Favorite spring highlighter? I don’t really have a highlighter for each season. I really just wear Becca Moonstone mostly if and when I wear highlight. Maybe MAC Lightscspade
Favorite colored eyeliner? Brown is a color. So is grey. I wear either MAC Costa Riche or Flower Beauty in Silver Fox

That was me while in Corporate America.
Maybe Christine meant “more colourful” because, of course, brown IS a colour. My go to shades for liners are brown, bronze, sludgy olive or…brown (Sephora Cappuccino liner is the one I have to repurchase often). But I do have some bright and colourful liners and I figured that was what the question was asking.

Favorite green eyeshadow? MAC Sumptuous Olive/Inglot 419 (they’re almost identical); for a bright shade, UD Dragon (from Vice 3)
Favorite spring highlighter? UD Aura (why did they ever discontinue it?) or Dior’s Glowing Gardens Glowing Pink (LE)
Favorite colored eyeliner? currently, Urban Decay The Night King (from the Game of Thrones release; I have a few Sephora dupes so when it’s gone, I’ll be sad but still okay)
Can I just say that in these dull days, “Survey Says” is something that always puts a smile on my face – it really is a highlight of my week! And having all of you folks here to talk makeup with is something that makes each day a bit brighter!
Mariella, I feel the same way about Survey Says, plus Free for Haul and Week in Review. Although I barely wear any makeup these days, I still love to join in with my fellow Temptalians.

Rachel and Seraphine, I don’t know about you two but I don’t really have anyone in my “real life” to share my makeup obsession with. My sis in law is interested in skin care and makeup but to tell you the truth, I’d be a bit embarrassed if she saw just how much “stuff” I have. It’s beyond what most “normal” women (if they aren’t youtube people or makeup artists, etc.) would have. So to be with like-minded people here is so nice.
My old (50 year or more) friends either wear none or a very restricted, self-imposed visage: upper liner, masc, Aplum blush, end of story, on repeat. Although I do hide stash sometimes…. Sometimes I think their lack may be as extreme as my commitment. I tell everyone that I have only 3 topics: dogs, crime, and m/u. People may take me up on the first two, but talking m/u requires m/u wearing customers…..in other words, strangers.
I do tend to favour a neutral type look but even so, there’s such a huge range of what falls into the category for me. But even my friends who do wear makeup haven’t gone anywhere near as overboard as I have over the last 20 or so years!
Mariella, same here. My one makeup loving friend moved to the eastern part of the state. Really most of my friends are online, but definitely all the ones who love makeup are. I’m very glad to have Temptalia, the Phyrra Nyx Facebook group, and a few nice indie brand customer groups to connect with.
Same here, I don’t really have anyone I know that loves makeup as much as I do. It’s so nice to be able to share and chat with you all!
Mariela – thank you for reminding me of UD Dragon eyeshadow! Another favorite green of mine. I think Urban Decay should make that one permanent.
Nancy — Dragon and Junkie (which I’m never quite sure whether to categorize as green or teal). I can’t for the life of me figure out why those were never made permanent.
It is a lovely green, that’s for sure. And I don’t think there’s anything like it in the permanent collection.
I agree Mariella, especially in these dark days, having the Survey Says adds brightness to my day as well.
On a much sader note, I have read about the awful tragedy in Nova Scotia. It brings back memories of a similar event we experienced with Martin Bryant at Port Arthur in late April 1996. It would be so difficult and traumatic for the families of those who died in this senseless catastrophe. My thoughts and prayers are with your nation right now.

I don’t like highlighters in my routine… if any, I’ll just use a subtle illuminating powder like MAC Emphasize

Well… it’s not a punch of color, but it’s the most I would wear. 😆 I like how it’s still colorful but neutral, that pop of something extra that looks great and unique without being too bold and in your face.
They discontinued HUMID???? What a bone-headed move (I wonder if they’ll bring it back in a “clean formulation” as they’ve done with a few other once permanent shades that they discontinued). I’m glad I have an almost untouched pan, though!
A few months ago I wanted to purchase a replacement and it wasn’t on the website. But I just checked right now and it is available. So no worries, false alarm. 😀

