Sponsored: Shiseido Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Liquid Foundation Photos & Swatches
Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Fluid Foundation ($45.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is the newest liquid foundation from Shiseido. It’s a follow-up to Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation from last year. Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Fluid Foundation is–you guessed it–a dewier formula that’s supposed to give a “dewy glow without any shine” with “buildable coverage” and a “serum-like texture.” It also featured broad spectrum SPF 20 and is supposed to have “8-hour hydration.”
You can find your shade in the Foundation Matrix or see below for swatches of the shade range:
The lighter shades look pretty dark to me? Is there more in the shade range from this line or is this it?
Neutral 1 is going to be the lightest in the range!
Yeah, it’s going to be way to dark for the likes of us. 🙁
*too dark
I’m definitely in between shades here. A mix of Neutral 3 and Golden 4? I think? Hopefully, there’s other shades, because this range seems to exclude MANY other lighter, deeper and even some more complex medium tones, too.
This is the full range of shades presently!
Yep, I’m medium, prob closest to Golden 3 and it doesn’t look olive-yellow enough for me. But that’s a problem I have with most foundation ranges, haha.
Thanks for including a darker shade. Saves me from having to order 3 and returning two.
I hope that shade works for you!
I’ll pass, it has parabens in it.
Oh, darn! I hope you can find a formula that works for you!
I love when companies send you foundations to show off the full range – I wish they would do it more often!
You and me both! 🙂
Excellent point!
The texture and finish of these looks lovely! I hope they give good coverage though, I have pigmentation and scarring to cover, so I have resigned myself to matte finishes but these look very, very nice.
More light-medium, buildable coverage – to medium or so but definitely not a full coverage foundation!
Is this the extent of their range? It’s very exclusive for people of color. So disappointed if this is all they carry, or even if they only carry one or two deeper–it’s unfortunate that the beauty community still doesn’t recognize the variety among nonwhite skin tones.
Yes, these are all the shades they have right now! I hope they expand their shade ranges going forward.
Luminizing, hydrating, and SPF20 ?? Oh wow, this could be awesome for my winter skin! I’m kind of worried as the shade range looks limited, but I’m hoping one of the shades could work for me, or if it’s a good formula, they expand the range.
I had the same thought – I wondered whether it would be a practical foundation for winter (though the dewy finish always makes me think of spring – probably the general push by the industry that skin is in whenever it’s spring!).
I’ve been very tempted to try these, though with the warm weather coming, I’m thinking I might want to wait til AFTER summer’s heat and humidity (which will probably start next week!). The lighter shades really do look dark-ish and “off”, though. I took a quick look at them at Shoppers Drug Mart last week but hadn’t the time to be colour matched. I’m torn, with summer coming, as to whether to get this or the more matte, long-wear version (I think that came out first) but want to get these (and Eudermine) at Shoppers since I can get 20% off every Thursday and use my Optimum points to pay most of the balance! Sort of makes Sephora’s 15% seem kinda like no big deal.
I am actually wondering if it would be a good fall/winter foundation based on that it’s supposed to be hydrating as well!
15% is definitely not super exciting – better than nothing but I don’t think it’s enough incentive to just buy willy nilly!
Christine, I was wondering if you had a chance to check the ingredients as it seems that this foundation contains both alcohol and fragrance and while they are not at the top of the ingredient list, the combination of these two can be problematic for the skin (potential dryness and sensitivity).
I wanted to buy this foundation a couple of months ago but a review on YT mentioning the existence of these ingredients stopped me.
The ingredient list is posted above if there are certain ingredients that you need to avoid! 🙂 I’m not sure whether you’re asking for the ingredient list or whether I have an issue with the formula personally? There aren’t any ingredients that I personally avoid but I don’t have sensitive skin and very rarely react to ingredients (more often eye/lip for me). I don’t personally avoid alcohol – sort of a given as one of my must-use skincare products contains 50% alcohol (topical antibiotic). I wouldn’t add fragrance if it was up to me, but it doesn’t cause any skin reactions or problems for me (other than whether I like or dislike the scent, which is totally subjective).
I just resized and removed and added a larger photo of the inactive ingredient list, but I’m trying to figure out why it’s not updating in this post, but you can find it here: http://www.temptalia.com/product/shiseido-synchro-skin-glow-luminizing-liquid-foundation-spf-20/
Thank you so much Christine for posting the inactive and active ingredient lists ! And yes, I wanted to know if you have and can post the ingredient list 🙂 I personally try to avoid the alcohol and fragrance in foundations/primers/BB or CC creams. More of a preventive measure, as my skin can become reactive. I wanted to try this foundation but I hesitated when I heard someone on YT mentioning the above mentioned two ingredients and when I read the review on Beautypedia. But I didn’t find the ingredient list on the Shiseido and Hudson’s Bay websites to be able to check out. Thank you so much !
Thanks for pointing that out. I do try to avoid alcohol. It’s so hard to find a high end foundation with spf and no alcohol. Dior star is the only one I know, and I’m between shades so I have to buy two.
This formula looks soooo nice for summer, but that shade range ?
I’ll probably have to mix Neutral 1 and Golden 2 to find a match. The neutrals look like they lean on the warmer side, so that’s promising.
Here’s hoping they will expand their range! Mixing two isn’t so fun.
I have been using this new foundation for about a month now. I was searching for a very light color match as I am too light for Armani Silk and Dior Star. I found it in this product in Neutral 1. I must admit it has taken me a bit of work to learn how to best apply this formula. I prep with my usual toner and serum then apply BENEFIANCE WrinkleResist24 Day Emulsion Broad Spectrum SPF 18. On top of that I apply Smashbox primer. What turned this from a greasy mess to a perfect fit for me was vigorous shaking prior to applying (duh, should have read the directions first). I apply with my fingers and finish off with a beauty blender. FYI: The Shiseido foundation brush did not work for me. Now, I have a perfect foundation color and finish. Not too dry, not oily at all and a perfect color match for me.
Ah, yes, shaking is definitely key!! I’m glad you were able to figure out a good way to use it, even if it took a bit of trial and error!
Which shade are you using?
Yeah, this looks like its exclusively for east Asian skin tones. Can’t say I feel bad for myself since practically every other brand has shades for cool toned Caucasians.
Thank you Christine for such great swatches. Which shade are you Christine?
I’m closest to Neutral 2!
Would you be 2 Neutral? I tried the 2 Neutral that came as a sephora sample and am not sure if I need that or 3 Neutral
I’m closest to Neutral 2!
I like the fact that Shiseido has neutral, rose and golden undertones in various shades. I have used their foundation before and it’s pretty good, although extremely expensive here in Aus.
I just wish that the Rose shade was in a Rose 1, as I think Rose 2 would be too dark for me.
PRAISE THE HEAVENS FOR THIS! I absolutely love the long-lasting formula when first applied because the texture is super light but the coverage is phenom. But throughout the day I can see it totally drying up on me. I think this formula would be a perfect fix for my problem. YAY!
I recently made my first purchase of this foundation and 3 times this month I have received a compliment on my complexion and the quality of my skin condition. I am 53 years old and believe me, hearing that made me feel so good. I love the product and it lasts all day long, unlike other foundations I have tried. I am a true believer in this foundation now and happy I made the purchase.
