Some of you have been readers of Temptalia since its early, not-so-industrious beginnings, while others have only stopped by yesterday. I would really love to get to know those who have supported Temptalia and continue to support this endeavor! I can’t say enough, but thank you for reading, commenting, and supporting both me, as I grow and learn and discover myself, as well as the blog as a beauty resource.
What name do you go by?
Christine. I’ve never been one for any of the nicknames that come from Christine (Chrissy, Christy, Chris, etc.), so I’ve always stuck with Christine. You can call me Temptalia, too, since it’s been my internet monniker for the past six years or so.
Who are the most important people in your life?
My family and my boyfriend are the people who are vital to me enjoying and loving life. Everyone has supported me for my educational and business endeavors so much, and the support system is just incredible.
What are some ways you enjoy spending your free time?
Free time, what’s that? Just kidding 😉 These days, I like spending my down time with Mellan or watching trash reality TV. I’m lovin’ Tool Academy on VH1 for its utter hilarity, at the moment. With I Love Money 2 just beginning, I’ll probably watch that. I’m terrible about watching when they’re on, though, so I often miss episodes. Stupid TiVo not working with Dish Network 🙁

I used to “run” online magazines back when AOL was a huge internet provider; I believe I did it from age 13 to 17. At some point, I think I had over ten different ones running (oddly enough, one was a “girly” ‘zine with some beauty in it!). I don’t love the taste of coffee, but I love Starbucks! And final fact: I’m pretty good at Guitar Hero 😉
Where do you want to be in five years?
I’d love to have been able to really grow Temptalia into a successful business doing more than just blogging. I really hope I’ve finished up school by then–should be done in 2011–and done for good! It would be fantastic to have my very own beauty/makeup room with insanely cute and practical storage systems for all my products 🙂

How tall are you? I always wanted to be 5’8″, but I’m stuck between 5’6″ and 5’7″.

2. Who are the most important people in your life? My family, my bf and my cats. Yeah, they’re people too.
3. What are some ways you enjoy spending your free time? Cleaning. Sad but true. I’m not able to relax unless I know I shouldn’t be doing something productive, so I spend most of my “down time” scrubbing the grout, taking out trash, folding clothes, etc. And then I research cleaning products online too.
4. Reveal three quirky facts about yourself! My right leg is about half an inch longer than my left, I’m capable of rolling my eyes so far back in my head that all you see is white (it’s gross, I know) and I’m a total Buffy nerd.
5. Where do you want to be in five years? Oh man, in five years I’ll be 31, god. Um, married. And working at a job I love rather than a job that pays the bills. I want to have time to read and relax and maybe start thinking about having kids.
6. What book, song, and movie could you read, listen, and watch over and over again? the Great Gatsby OR My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler, I’ll Catch you by the Get Up Kids and Almost Famous. I’m guessing I’ve seen Almost Famous close to 200 times by now.
7. What do you feel makes you beautiful? I’m in college and I’m dirt poor, and I’m still really generous. I love making other people feel special or beautiful or cared for. I had what I guess most people would call an epiphany when I was in high school that if I could make ONE person’s day a little better every day that maybe one day it would add up to a lot. So I try to do that. I make sure to tell people thank you and mean it. In this age of emails and Twitter and texting I send my friends who live far away handwritten letters and postcards. No matter what happens I still try to find the good in people, sometimes to awesome results. I believe that love can conquer all if you really want it to.

LOL, me and my buffy thing go way back — I just started rewatching for the first time in like 4 years, it’s clearly on my mind!
Cleaning products for tubs — well. I work at a rather well known coffee chain (one that you’re kind of fond of…) and the cleaner we use for drains/sinks is called Spirit and I may have procured some that I use at home… it’s seriously AMAZING. It’s like a concentrated bleach paste (similar to scrubbing bubbles paste), I just squirt it all over, leave it for like 10 or 15 minutes and then scrub it with a scotch brite pad. I’m pretty convinced it could clean up an oil spill! For other stuff I’m seriously addicted to the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and nothing will ever clean a window like ammonia/vinegar solution and newspaper.

