NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($30.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is an award-winning (it’s even taken home several Temptalia Readers’ Choice Awards over the years!), liquid concealer available in 22 shades from an ultra light, neutral-to-yellow toned shade (Chantilly) to a deep dark, neutral-to-cool-toned shade (Dark Coffee).  They just added six new shades, and you’ll find updated swatches below with where they fall within the range.  The formula is described as “lightweight” with “medium to high buildable coverage” that’s “hydrating” and “long-wearing and crease-proof.”

How-to Use NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

FIND YOUR MATCH

We’ve partnered with NARS to showcase Radiant Creamy Concealer, as it’s one of the most searched for concealers in our Foundation Matrix, and it holds an impressive 4.5/5 stars as rated by Temptalia readers. Readers often described the formula as blendable, buildable, natural, and long-wearing. We now have photos and swatches of all 22 shades!

For anyone who prefers peachy undertones for concealing underneath the eyes, your best bets (from light to dark) will be: Creme Brulee, Honey, Biscuit, Chestnut, and Hazelnut. The rest of the shades run either pink or yellow with some of the yellow shades being slightly less or more yellow-based. I typically use Cannelle or Custard underneath my eyes and Cannelle or Macadamia for any spot concealing.  I tend to opt for this formula when I am using a more luminous or dewy foundation or if my under eye area is drier (which is where I do most of my concealing).

The concealer can also be used for highlighting or contouring!  NARS recommends going two shades lighter than your skin tone for highlighting and two shades darker than your skin tone to contour.

This is the best kind of sponsored post. I really appreciate the super clear disclosure and that you never do sponsored reviews (which never read as fully candid). And the swatches are really helpful and add value, unlike most sponsored content.

Brands, please do more sponsored posts so that Temptalia can have swatches of every foundation in existence 😄

I’m in the minority that hated this concealer, I tried every possible way (different methods of application, powder, primer, etc) to make it work for me, but it either made my undereyes look drier than the Sahara or creased like crazy.
Still managed to use mine up though – it worked well as an eyeshadow base!

Good to see these swatches just for comparison purposes though!

Glad you were able to use it as an eyeshadow base! It’s so interesting that it worked as a base on the lid but could crease like crazy under the eyes! Did you ever try it or like it for concealing anywhere else on the face?

It didn’t crease when set with powder, but got this strange dry awful looking texture. Almost like it was separating? Fine under eyeshadow on my eyelids though!

The shade was too peachy to use anywhere else, but it probably would have been fine as long as I didn’t use too much. It’s strange, my eyebags are so difficult to work with, but on the rest of my skin I seem to be able to make formula work!

You’re not alone, A. I tried and returned Custard (the “jaundice” look it gave me isn’t really what I was going for) and switched it for Vanilla. Great colour match but like you, it made my under eye area look like one of those dry, cracked river-beds in the desert.

Raised hand.. yep.. horrible concealer for under my eyes too. I can pull off shapetape which is similar format, but NARS Soft Matte concealer, the one in the pot, is my go to. It’s less drying.. sets perfectly with Goss airbrush and a bit of powder.. and for my mature eyes about as perfect as it gets.
Thanks Christine for the shade lineup here as I’ve been wanting something a little lighter and pinker than Canelle.. will probably pick up creme brule in the soft matte formula.

Hi Lucia: not sure 🤔. My issues are discolouration and deep eye wells. I do not actually have many lines under my eyes despite my age. I have a few lines in the corners though and do not find creasing to be a problem there and I do buff my concealer all the way up that outer corner to brow tip. But everyone and their skin texture is so different. I would try it out first before taking the plunge if you possibly can. It may be too emollient on your younger skin. My undereye area is fairly dry. Tip: try the undereye primer by NYX. It’s really good and may help creasing without buying new concealer and it’s cheap! 👍

Thx Wwendy, I will try the NYX primer too. I have very faint lines under my eyes and constantly battle with foundation and concealer settling in them. I am using Oil of Olay line filler right now as a primer and it usually works but my skin around my eyes is very oily and even though I use powder sometimes I’m still getting some creasing ughh! But on the plus side that is probably why I don’t have very many wrinkles yet!

