Survey Says... February 17th, 2021
Happy Wednesday! Here's this week's survey, which you can copy and paste and share as a comment.
- Your skin tone/coloring:
- Most used blush of all time?
- Most used lipstick of all time?
- Most used foundation of all time?
Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool
Most used blush of all time? it’s a toss up between Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush and MAC Sweet Sentiment Mineralize (LE from years ago but still goin’ strong)
Most used lipstick of all time? HA – no question – it’s MAC Craving
Most used foundation of all time? IT CC Cream; for a “real” foundation, one of the Dior Forever ones that I think has been discontinued and replaced with another formula (of course! I find my ultimate foundation and it gets wiped off the face of the earth!)
Your skin tone/coloring: under name
Most used blush of all time? Clarins; it was the 4-color blush, and it was the peachy color (I think #1?) I miss it so much.
Most used lipstick of all time? Lisa Eldridge Fawn and Muse
Most used foundation of all time? Chanel Le Velvet
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name (blue-green eyes, dark hair).
Most used blush of all time? Like literally EVER? Either WnW Pearlescent Pink or Nyx Pinched. Probably a tie.
Most used lipstick of all time? Oh boy, but I have to go way back to when I actually finished tubes! A 3-way tie between Revlon Pink In The Afternoon, Revlon Colorstay in Sienna and a lipstick by Jane that I went though several tubes of back in the 90’s called…I cannot remember! Might have been Downtown Brown or something?
Most used foundation of all time? Definitely Revlon Colorstay for normal to oily in *something* Golden. I’m bad about remembering old names!
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Most used blush of all time? Probably Hourglass Mood Exposure.
Most used lipstick of all time? Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Musk. I finally used it all the way up. I think I have a dupe in MAC Creamsheen in Modesty, though.
Most used foundation of all time? The Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream. I’m on my third tube!
Your skin tone/coloring: Pale, neutral/cool
Most used blush of all time? Etude House Strawberry Choux, Clinique Pansy Pop
Most used lipstick of all time? Urban Decay Sheer Rapture (RIP)
Most used foundation of all time? Tarte BB Cream. It’s weird to have a staple product from a brand I don’t otherwise have much interest in, lol.
I’m pale – not palest, but close. Usually the lightest or next to lightest shade of foundation, depending on the breadth of range. Neutral to slight pink undertones.
Most used blush is probably Nars Orgasm, but I don’t use it any more. I used Deep Throat for a while, but am moving away from high shimmer. I like Nars’ Impassioned, the Air Matte in Freedom (unlike Christine’s experience, I could apply it by tapping lightly to get a buildable look), and MUFE in S300.
Lipstick in Lipstick Queen Saint Pinky Nude, closely followed by YSL le Nu and YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Nude Lavalliere.
Foundation is probably Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Aqua Nude, but that’s been discontinued. I love Chantecaille Future Skin and Clinique’s Even Better Glow – not sure which one will replace the Guerlain!
Your skin tone/ coloring: light with neutral undertones
Most used blush of all time? Milani Luminoso
Most used lipstick of all time? Mac Velvet Teddy
Most used foundation of all time? Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in 30NN
Your skin tone/coloring: pale/yellow, dark hair, blue eyes
Most used blush of all time? Illamasqua Naked Rose, probably. It is my all-time favorite, even though I still somehow have not even hit pan on it. It just goes on and on and on.
Most used lipstick of all time? MAC Rubia, the only lipstick I’ve ever finished (there’s a nub left and every year or so I think about sending it off to that lab that will replicate it.) I also basically finished a tube of L’Oreal Ravishing Red from the Infallible line–it was near the bottom and it started smelling weird so I tossed it.
Most used foundation of all time? Either L’Oreal True Match or Revlon Colorstay. Over the years, I’ve been through so many bottles of both. NYX Total Control could be a contender as well, but since it hasn’t been around as long as the others, I think they hold the title.
Your skin tone/coloring: light, muted cool
Most used blush of all time? Glossier Puff. It’s a bummer about Outta the Gloss, I’m definitely looking for a replacement.
Most used lipstick of all time? NARS Dragon Girl
Most used foundation of all time? MUFE Full Cover Concealer soft applied. Fenty 150 on the rare occasion I wear a real foundation.
Your skin tone/coloring: light, MAC NC 20
Most used blush of all time? NARS Orgasm or Clinique Nude Pop
Most used lipstick of all time? MAC Velvet Teddy or MAc Viva Glam V
Most used foundation of all time Revlon Colorstay or L’Oréal Infallible
Your skin tone/coloring: above with blue-green eyes and reddish hair.
