Favorite setting powder? RCMA No Color Powder.

Favorite finishing powder? For winter, WnW Reserve Your Cabana. For summer, Hourglass Dim Light Ambient Lighting Powder.

Favorite face primer? Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer or Elf Poreless Putty Primer under foundation, or FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer for under BB cream. If I’m getting a lot of rosacea issues, then I love Smashbox Reduce Redness Primer.

I had sort of forgotten about the RCMA No Colour Powder. It is in a drawer somewhere. I remember when you couldn’t buy it as it was sold out everywhere for about 4 months. I think Kathleen Lights started the craze! I will have to dig it out and see what I think of it now. I also have a box of the Ben Nye Rose Petal Powder that I use to love and haven’t used in forever. It is probably sitting right next to the RCMA.

Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes s&p hair

Favorite setting powder? Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder for night, RCMA No Color Powder for day.

Favorite finishing powder? Guerlain Meteorite Pearls is the only finishing powder I’ve ever used. I’m still trying to get the hang of it!

Favorite face primer? I don’t use them.

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one. I sometimes think the “need” for these various layers of products (the whole “essence/pre-serum” thing is similar, in my opinion) is manufactured by the cosmetics industry to compel us to buy more “stuff”. Most of the powders I use seem to work equally well to “set” and to “finish” my face.

Favorite setting powder?
I guessss the BareMinerals original mineral veil. It’s fine but I wouldn’t mind getting swept off my feet by something else once I finish this one.

Favorite finishing powder?
I don’t think I have a finishing powder? I’m ignorant about these lol. An employee at Sephora once explained the concept to me but I just use powder to set. I wouldn’t hate trying the Hourglass one some day but it’s low on the list of things I’m interested in.

Favorite face primer?
Again, BareMinerals original primer is my go-to at the moment but once I finish this tube I was thinking of getting the Tatcha mini. Any thoughts?

Your skin tone/coloring: Light-medium with warm yellow undertones, dark brown hair and eyes

Favorite setting powder? Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Matte Powder Foundation (I always use powder foundations as setting powder); runner ups would be Clinique Stay-Matte Universal Blotting Powder (can you tell I don’t like using products for what they are marketed for 😆 ) and the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Skin-Transforming Powder

Favorite finishing powder? I don’t actually use finishing powders, I think the closest to this would be MAC Emphasize, which I use more to subtly highlight as the end some parts of my face that look too dull.

Favorite face primer? Hourglass Mineral Veil (this was an easy one); but I do also like Paula’s Choice Primer Serum.

Favorite setting powder? TF Sweet Peach by a mile. I have a little bit of L’Oreal Hydra Perfect powder, which I used to love, and I decided to try to use it up before I move. It is nothing compared to Too Faced, and it made me look so dry and old.
Favorite finishing powder? Hourglass Diffused Light, which has been my holy grail for years–I have finished up three at this point, I believe? And I never finish makeup! I also really, really like Kiko Milano Radiant Fusion Finishing Powder as a cheaper kinda-dupe, even though in reality they are completely different animals. Hourglass does have a bit of sparkle to it, bit I think Kiko is a little more luminous/natural finish by comparison.
Favorite face primer? Hourglass Veil if I need my makeup to stay on for an extended amount of time, but I also often just use Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel as a kind of primer since it has SPF and a nice tacky-but-not-sticky consistency, making it double as a SPF/moisturizer and a primer. I am still playing around with Touch in Sol No Poreblem too, but I don’t think it has reached holy grail status.

Your skin tone/coloring: Chanel’s VA B10. Fair, neutral with some redness

Favorite setting powder? Currently using Guerlains La Violette Powder and Revlon’s Candid pending the day.

Favorite finishing powder? Guerlains Meteorites

Favorite face primer? Sisley’s Double Tenseur – but I don’t feel like spending the money on it.

Favorite setting powder? even after all these years, I STILL don’t know the difference between a setting powder and a finishing powder and I find them pretty interchangeable. So, I’ll say, for both questions, Hourglass Veil loose powder and Too Faced Peach Blur Finishing Powder (I think that’s the name)
Favorite finishing powder? See above – Hourglass Veil loose powder and Too Faced Peach Blur Finishing Powder
Favorite face primer? Becca Backlight Priming Filter or Farsali Liquid Glass Radiance Serum (I love them both, with a wee bit of a preference for the Becca one)

Favorite setting powder? I am a powder fiend. I just like swishing it on with a brush and it makes me feel like a Hollywood movie star! I have several favorites and sometimes use more than one depending on what I am trying to accomplish. I like IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores for my T-Zone, Ilia Translucent Powder around the perimeter and Huda Easy Bake Powder if I am just looking for a quick dust off.
Favorite finishing powder? Guerlain Meteorites is my favorite and most often used finishing powder. I have several others that I like but I always come back to Guerlain. I use the shade 02 Claire.
Favorite face primer? I am always changing primers because I am sure there is a better one out there. While I search for it I most frequently use Smashbox Primerizer and Benefit Hangover.

Favorite setting powder? Milani Prep+Set+Glow Illuminating Transparent Face Powder
Favorite finishing powder? Too Faced Peach Blur Translucent Smoothing Finishing Powder
Favorite face primer? Stila One Step Correct Serum Primer – If I need to even out surface redness this does the job perfectly!

Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones

Favourite setting powder? I just use the one and done Rimmel Matte Translucent finishing/setting powder.

Favourite finishing powder? As above

Favourite face primer? Nude by Nature Airbrush primer – I have used this for at least 4 years. Good stuff.

Mary Avatar

I don’t use setting powder or finishing powder because I use W3LL 3 People mineral powder foundation.

Your skin tone/coloring:
– Fair-Light with Neutral Undertones

Favorite setting powder?
– Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder but I’m planning on purchasing/trying the Jeffree Star Magic Star Translucent Powder.

Favorite finishing powder?
– Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pressed Powder (I know, I know! I love it but won’t be repurchasing so if you know of a great dupe, I would be forever thankful)

Favorite face primer?
Urban Decay Optical Illusion Complexion Primer (one of my most repurchased items)

Your skin tone/coloring: fair neutral with rosy undertones. Dark brown eyes.
Favorite setting powder? Bare Minerals Matte Powder foundation in Fair Ivory 02. I’m a Retin-A user and had to give up liquid foundation as it sticks to the ‘peelies’ and looks gross. Bare Minerals just floats over everything and makes my skin look perfect. As such my foundation is my setting powder and my concealer.
Favorite finishing powder? Toss-up between IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores and BM Mineral Veil.
Favorite face primer? Touch in Sol No Poreblem primer. Love it.