Not as close as I’d like to be. She lives in Florida, I live in Pennsylvania, but I talk to her a lot. She moved down there to live with my uncle after my grandpap died. I actually don’t know what types all of them are, I have a few tiger striped ones though. All their names are Bunnas, Tigger, Piglet, Beghera, Angel, Dusty, Autumn and Tinkerbell. Child’s Play is the one with the killer doll, Chucky. He is the only thing that has ever really scared me, so I love him. He is what inspired my screen name. And yep, he is a keeper…we have been together for 6 years so far. =)

I was probably about 6 when I saw Child’s Play, and I asked my mom if I could have a Chucky Doll…or maybe it was #2? I’m not sure but there was a scene where there’s like a bunch of the dolls in a store and that triggered the idea that maybe I could get one. My mom said no, later told me she would have been terrified of the thing. Good times…lol.

That is definitely quirky and a little OCD about partner products, lol. I haven’t heard that one before 🙂 Why can’t you drink alcohol? I can drink it, but it makes me really sick (and no buzz), so I’m curious!
I’m asian and like a lot of other asian’s I can’t tolerate alcohol. It makes me feel sick immediately – just half a glass of wine will make me bright red in the face and want to throw up. I never even get the happy buzz so there’s really nothing in it for me :o(
It’s such a shame because I love the whole culture behind alcohol: cocktails, wine, whiskey… but I just channel it into make-up instead.

The best thing to own when you start cooking is a slow cooker especially if you are busy. You can make the main dish or even an entire dinner in those things. You can’t mess up either.

Lazy … lol … for fitness, usually do everything really early in the morning before my day starts … i either go to the gym three times a week (often fewer) for an hour, or jog on the school grounds for about 30mins.
No fizzy/carbonated drinks, plenty of water, fruits … that’s pretty much all of it … i started with little steps though!

Working for MAC is definitely not what I expected at all… I really like my job, but some of the others on my counter are somewhat negative about customers in general and are a little bit over their jobs. It just boggles my mind that they would take advantage of an opportunity that many people would give their right arm for. Hopefully they will find their place in another profession and leave only the passionate crazies like me behind 😉

I’ve never met anyone who has changed their name like that, so I’m totally curious.
I basically keep my original first name and just “get” an English name when I need it – summer jobs, interviews, resumes, making new friends, etc. So there’d be people writing on my FB wall going ‘Eva!’ or ‘Evelyn’ or ‘Eujee!’ all at the same time. I’m guessing people’ll be adding ‘Leona!’ to that range :P.. My Korean name means soft, calm grassfield so I try to go out there and find more ‘fierce’ name! haha

2) I am in the US Air Force. I’ve been in for just over 3 years now. I love my job. I’ve only been stationed in Texas, and now, Mississippi. But during training I did 6 weeks in Washington D.C. and LOVED IT!
3) I love food but I’m not much of a cook. I have been getting *alot* better though. I probably eat like 5 or so meals on a normal day, though you wouldn’t guess. I’m 5’4” and weigh 103lbs (hence the nickname!)

I obsessively color code everything – from my class notebooks to my google calendar (like seriously, I have 20 calendars for the colors). I love sending and receiving cards but my rate of return for Christmas cards is usually ~10%.
5. Where do you want to be in five years? Finishing up grad school, looking for a postdoc, doing awesome interesting things… and actually getting up when the alarm goes off in the morning. 5 lbs heavier wouldn’t be too bad either.
6. What book, song, and movie could you read, listen, and watch over and over again? Oh man, Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. AWESOME. And, George Winston’s December album and FINDING NEMO! <3 that.

What’s your favorite beach? My favorite beaches are in Hawaii, but I also loved Laguna Beach (SoCal) and Carmel (NorCal).
Finding Nemo is SUCH an awesome movie, isn’t it?!
Black’s Beach, which is right underneath UCSD campus (~20 minute hike down the cliff face) has a GORGEOUS view, when you’re on the path down. I really like that one. I also love Solana Beach right across from the train station and Del Mar. Good picnic places. La Jolla Cove has been sadly very, very windy every time we’ve gone, but the seals are awesome. =)
I really want to go to Hawaii sometime! The pictures are always so gorgeous.

I’m really tired of the fast pace here and traffic and too many people, crime, noise and insane prices. I will say though that The Outsiders is probably one of my favs. Same with music, I do in fact listen to songs over and over on my iPhone when I work out. I watch tons of movies, but one that I always HAVE to watch whenever it’s on for some reason is Big Trouble in Little China with Kurt Russell, hahaha!