Most used blush of all time? it has to be a toss up between Benefit Coralista and Horizon de Chanel. I used up a Lancome limited edition blush that was a mix between the two, and it was my absolute go-to until the end – so much so that the label is not visible anymore! I also reach out for Milani’s Tea Rose quite regularly.
Most used lipstick of all time? Chanel Boy, no question. My true MLBB, I have never been able to find anything else that would make my lips look like that.
Most used foundation of all time? Wow, I guess it’s Chanel again! Vitalumiere Aqua has been my true favorite through thick and thin. Wore it at my graduation, defense, and wedding!
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Most used blush of all time? BareMinerals All Over Face Color in Rose Radiance. I wore it as my blush almost every day through the 2000s and the early ’10s.
Most used lipstick of all time? In the late 80s-early ’90s, I went through three tubes of a drug store lipstick that was a lbright orange swirled with purple that made a stunning warm fuchsia on the lips. I have no idea what it was called. I think the brand was Revlon or maybe L’oreal, but I’m not sure after three decades.
Most used foundation of all time? BareMinerals Original Loose Powder Foundation.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light medium with warm yellow undertone, dark brown hair and eyes
Most used blush of all time? MAC Harmony (although Plumful is my favorite)
Most used lipstick of all time? MAC Velvet Teddy, the only lipstick I truly ever finished. But most re-purchased and longest in my collection is always Diva.
Most used foundation of all time? Estee Lauder Double Wear, there’s no doubt in here.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, neutral
Most used blush of all time? Anastasia Beverly Hills trio in Pink Passion
Most used lipstick of all time? Urban Decay in Backtalk
Most used foundation of all time? Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte in 120 (formerly Urban Decay Naked Skin in shade 1.0, but it was sadly discontinued 🙁 )
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Most used blush of all time? I have switched and switched my blushes around a lot over the past few years, looking for a good one. EA’s Sweet Peach was great, but I am liking Clinique’s Melon Pop better now.
Most used lipstick of all time? That’s a hard one for me – probably CP’s Foolish and Tea Thyme I have used the most in the past couple of years, with Maybelline’s Spice for Me (and now Mauve for Me).
I also loved the now d/c Milani’s Cinnamon Spice and Bronze Beauty lipsticks as well.
Most used foundation of all time? Again, another holy grail search – but for the past few years it’s been L’Oreal’s True Match foundation in Porcelain Rose. Apart from being light and easy to apply, it is also often on sale and easily accessible to me. I did love Clarin’s Everlasting foundation in Linen, but that has been d/c too.
Clarins has d/c’d so much of their great stuff – makeup and skincare (their cleansing cream was first rate; I’d have bought backups had I known; ditto their less costly neck cream – the only neck cream I’ve ever used that seemed to make a difference). Their foundations that were so good – GONE. Their eyeshadows that were so good – GONE. Their Rouge Prodige line of lipsticks – the absolutely BEST longer wearing lipstick formulation and in some wonderful colours – GONE! They’ve brought out a bunch of new skin care, clearly to appeal to a younger demographic but, really, do they think 20-somethings are going to flock to Clarins? I don’t think so!
Your skin tone/coloring: — MAC NC20, NW20
Most used blush of all time?
— Laura Geller Pink Grapefruit
Most used lipstick of all time?
— BB Luxe Pink Nude, MAC Lady Danger
Most used foundation of all time?
— MAC Face & Body, MAC Mineralize Liquid Foundation
Your skin tone/coloring: light medium
Most used blush of all time? YSL Creme de Blush in Powdery Rose
Most used lipstick of all time? Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria
Most used foundation of all time? Ever Skin Daylight Tinted Moisturizer in Light and Medium mixed
Your skin tone/coloring: Up above.
Most used blush of all time? Toss up between Lancome Cedar Rose and Clinique Heather Pop, but I’m pretty sure its Cedar Rose.
Most used lipstick of all time? Lancome Amande Sucree. I’ve must have used 20 tunes of this lipstick over the last 20 years. Still love it.
Most used foundation of all time? Lancome Teint Idole.
I see a pattern with Laancome, lol. I do think its a bit under-rated.
Your skin tone/coloring: above
Most used blush of all time? Tarte Exposed blush
Most used lipstick of all time? Guerlain Chant d’Aromes
Most used foundation of all time? Bare Minerals Original mineral foundation
Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool skin (foundation matches: Fenty Pro Filt’r 110, Urban Decay All Nighter 2.5, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear 2.0 Mont Blanc, Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist Light EF 02, L’Oreal True Match C3 Creamy Natural), gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde/blue strands. My everyday base products are Fenty-Amber Match Stick as cheek contour and Pro Filt’r concealer and Soft Matte foundation in 110.
