Summer Fun Look: Green, Coral, & Purple
Summer Fun Look: Green, Coral, & Purple
How’s your Sunday treating you? I did this look late last night, as I was determined to be somewhat productive. (Although, I did get my cheat sheet ready for my final on Monday!) Just a fun, summery look that came out better than I thought it would! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend 🙂
P.S. — For a more affordable lip look, try MAC Ravishing and Lychee Luxe.
You will need the following…
- Eyes: NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base (neutral eyeshadow base), MAC Sweet & Punchy Eyeshadow (yellowed chartreuse), MAC Firecracker Eyeshadow (coral-red), Urban Decay Psychedelic Sister Eyeshadow (red-toned purple), MAC Grain Eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), MAC Float On By Eye Kohl (teal-blue), MAC Plushlash Mascara (black)
- Face: Make Up For Ever HD Foundation (140), Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder (translucent)
- Cheeks: Le Metier de Beaute Traviata Duet (peachy-coral)
- Lips: Cle de Peau #101 Extra Silky Lipstick (coral), YSL #3 Pur Gloss (sheer coral-orange)
- Brushes: 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Sweet & Punchy = Sour Lemon; Firecracker = Paradisco or Red Brick; Float on By = UD Deviant + Flipside
For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Sweet & Punchy eyeshadow on the inner two-thirds of the lid and pull upwards along the inner crease. Apply Firecracker eyeshadow on the outer third of the lid with the 239. Next, apply Psychedelic Sister eyeshadow into the crease with the 226, lightly blending onto the outer lid. Blend Grain eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Float On By eye kohl on the lower lash line, then lightly pat Sweet & Punchy eyeshadow to soften. Finish by sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.
For cheeks, apply Traviata blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply #101 lipstick first, and then layer #3 lipgloss for a complementing lip.
Gorgeous! =)
Thanks so much, Sylvia!
As always, Gorgeous and very nicely blended. The 3 colors are just beautiful!
Thank you, Vonvon!
Quite pretty. I just might give this look a try.
Thanks, Valene! I hope you do 🙂
I love that! THat’s really pretty on you! i need to go look up dupes for Firecracker now, since i kinda don’t have money to buy it.
Thank you so much 🙂
Paradisco, Red Brick, etc. – something coral-red. Or Hot Hot Hot is close – from Spring Colour Forecast.
Wow that purple crease is GREAT! Do you think MAC’s Nocturnelle would work as a substitute?
Also, this is weird I know, but your eyelid shape is very pretty. I mean, in the last picture with the eye closed I was *sure* you had thin black liner on the upper lashline, but clearly you don’t. Just something about your eyes.
Thanks, Daphne 🙂 I thank my parents for giving me the best of their eyes, LOL! I also thank my grandmother for the crazy eye color (both my parents have brown eyes), but she has the same weird flecks.
Yeah, your eyes have an Asian shape but without the monolids. Most of my half Asian friends have similar eyes – it’s a very pretty 🙂
You know that expression “fire in your eyes”? Well, it seriously looks like there are flames on the outer edges of your irises! So cool!
Aww, thanks, Oana!
Thanks! 🙂 Nocturnelle would be OK – probably not quite as purple – maybe like a mix of Parfait Amour & Nocturnelle?
I think that could work…I do have both! Trying to figure out when I should try a similar look. Maybe I’ll use a bluer liner and make this my rainbow eye for Pride!
That’s a gorgeous look, Christine! I love how you are creative with your looks. A true artist.
Thanks a lot, Ashley 🙂
I really like this lip combo!
Thanks, Amy!
This is such a gorgeous use of color – I think this is one of my favorites!
Thanks so much, Violet 😀
what can replace Physcedellic Sister out of MAC’s permanent shades?
Maybe a mix of Parfait Amour & Nocturnelle.
Thanks! I don’t have Nocturnelle maybe Very Violet and Parfait Amour would work.
I think that could definitely work! Parfait Amour is too blue-based on its own, so anything that’s more of a red-based purple would work!
very pretty!
Thanks, Dahlia!
Totally screams summer fun! I like it!
Thanks, LNU!
this look is so fun! but do u actually wear this out during the day? or is it just for fun/playing around with new looks? just curious!
If I had done it in the AM, I would have totally worn it! I was actually a little sad, because it would have been a great look for the farmer’s market!
I would definitely wear it out for the day! It’s so pretty! Now just need to find the time to re-create it. 🙂
I hope you do 😀
Wow! I love this look, Christine. The colors really complement each other 🙂 And that blush looks amazing on you!
Thanks, Sarah!
This look is wonderful on you Christine! Keep up the good work!
Thank you, AmyR!
I love it! You should do it in video tutorial form. I love your videos.
Thanks, Ashley Marie!
Such a fun, original look!
Thanks a lot, Allison!

Thanks, Neli!
very adventurous! love it!
Thank you, Sarah!
Love love love this colorful look! The purple looks great and isn’t an obvious choice, not sure I would have thought to use it with the other colors.
Thanks a lot, Jen!
i really love your colourful looks 🙂
Thank you, Josi!
LOVE!
Thanks, Meg!
gorgeous! i wish you packed more orange onto the lid, though!
Thanks, Julian!
This look makes me want to squee with joy…love it. I am totally trying this look this week.
Thanks a lot, Jamie!
Christine,
How similar are MAC’s Fresh Green Mix (mineralize eyeshadow) and To the Beach’s Sweet and Punchy?
Yellower!
Oh pretty pretty! I feel like you sort of combined the colors most people said they would pair with firecracker (green & purple) and I love how all 3 look together!! Nice job Christine!
Thanks a lot, Oana 😉
You look radiant. Sweet and punchy looks great with float on by.
Thank you, Rosie 😀
You make me wanna go out and try the get the products you used on your lips even though I think coral looks horrible on me!
lol! Aww!
i know you mention Nocturnelle and Parfait Amour….but what do you think about Trax, or the purple that came in the Lucky Tom Quad from Hello Kitty??
I think the purple from the Lucky Tom quad might work 🙂
love the lips! cant say the same for the eyes!
Sorry you didn’t like the eyes, Arianna!
I love this look! it’s vibrant, young, and fun, but not flashy. 🙂
Thanks a lot, Marie!
Eyes are too colorful for gloomy me :p
but I adore that shade of blush with those lips on you. You look great!
Thanks, Riki!