Favorite green eyeshadow? Too many to choose just one! The green e/s in Chanel du Desert quad, several shades in Huda Emerald, MAC Jealousy Wakes, Savant and Lucky Green, plus CP Hammered.
Favorite spring highlighter? MAC Whisper Of Gilt or ABH x Amrezy.
Favorite colored eyeliner? UD 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils and Sephora Contour Pencils are my two favorite formulas. But for shade range it would be UD all the way!
Not the biggest fan of colors and blue make-up in general… but Sephora Contour Pencil in My Boyfriend’s Jeans definitely impressed. The quality of Sephora Contour Pencil and some of their brushes… amazed how good dupes they are for more expensive HGs.
You listed so many of many favorite greens. I still lament not springing for Chanel du Desert.
The Sephora Contour Pencils always dried up super-fast for me. I’ve never heard of anyone else having this problem. So weird.
Some S formulas more than others. They did a fab release, forget the name, with a Sea shade, a Fox shade, and a yellowy chartreuse, maybe with the word ‘monster’ in the name? Those were superb, but they $#@+ the bed in a nano. Beyond miffed, and they weren’t easily duped.
I had gotten Fox and the chartreuse shade. I thought I had stored them wrong or something, they went dry so fast. Dry all the way through…sharpening didn’t help. I had a couple other shades that weren’t as bad, but still dried out way more quickly than other brands I own. I keep things temperature controlled, and have pencils that are several years old and good as new.
Funny you should mention the drying up of the Contour pencils, Rachel, because when I was moving and sorting through my pencils I found that I had lost several of my Contour pencils to being dryed up!
I wish that you had been able to get your hands on Chanel Empriente du Desert, as well.
Sorry to hear that yours dried up so soon, too. Maybe someday Chanel will repromote EdD.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, salt & pepper hair
Favorite green eyeshadow? I tend to prefer olive and khaki green shades like MAC Sumptuous Olive, ColourPop Charmed, and Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Khaki.
Favorite spring highlighter? I don’t differentiate between seasons when it comes to highlighter. My top two favorites are Dior Nude Luminizer in Pink Glow and Laura Mercier Baked Highlighter 01.
Favorite colored eyeliner? Urban Decay Mushroom is my #1 go-to for my bottom lash line.

Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Favorite green eyeshadow? The greens from the ND Metropolis palette make my heart happy, and I also really like the greens from the LimeCrime Venus XL II.
Favorite spring highlighter? Highlighter isn’t seasonal for me, but I have found myself using more glowy blushes over highlighters lately.
Favorite colored eyeliner? I don’t really use colored eyeliner.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair/Light Skin w/pink undertones w/dark brown hair and grey eyes
Favorite green eyeshadow? I don’t have one b/c I don’t really like the greens in general.
Favorite spring highlighter? My fave spring highlighter has to be Laura Geller Baked Highlighter Duo in “French Vanilla and Portofino.” It is sooooo gorgeous. It looks like fresh/dewy skin when you put it on, not glittery highlighter. It’s the best highlighter ever, IMO!
Favorite colored eyeliner? Hmm, I guess it would be a toss up between Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in “Mainline” or “Empire.” They’re both such beautiful pops of color! Actually my ALL TIME favorite colored eyeliner is Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in “Uzi.” It’s a dark shimmery gunmetal color that makes my own eye color REALLY stand out. Love it!

Favorite green eyeshadow? My favorite m/u grandchildren. Anything SG. Danny’s Dream bundle has stopped me from getting many other green offerings. Outliers: V. Bijoux 11, CP Ebb, UD Dragon, and those lovely old gray greens in a Dior quint: Airy Green.
Favorite spring highlighter? Probably anything from ABH Aurora, if HL ever makes a reappearance in my life.
Favorite colored eyeliner? I live for colored liner. The Hallbergs are grand. Can’t wait to foray into Glossier. The 2 Fentys (lt gray and olive) have seen so much use, ordered others in the S sale. I even like bright ones, like the CP neon set. Anything UD 24/7, best overall formula for me. Cannot believe they d/c’d Mainline, which I used to self-pretend referred to Philadelphia, not heroin…

Favorite green eyeshadow? This is so much more difficult than even a year ago! So many good greens have come out. Some favorites: PML VR Emerald; UD Dragon, Freak, and Thrash; KVD Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Iggy; NARS Matcha; CP Deja Boo; MAC Sumptuous Olive and Jealousy Wakes; CP Get Lucky Palette; any by Sydney Grace; and any by Igneous Cosmetics (etsy).
Favorite spring highlighter? I don’t use HLs by season, but this spring I’ve found a new love for the ABH Glow Kit in Aurora and have been using it a lot.
Favorite colored eyeliner? UD 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils in Mars, Junkie, Psychedelic Sister, Woodstock, Chaos, and Deep End; and MAC Fluidline in Blue Peep. I also love to use NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Giove as a liner.

