Survey Says... April 29th, 2020
Happy Wednesday! Here's this week's survey, which you can copy and paste and share as a comment.
- Your skin tone/coloring:
- Three products you couldn’t put down this month?
- Favorite lip product this month?
- Favorite eyeshadows this month?
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? Natasha Denona Mini Retro palette, Glossier Cloud paint in Beam, and it’s a tie between the ND Mini Bloom Highlighting Blush and the Em Cosmetics Magic Hour blush, which I mostly layered over top of Beam.
Favorite lip product this month? It’s a three way tie: Em Cosmetics True Gloss in Secret Blush, Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Lipstick in Nude Illuminator, and Perricone MD No Makeup Lipstick (the original).
Favorite eyeshadows this month? Just generally, I’ve really enjoyed pairing greens and pinks together this month. A little typical for spring, yes, but I’ve paired olives and other gross greens with pinks and loved how the looks came out. But ND is my favorite eyeshadow formula always.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, s&p hair
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? I haven’t used much makeup, but I’ve used brow pencils every day because I look weird without it. I alternate between Benefit Goof Proof and NYX Microbrow. The third product I use every day is Lancome Effacernes concealer because my face decided to break out.
Favorite lip product this month? Aquaphor Lip Repair. I don’t wear lipstick anymore, except for once-a-week zoom happy hours. So lip balm is my new go-to.
Favorite eyeshadows this month? I just started having fun playing with palettes again a few days ago, but for the past month on the days when I wore eye makeup I used Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks because they’re so quick and easy. Favorite shades are Amethyst, Burnished Bronze, and Au Natural.
Thanks for reminding me to use my Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks. I have several small ones (including Au Naturel and Amethyst from a holiday set) but the one I like best is the full sized Khaki one I got quite a while back and always forget to wear! If the stores ever reopen, I need to check out Burnished Bronze.
If the stores do not reopen, or if they have to have an online only presence, they will HAVE to improve the swatches. Right now, it’s a pig in a poke until we come here.

Just picked up Amethyst and Burnished Bronze in the Sephora sale!
Your skin tone/coloring:
NC10-ish (Very Fair Neutral leaning warm)
Three products you couldn’t put down this month?
-Benefit Cheek Stars Reunion Palette (the one with Georgia blush)
-Natasha Denona Biba Palette
-Sonia G Face Pro
Favorite lip product this month?
Laneige Lip Mask (I wear this all the time since it is super moisturizing and when wearing a face mask no risk of getting lipstick/gloss everywhere)
Favorite eyeshadows this month?
-Urban Decay Solstice Moondust
-MAC Rose before Bros
-Tom Ford Honeymoon Quad
Your skin tone/coloring: Below my name
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? Trish McEvoy Beauty Balm, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair CBD Oil, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. I am hate panning the Trish McEvoy because I wear spf everyday even when I don’t go out and now no one sees me. I just can’t bring myself to toss something so expensive. I have been using both FAB products on my hands because all my hand products have fragrance and that’s irritating right now.
Favorite lip product this month? Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask in the red color
Favorite eyeshadows this month? A mashup of ABH Jackie Aina and MR. Sponsored, Zambian, or Soleil on my lids and Burnt Orange or Raw Sienna in my crease. I depotted a few shades from the Jackie Aina and substituted a few from MR so I have the palette I want.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve (for obvious reasons), Saje Antimicrobial Hand Lotion (ditto), Too Faced Cutie Pie Bronzer
Favorite lip product this month? as always, MAC Craving is at the top of my list and Kiehl’s Simply Rose Butterstick and Smashbox Red Rage lipstick are keeping it company!
Favorite eyeshadows this month? MAC Tempting (I’d forgot how much I love that shadow) and the ABH Sultry palette but the “nice” thing about this time is that I can go a bit wild with all the various shadows and palettes I have.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light-medium with yellow warm undertone, dark brown hair and eyes
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? Hand cream, Sal Suds (which I use diluted as hand soap) and Seventh Generation Disinfectant spray 😆
But otherwise, make-up wise it was the concealer, mascara and brow gel… the basis on minimal make-up (or every other make-up)
Favorite lip product this month? Paula’s Choice Lip Balm SPF 50
I didn’t even bothered with lipstick, I just preferred to keep my lips protected and hydrated
Favorite eyeshadows this month? MAC Haux and MAC Omega for simple one eyeshadow looks
Your skin tone/coloring: see above plus possible light olive UT, freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? MAC Teddy eye kohl, foundation samples (for Zoom, no one knows if the color matches!), Burberry Earthy Light Glow blush (contour for Zoom).
Favorite lip product this month? Fresh Brown Sugar Lip Scrub and whipped shea butter.
