Spooky Season: 14 Eyeshadow Combos to Try

Halloween is right around the corner, and for those who celebrate, it might be different this year, but maybe you could try an unexpected color combo instead 🙂 Here are a few ideas! What are your plans?

About This Series

Each look idea is centered around a “quad” of four shades with the expectation that one might bring in the appropriate brow bone or additional transitional shade based on skin tone. I know that I tend to use more like five or six shades in a typical look, but I think that four is a happy medium to give a good idea of the “core” color scheme of a look while giving you the ability to lighten/darken as desired. I have listed the colors in this order: inner lid, middle of lid, outer lid/crease, and crease/above crease.

You might see combinations that seem slightly repeated but placement will vary (e.g. a halo placement where the lightest and more shimmery shade is placed on the center) as placement can also create a different effect/look! You might also want to consider incorporating your favorite matte/shimmer shades (as applicable) to increase the versatility of certain palettes. Consider these ideas a jumping off point!

Work wasn’t on so many levels, but having voted and Goodwilled, I’m home with pups, snugging on a dreary chilled day. So, as my shirt says, Life Is Good.

Even though I do not celebrate or subscribe to Halloween, I’m finding a metric TON of inspiration for some fun, interesting looks above! Rise Of The Undead has a gorgeous color combo for an icy wintry look. Several ND Metropolis looks have convinced me that THIS is the one to get once I get another $100 Rouge GC! It was always going to be Biba until I saw the above.

Same here! I’ve been lusting after ND Metropolis since Christine reviewed it last year. Seeing how versatile it is, perhaps this will be the year to bite the bullet? I will admit to being curious about Alter Ego’s dupe of Metropolis, too…

I love the color pairings, especially Chill in the Air, Ahh! Zombies and Sleepy Hollow. My favorite combination has to be Ahh! Zombies. How are lethal cosmetics eyeshadows? I’ve never tried their formula but I’ve got my eye on that Calcination shade…