Most used blush of all time? I just hit pan on ColourPop Thnks fr th Mmrs today, so I’m going to go with that, although as a teen I used a now-defunct shade of Revlon powder blush that I believe was called something along the lines of Silky Plum.
Most used lipstick of all time? I don’t know! Maybe Revlon Super Lustrous Paparazzi Pink? It’s a shimmery pale pink that comes back for a brief period of time maybe once every 10 years.
Most used foundation of all time? Either the CoverGirl cream-to-powder foundation I used as a teen-they don’t make it anymore, but the closest thing I can currently find is their Clean Powder Foundation-or my beloved Fenty Pro Filt’r 110. Eventually the Fenty will end up taking the crown.
Skin tone: NC15, hair color: medium brown with mix of grey/auburn, eyes: light brown/hazel. I’m 61 and I haven’t been applying ‘full face’ as frequently last few years as I’m retired. I would my most used foundation would be a tie between long discontinued Max Factor ultralucent cream foundation in ivory and Prescriptives Virtual Skin in Fresh Cream. Blush: Max Factor Ultralucent cream blush in mauve (gorgeous blush color and texture). Lipstick: I can’t recall all the lipsticks but there’s was a beloved one by L’Oreal: Cafe Rose (naturally discontinued decades ago) but one I went thru a couple tubes of in the 90’s was Revlon Moisturous in Rosewater. I won’t buy Revlon anymore as they discontinue everything I like. Current favorite is Urban Decay Rapture.
Your skin tone/coloring: NC20 (light/medium skin tone) leaning neutral, can reach NC25 in summer.
Most used blush of all time? MAC Stereo Rose, I used one whole up!
Most used lipstick of all time? It’s a bit of a stretch since I change constantly, but I would go for MAC Brick-o-la. I am on my second tube, it’s a great MLBB for me.
Most used foundation of all time? MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation in NC20, I think this is my 4th or 5th one. Runner-up is Maybelline Super Stay 24h foundation, both ideal to cover the redness of my rosacea!
I love Brick-o-la but I had a practically unused tube turn bad on me (the smell was the give-away), which I’ve never had in a MAC lipstick before. But I bought a new one – that’s how much I like the shade! I remember when Stereo Rose came out and there was such a rush for people to get it. I bought the more pink shade that I think came out at the same time. Both were beautiful and so in demand that I wonder why Stereo Rose wasn’t made permanent.
Skin tone/coloring: (Above), hazel eyes, blond hair
Most used blush of all time:
That’s hard as I use a different one almost every day, but historically from furthest back to now: Nars Orgasm, Benefit Dandelion, Dior Rosy Glow and now Hourglass (Luminous Flush) and Patrick Ta (She’s So LA).
Most used lipstick of all time:
Becca Sugar I suspect
Most used foundation of all time:
Tarte (in various formulations), but now I prefer It Cosmetics CC+ Illuminating.
Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool
Most used blush of all time: ELF in Tickled Pink – went through 3 or 4 of these. Don’t use it anymore.
Most used lipstick of all time? Clinique Black Honey – went through 7 tubes. Last used about 10 years ago.
Most used foundation: Ever? Revlon Colorstay Recent? MAC Full Coverage Foundation (until this year)
Your skin tone/coloring: light medium neutral.
Most used blush of all time? I switch blushes almost daily but most probably the Tom Ford Love Lust since it is the only one I ever finished 🙂
Most used lipstick of all time? NARS Barbara or MAC Enchanted one (LE)
Most used foundation of all time? Easily the EL Double Wear (in 2N2)
Your skin tone/coloring: Pale, neutral/olive (MUFE Y215 is a pretty good match)
Most used blush of all time? Hard to say, since I’m such a blush hound, but probably NARS Impassioned! It didn’t get a great review on release, but it works great for me and goes with a lot of looks.
Most used lipstick of all time? Historically, MAC Relentlessly Red. It’s my confidence booster in a tube! I don’t use it as much as I used to, but it’s still a go-to for interviews/etc.
Most used foundation of all time? MUFE Ultra HD liquid foundation. It always, always, always looks good. Great texture, great color match for me, long wearing and comfortable. I think I’ve been through like 5-6 bottles which is a lot for me.
Your skin tone/coloring: medium tan, yellow undertones
Most used blush of all time? MAC sincere, appears to be discontinued sadly. Breath of plum is a close second
Most used lipstick of all time? MAC touch. I have gone through several tubes but probably mostly because it is so sheer and needs reapplication
Most used foundation of all time? Nars in Stromboli, have gone through different iterations of the formula. My favorite is the natural radiant one but is not my most used one because it is relatively more recent.