Favorite eyeshadows this month? Burberry Wet & Dry Silk ES in Rose Pink, Almond, and Porcelain.
Three products I couldn’t put down: Indeed Labs Hydraluron hyaluronic serum mixed with Timeless CoQ10 and 4 drops of Herbavore Emerald CBD Oil. My skin looks luminous despite the stress that usually flairs my rosacea.
Favorite Lip Product: UZ Clear Lip Treatment is ah-maxing for hydrating perpetually dehydrated lips. Lines look diminished after four months use. I keep one in my bag, one in the vanity and one in my nightstand drawer.
Favorite Eye Products: I ordered a collection of shades from Makeup Geek that I have really enjoyed playing with!
Coloring Medium Tan (Mac NC42/ Armani 7/ Pat Mcgrath #15) Black Hair Brown eyes
I have been using up many forgotten products. I am enjoying the
ABH Liquid Glow highlighter
MAC pro longwear concealer
MAC loose powder
Trish McEvoy bronzer duo
Laneige lip mask
and my random eye shadow singles from Bobbie Brown, Pat McGrath, Laura Mercier eye shadow stick
Velour Flawless lashes
and lots of different Perfumes.. mostly doing my own hair ( I discovered Bigen) my nails ( I bought Kiara Sky dip powder system online) and self care. 🙂
Skin tone / Medium neutral / eyes /hair / brown .
Now that Spring is here ,
I’ve switched over to a tinted SPF 50 “high protection “ compact from Avenue’
in lieu of foundation .
In Canada we have a makeup line from Australia called
“Nude by Nature” and I love their blush in “Desert Rose “ such a pretty copper rose blush and the eye brow pencil from the same line .
I Switch around my lipstick but lately I love Hauschka. #17 in “Geum” a warm apricot nude .
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
It’s been a weird makeup month for me. Half of it I was putting on a full face at 5 a.m., and since resigning the job, I’ve only worn makeup once or twice. I need to dye my hair, trim my side shave, and get my sh*t back together.
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? Easy for work stuff: ColourPop She’s in Rainbows Palette, UD x Basquiat Vice Lipstick in Abstract, and Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss in Plums Up. I got the Sexy Mother Pucker in a Target Beauty Box. It smells beyond awful, but it dissipates quickly, and the formula is nice. It tingles forever, but it only plumps lips a little bit. The hint of MLBB color and shimmer are really nice, though.
Favorite lip product this month? Revlon Super Lustrous Melting Glass Shine Lipsticks
Favorite eyeshadows this month? I’ve only swatched them but the ND Mini Retro Palette and the Charlotte Tilbury Super Blue Eyeshadow Quad, just because they’re so pretty. Also CP She’s in Rainbows Palette was amazing by itself and with other palettes. Winky Lux Coffee Kitten Palette, because I’ve been using Americano for my brows, and the medium mattes with colorful palettes that don’t have a usable crease shade.
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? L’Oreal’s True Match foundation in porcelain rose, Savvy eye brow pencil in soft taupe and I have really hit pan with my Covergirl Clean Glow blush in peach.
Favourite lip product this month? Probably my CP lipstick in Foolish – the shade just seems to work with most looks I create. Otherwise, CP’s Gallop.
Favourite eyeshadows this month? Seeing as I have been doing my palette a day for the past month (and I haven’t run out yet), I haven’t got a palette that I have used more than once. It has been interesting to use them all – even though I only tend to use 2-3 shades at one time.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/cool skin (foundation matches: Fenty Pro Filt’r 110, Urban Decay All Nighter 2.5, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear 2.0 Mont Blanc, Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist Light EF 02, L’Oreal True Match C3 Creamy Natural), gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde/blue strands. My everyday base products are Fenty-Amber Match Stick as cheek contour and Pro Filt’r concealer and Soft Matte foundation in 110.
Three products you couldn’t put down this month? YSL The Shock Rough Burgundy mascara, my 3 Marc Jacobs Enamored glosses-see below-and my new eyeshadow palettes-see below.
Favorite lip product this month? I’ve been most frequently using my 3 Marc Jacobs Enamored glosses-Not Sorry, Ch-Ch-Changes, and Love Buzz. I bought Rebel Rebel in one of my Sephora Spring Savings Event orders and I’m really excited to add it to the rotation!
Favorite eyeshadows this month? I’ve been using my new eyeshadow palettes-Sydney Grace Enduring Love Deep and Jeffree Star Blood Lust-a lot since receiving them.
Nothing, really. Changes in our lives, all the bad news about the pandemic, although I tried to keep my regular routine, left me with no interest about make up, even skin care.