Well, like most people, free time is a hard commodity to come by! – I collect things to do with moose. I find them strangely adorable, though very awkward-looking. Also, because of where I live, I have the chance of seeing real live ones wandering around! Hopefully working from home on what would hopefully be my third published novel (… considering I’ve yet to start editing anything and looking for… I don’t know, an agent, this is kinda a pipe dream at the moment. Alannah is not my legal name, but that’s what everyone except my family & coworkers call me (and I’m working on changing it to be my legal name)!
2. Who are the most important people in your life?
My husband, my bff Erin and my therapist (I’m only half kidding on that last one)!
3. What are some ways you enjoy spending your free time?
Watching way too much tv (Gossip Girl, Lost & The Office are the best), playing video games, obsessing over things on the internet (like MAC & Blythe dolls).

~I can’t stand maple syrup, cilantro or mayonnaise
~I don’t cook much but have a kind of OCD thing going when it comes to the kitchen… I don’t like anyone else to be in there
~I flew to two different states to see the Spice Girls on their reunion tour
5. Where do you want to be in five years?
Ideally, living somewhere out of the US, with a job I actually enjoy and enough money to live comfortably & travel (with my husband!).

3. What are some ways you enjoy spending your free time? I’m a stay at home mom so i always have free time. but i usually just play with make up, take allie for walks, try new things with my hair, go to the mall.
4. Reveal three quirky facts about yourself! I want to go to beauty school and be a cosmetologist. I love video games, mario kart on the wii is my new favorite cause i kick ass. I was born in Colombia, but i moved to denver when i was 11, and ill be 21 on the 25th 🙂

3. What are some ways you enjoy spending your free time? SHOPPING. Reading True Crime books. And I love a good nap. 9 times out of 10 if I have unexpected free time, I will sleep.
4. Reveal three quirky facts about yourself! I have never tried so many common foods, like mashed potatoes, burgers, any cooked vegetable, etc, real picky eater. I’m 22 and don’t have a driver’s license. I am never ever EVER barefoot, I hate the feeling of my feet touching things. Socks, always.
5. Where do you want to be in five years? 2 years away from my Phd in Clinical Psychology and my marriage with Andrew.

1. What name do you go by?
Molly, Molly Loretta, or Molly Murder. Molly Murder (or “Murder”, as some people choose to call me) was a name given to me while touring and working with bands. They liked the way it sounded since my original nickname was “killer” for having such a touch exterior. Molly IS my real name and Loretta is my middle, named after my Grandmother I never met but feel I would have been very close with as we share so much.
2. Who are the most important people in your life?
My fiance, my friends, and of course my wonderful boston terrier and two cats. I don’t know what I’d do without them and their unconditional love and support.
3. What are some ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I LOVE going to concerts, it’s my original home away from home. Otherwise, driving around listening to music, traveling, vacationing (does that go with traveling?), and watching movies. Wisconsin Dells is a place I go at least once a year to get some time away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

I’m random, eccentric, and slightly allergic to the sun!

I’d love to own my own hair salon within the next five years, or work for Pravana, or Joico, or a cosmetics company (Nixie or MAC, I’ll take either!).

Oh my gosh. Uhhh. I LOVE biographies. Janice Dickinson biographies are amazing. Otherwise, this is so lame, “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.” You know, that series of short, creepy stories. Almost any song I own I could listen to over and over again. Movie-wise? I’m not really sure. I’m pretty picky. I love older horror movies. I’m entirely obsessed with “Repo! The Genetic Opera” right now as well. (PS — I LOVE ALICE IN CHAINS. “Nutshell” is one of my all-time favorite songs!)
7. What do you feel makes you beautiful?
My never-ending compassion for others, the fact that I don’t care about the mediocre things in life. I loathe drama, and typically ignore those that attempt to start it with me. I’m not sure if it’s a negative or positive that it’s so easy for me to write people off in my life!
In addition to number three, I’m a reality TV junkie. Bad Girls Club, Make Me a Super Model, Shear Genius, Split Ends, America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway…. I love pretty much any and all. I can’t tear myself away!