I loooove the formula of this concealer, but there just isn’t a shade that works for me 🙁 Chantilly is way too light, vanilla too pink, cannelle & custard too dark. Hopefully they’ll do another round of new shades someday, haha.

I LOVE Chantilly. It’s a little tiny bit easier to find concealers that are light enough than it is to find foundations that are light enough, but most concealers are still too peachy and dark.

If you’re the kind of person who reads reviews like “I can’t believe this is so pale! It’s crazy! I’m always the lightest foundation shade and this was too light on me!” and says “AH HA, I shall try THAT one,” then Chantilly is for you.

Now if only Nars could make any of their tinted moisturizers pale enough. I still end up mixing Finland, for example, almost 50% with pure white foundation! That’s ridiculous. At that point, the texture of the product is totally changed.

I actually wish they would go one lighter than Chantilly but with the same undertone. Chantilly is my summer concealer (so I can only use it for about 3 months). I always check to see if there’s a new fair shade whenever they release new colors. I would also love to see new fair shades in their foundations as well.

I wear Caramel in the creamy formula and I usually add a little bit of Amande to deepen some. My favorite Nars concealer was the discontinued stick one in Praline. I still have a stick and a concealer duo in Praline that I use when I want the perfect concealer. Don’t know why they discontinued those. Tried the new Soft Matte one in Caramel , it was a great color on me but it keep creasing no matter what I did to set it. I alternate with Nars Radiant Creamy concealer and Tarte Shape tape in Tan.

I tried this right after it was first released, and I didn’t love it! It was really drying on my skin – and especially under my eyes! I was so disappointed by it! Now, I love the Soft Matte concealer!!

I have used Chantilly off and on for years. It is too yellow for me but is light enough. After Shape Tape hit the market I pretty much gave up on this concealer. If I were to revisit it I would have to try mixing shades. Too much work when there are other concealers that match perfectly and work just as well. I think it is a really good concealer though.

This is my go to concealer. Chantilly is one of the few shades out there for very pale skin. I use it anywhere around the perimeter of my face. I use Vanilla around my nose. I also wish there was a shade in between Chantilly and Vanilla that had a pale yellow undertone. Not peachy! Pale skin often has redness and needs yellow tones to correct 😊

Always nice to see shade expansions! At first I thought there was nothing for me here, but I might think about picking up Cafe con Leche. Mixed with Chantilly it might cover redness better than Vanilla does. I’m glad they released a light color with a pronounced yellow tone.

Thank you, Christine for the amazing swatches.

I’ve tried a travel-size of this concealer and enjoyed the formula, especially the coverage, but the shade range is really lacking for light skin tones in my opinion. I wasn’t able to find a match. Chantilly is way too pale for me and the none of the other light shades have the soft yellow undertones that I need.

I love these “concealers”. I use quotations bc i use one as a perfect match for my skin for blemishes and red marks. I use one about 2 shades lighter to highlight and conceal undereyes, around the nose to my lip corners, and chin. I use one a few shades darker to minimize my jaw, neck, under my cheekbones and around my hairline for sculpting. Bc they are creamy, they are easy to blend with my foundation and give a great look after blending and finishing with LM translucent powder. Wonderful versital product. I started with minis to make sure my colors were right.

Not counting illuminating, corrector, or outlier products, there are nine brands in my concealer bag. Always considered myself a minor Nars ho, but did not like this before the shade extension…and I believe they did a slight formula tweak. Now have two RCCs, but never got dark enough for macadamia this summer. I don’t love this, and it migrated to the bottom of the bag, after resisting it for years. Cannot pinpoint exactly why…prob does not play as well with personal HG products. With genetic circles, have been on the concealer crusade for fifty years. Yeah, 50. Reactivities rule out shape tape and some others. I find many concealers are four stars, but have yet to find a five star. Mascara is the same way, although there are plenty of 4.5s in that group! And let’s not forget that concealer and mascara are conjoined twins, one is totally dependent on the other, which only adds to the concealer problem.

I had such high hopes for this concealer but I really don’t like it. I find that its finish is exactly the opposite of “radiant” or “creamy” and it makes my under-eye area look scaly 90% of the time. It’s disappointing because the colour match with Vanilla is perfect and this isn’t exactly an inexpensive product. When they launched the newer “matte” concealer, I figured it would be really dreadful for me since it would look even drier and scalier than the “radiant creamy” one so I haven’t even tried it but maybe I should.

