it’s not a problem for you, but the St. Ives scrub is supposed to be bad for your skin.
My best friend told me that her dermatologist told her to stop using it immediately.
Apparently the apricot pits cause a lot of little scratches in your skin, and can make acne worse. It’s too harsh for your face.
I was sad to hear that, because I used to be a fan.
Thanks for telling me this. I have very sensitive skin and just bought two off these because they were so cheap. Now I know why. I’ll use them for my body but not for my face.
Oh my gosh I had no clue!!! I’ll have to do some research! That saddens me because I always noticed how smooth my face was after using it for a couple days. I always have a zit or two but nothing major so I never noticed a difference in acne.

I read on Paula’s Choice that Salicylic Acid is a better to exfoliate with than a scrub anyway because it gets both the top skin and the pores, maybe a cleanser with that it it would be a good substitute? The apricot still feels great on hands and legs, though!

skincare: Neutrogena Naturals Moisturizer…. love it must repurchase
Make-up: Benefit Hello Flawless powder in Amber… nice, but they don’t give you enough product for the price so no repurchase
hair care: I wash my hair with baking soda dissolved in water : ) So I use up a box of baking soda every 3-5 months.
Interesting hair care! I wonder for what hair type it is recommended/suited… I like ‘grandma’s remedies’ like that and would be willing to give it a go!
I use it because I have dreadlocks, and normal shampoos are too conditioning and leave buildup in dreads! But it can work for all hair types. I would suggest that if you have thin/fragile hair to use a rinse made of apple cider vinegar dissolved in water after the baking soda wash to neutralize the pH of your hair (as baking soda is extremely basic). I usually don’t though, and haven’t have any problems in the two years I’ve been shampoo free.
Another thing is that this is not something to do all the time. I can wash with only baking soda because I only wash my hair once a week. It is too harsh to do daily.
Oh man, this is an important one: baking soda drastically strips hair dye. So dyed ladies need not apply! It will strip that color right out.
Oh, thanks! I’m looking to change my color drastically, so maybe baking soda will work to get the rest of the blue out so I don’t have to re-bleach.
It definitely works and I’ve suggested it to other people to strip dye with good results! The best way to do it is to heat up a pot of water extremely hot (not boiling or anything, of course), dissolve like 1/2- 1 cup of baking soda in it (until the water is cloudy looking) and then lay and soak your hair in it for like 30 minutes. We call it a “deep clean” among dreaddy folk, it strips all the dirt (and dye) out of the hair : )

Skincare Product: Neutrogena fresh foaming cleanser. I got it because I didn’t want to keep using an acne wash on my face every time I wanted to remove makeup. It’s nice. It actually seemed more gentle to me than Cetaphil. It was better at getting makeup off than the stuff I replaced it with (Burt’s Bees brand.)
Makeup Product: bareMinerals primer. I replaced it with the same stuff, because I like it. I keep meaning to test it against monistat, though.
Hair Care: I don’t use anything special for my hair. I use the Head & Shoulders 2-in-1 with conditioner, and then I follow that up with more conditioner (TRESemme curly, which we get for my boyfriend.)
I like shampoo bars for their lack of plastic bottle waste, but the last one I got was full of herbs and things, and it clogged my shower drain like nobodies business. They’re also not awesome for dandruff. I should try the Lush dandruff bar, but reviews say it smells bad.
I haven’t used the bareMinerals primer but I have used monistat (haha sounds weird to say that). I actually like it. I find that I dont have any concealer oxidation, which was the main reason why I decided to use a “primer” in the first place.
Monistat is suppose to help women with thinning hair. Heard on radio, announcer referenced a study.

I love the Revlon Butters and I tried the She M. mask. I bought it from Target. I am currently wearing conrows under a wig. I have dry hair. I did recently purchase the As I Am Co-Wash.
OMG, I am also rocking the cornrows and wig look right now! lol I’m pregnant and have gotten too lazy to do my natural hair on the regular, so it works for me! I also have dry hair, and I use the SM Curl Enhancing Smoothie along with extra virgin olive oil to keep my hair moisturized. It works wonders for me! I’ve heard of the As I Am Conditioner. I’m going to look up the reviews and maybe give it a try because I love a good, moisturizing conditioner. I hope it works for you!

Your skin tone/coloring: Fair to light with warm undertones, I’m currently smack bang between NC15 and NC20 in Studio Fix Fluid. Although, I just got a sample of Prolongwear concealer in NC20 and it’s SO fair!! I know each product varies, but wow.
Last skincare product you finished? Garnier Youthful Radiance
Multi-Action Night Cream. I liked it, but the fragrance was a bit much, and it stung my sensitive areas – my upper lip area and orbital bone. I used most of it on my neck and chest haha – girls, everything that goes on your face should go on your neck and décolletage!
Last makeup product you finished? NYX Studio Perfect Photo Loving Primer. It was pretty much straight silicone lol, and behaved as much! It did minimize pores, but it was nothing special. I’ve never found a primer that I’ve LOVED.
Last hair care product you finished? Redken Color Extend Conditioner. I really liked it – I actually repurchased it when I ran out! It’s a shame I’ve had to go so expensive to get a product that works well for me. I find I can’t use supermarket haircare at all anymore – my hair goes wiry and becomes really unmanagable.

as for eyeshadows and lipsticks, not yet, though I had a lipstick from ages ago that’s been used up to about 10% left- that’s about it.