Favorite green eyeshadow? Nyx Prismatic Shadow in Jaded.
Favorite spring highlighter? I don’t usually wear highlighter.
Favorite colored eyeliner? Depending on the shadows I am wearing, it would be Nyx Retractable Eye Liner in the teal shade or UD 24/7 Glide On pencil in Psychedelic Sister, a bright purple.

Two shadows with the same name but different shades and formula’s. The Shiseido is a powder and the Ellis Faas is a cream in a click up pen.
Favorite spring highlighter? I don’t really differentiate between seasons when it comes to highlighters so I would go with Becca Pearl.
Favorite colored eyeliner? Not sure if this is brand or specific shade. I will go with UD 24/7 and Marc Jacobs Highline for brands and pretty much close your eyes and stab at either brand and I will love the shade. In particular I like Viper and Overdrive in the UD pencils.
I had never heard of Ellis Faas cream eyeshadows in green gold before (a heresy) and I looked it up. My word, what a stunning gold green shade it is! No wonder you love it Deborah.
The same formula also includes my favorite silver e/s. It is E301 Antique Silver and I really like the Bordeaux shade also. They are getting harder and harder to find since the brand is not widely carried anymore.
Lt-med warm.
Love warm greens, esp. khaki and olive. But top favorite is a 20 yr old Prescriptives shadow that’s neutral-slightly warm light greyed green. It’s nothing in the pan, but amazing for what it does to blue-green eyes.
Favorite colored liner at the moment: any neutral(ish) metallics from Wunder2 (Super-Stay liners – great and apparently in witness protection program). Trading off between bronze, copper, rose-gold, green-gold & yellow-gold.
Highlighters aren’t seasonal for me.
I LOVE those Wunder2s from Ulta. I got two on a Twofer, but think all the rest would be duped in stash. More shades, please. And while we’re on liners, Reformulate the Dose formula! Really different shades that break by looking at them.

Favorite green eyeshadow? This is SUCH a hard question. Probably General from Sydney Grace or Leo from the Gemini Palette. I also love Vivid from Hourglass.
Favorite spring highlighter? I’m not huge on highlighter, so it’ll probably be Stila Kitten.
Favorite colored eyeliner? Cuff from UD – I have a lot of memories tied to it, and I love a silver.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair with neutral undertone N10
Favorite green eyeshadow? Haven’t found one yet. Olive/khaki tones make me look so drab. I need to experiment with lighter minty colors at some point. Which greens look best for dark brown eyes?
Favorite spring highlighter? Bare Minerals Barepro Glow liquid highlighter in Whimsy. It’s a subtle pale pink that reminds me of Benefit’s High Beam, but easier to apply and more blendable. It just lights my face up without being super obvious.
Favorite colored eyeliner? None. I’ve been using eyeshadow as eyeliner for a few months now, after years of liquid liner wings. I’m totally into giving my eyes a softer, ‘ethereal’ blended look these days (I’m having a tough time describing it lol) BTW it reads really nicely on Zoom videoconferences.
Some of the greens from Sydney Grace would suit you, Recruit, Cadet would be a couple that I can think of, offhand. A softer green (not a dark shade) and I can understand how olive shades would translate to muddy on you.
I think emerald greens look amazing with brown eyes.

My everyday base products are Fenty-Amber Match Stick as cheek contour and Pro Filt’r concealer and Soft Matte foundation in 110.
Favorite green eyeshadow? UD Freak (from Electric) or Too Faced Pixie Dust (from the Then & Now 20th Anniversary palette).
Favorite spring highlighter? I choose highlighters based on the rest of my look, not on the seasons.

Favorite colored eyeliner? Don’t use it much (usually use darker eye shadows as eyeliners); however, if I do, I like Bobbi Brown’s Intense Pigment Liner in “Black Plum” (I think it’s discontinued) and that’s about it.