I wear this concealer in Amande. I originally bought it for my under eyes but it makes me look older because it creases there. This concealer makes a fantastic foundation. Amande is a better foundation shade for me. I just dot it on my cheeks to cover acne marks on no makeup, makeup days

Thanks so much for the swatch post, Christine.

Overall, I think this is a pretty solid concealer, though not my holy grail. I use Creme Brulee for my undereyes and the color is perfect, but I do find I get some minor issues with creasing over the course of the day. to compensate, I use it pretty sparingly, and only in the dark circle area (which doesn’t have any particular lines to speak of and doesn’t see much real movement). I really can’t relate to youtubers applying more than a couple dabs under the eyes, which would wear very poorly for me. It’s very brightening and a pleasure to apply, though. Looking forward to trying Shape Tape when this runs out.

A blend of Shape Tape for highlighting under the eye and Becca Aqua Luminous Concealer for directly under the lower lash line is usually my go to.I enjoy the Soft Matte from Nars I have it in Cannelle.I have tried samples of the Radiant Creamy in Custard but like others have mentioned I think they need to extend their light medium shade range because it seems to me like the shades they have are too yellow or too pinky or peachy maybe something more neutral.Something between Cannelle and Custard because Honey isn’t working for my skintone at all and Cannelle is too light and Custard is too dark.

I absolutely LOATHE this concealer. I had it in Custard and it just made me look jaundiced (I don’t always wear foundation, which sort of explains it) and exchanged that for Vanilla but, honestly, I’ve tried and tried and this is anything BUT “radiant” or “creamy” on me….more like “dry” and “scaly”. It’s one reason I haven’t tried their newer “matte” concealer – if the “creamy” one looks so dry-gulch on me, I don’t hold out much hope for the matte one (though I should give it a try in-store).

Right now my concealer approach is pretty stable (unlike my quest for blushes and mascara) — I use YSL Touche Éclat for undereyes; when that runs out I’ll look at the NARS creamy concealer, I think I’d be either Chantilly or Café con Leche. For other concealer needs (spot, general coverage), NARS soft matte and Cle de Peau are my go to’s.

Love this concealer. Ginger is my perfect match to my skin. But I’ve never used this brand for undereye. I like the recommendations but wonder if honey would be too light? Hmm.

It’s great that Nars is continually adding to their colour range of concealers and the swatches are really useful in determining which one would/could be best for you.
This is the way a sponsored post should be conducted – as Emil above stated. Well done Christine.

Yay to sponsored posts!
I’ve been dedicated to the radiant (for under eyes etc.) and still love it. Fine lines yes, but dark circles, I’ve never had that issue (just some usual faint purplish/blue morning discoloration). I bought the soft matte last week on a reco from Wwendy and it’s great too, thicker and I have to use a brush, but also good. I’m finding personally, using powder sets the fine lines in rather than just concealer. I’ve tried bare minerals, Laura Mercier, MUFE, Too Faced, and they all do the same.
Any recos on that?
Maybe I need to stop looking in my 10x close up simplehuman mirror? 😉

Absolutely loved this post!! I’ve spent over an hour examining my various concealers next to your swatches. Would be great to see similar “coverage” (ha) on foundations. I’ve worn NAR’s Tinted Moisturizer in St. Moritz for several yrs. but would like other options w/ a bit more coverage. Even ordered an $125 Cle de Peau (sp?) foundation that I ended up throwing away. The Barney saleswoman spent so much time on the phone w/me I didn’t want to return it.

This post is totally awesome. It’s really making me want to go to Sephora and try a sample. I have never tried any concealers or foundations for NARS, but the swatches are really great for comparison purposes.

I do agree with some of the other commenters that there seems to be missing shade in the light shade range, like a “Vanilla” shade with a yellow undertone, or even a neutral undertone would be great for me I think.

I fell in love with this concealer back in December when I needed something more moisturizing than my Shape Tape by Tarte. I got the “biscuit” shade (I am NC 42 in MAC) and it is my perfect shade to cancel out the darkness and make it even. If I wanted more of a highlight I’d go with the shade Custard. Anyway, I love the formula. Very hydrating for the terrible and dry Boston weather.
