Proud ColorPop is stepping out of their norm. Great start with colors but the darker shades needs more within the range. I’m sure as time goes on they will explore this for my in the middle chocolate sistas. For reference I am an NC45.
Definitely let them know what you feel they’re missing! Both from working with them on this project as well as right in the video (embedded in the post), they acknowledge that there are more shades than 15 that exist but that this was what they felt was a good start. I can also pass along any feedback from readers to them 🙂
Deep Golden 60 is a dead ringer for NC45… 🙂
Thanks Barbara i tend to go a little lighter under my eye (my usual is Nars creamy concealer im the shade caramel) guess it never hurts to try color pop always puts out great products.
What shades would you recommend for contour and concealer for NC42 and NC45?
Curious to see how these wear, but I don’t think they have a shade light enough for me. As with most concealers/foundations, it could use a bit of expansion for the lightest and darkest skintones. I realize this is a start and they might update as time goes on, and this will probably suit 90% of people. Good start I think! 🙂
Finally; a lower cost brand having quite a wide range of shades AND undertones representing just about everyone! And at this price, it obviously wouldn’t be cost prohibitive to buy 2 or 3 and customize to ones exact shade. Hoping that the formula also knocks it out of the court!
Hmm, IDK about these. I think I’m in between shades, and the lighter shades look a bit sheer for a concealer- I can see your skin underneath, but maybe they are buildable
Christine, I’m hearing from girls in some of my groups that these are oxidizing on them. Did you have that experience as well?
They dry down darker than they appear wet or in the tube, which happens across a lot of more matte liquid formulas (concealer/foundation) in my experience. Oxidation seems more like what happens over time (like you apply it and then an hour later, it has changed color, often undertone), not just the product drying down – no different than liquid lipstick that dries to matte looks different wet vs. dry), and I haven’t worn any for wear yet (they arrived late on the 24th, so I’ve only had enough time to get photos/swatches going!).
I should add that I haven’t personally seen oxidation of the shades I used today yet, but it’s only been a couple of hours.

I didn’t notice any darkening yesterday when I wore it – it seemed about the same, but it will definitely look darker once you start blending/buffing and it thins and dries down but find that it changes shortly after working with it or to a partial dry down but then doesn’t change so much in depth as it does in finish from there.
Thanks so much! I’ll go ahead and pop one in my CP cart for my next order. If the shade I guess ends up darkening too much, I can probably just go ahead and use it as a cream contour shade.

Hmmmmm. Trying to figure out if I have any chance of finding a shade match. Just based on these swatches, I’m thinking no. Just eyeballing it, I’m guessing your arm runs cooler and fairer than your face? But even with that in mind, it looks like Fair is the only truly fair shade, and it looks very strongly yellow. Would you say that’s a fair (haha) assessment?
The inside of my arm is lighter, and I run neutral-to-warm (I’m not cool-toned at all) — warmer more than true neutral but not very warm-toned. Light 20 is the closest match for my face but would run a little dark for under eye concealing.
Fair 5 is yellow-toned but doesn’t appear quite as yellow in person (it seems to pull slightly yellower on camera, even when photographed with other shades next to it that appear color-accurate!). Fair 5’s yellow does read slightly cooler (where as Light 20 is richer and warmer).
I’d really consider trying one of these but how on earth am I supposed to guess at the color?

Fair Neutral 10 looks like the perfect color for me but I am concerned it will be too matte. I mainly use concealer under my eyes and although the matte formulas wear longer, they are sometimes too matte for under the eyes. I will also want to know if it is truly crease-proof.
It’s nice to see deeper shades in the range. Sadly, these all look too dark my skin unless I’m covering up my dark circles, so I’m may be passing.
So it looks like 3 shades each of light, medium-light, medium, medium-dark, and dark. There are definitely gaps in the range, but the gaps seems fairly evenly distributed in the range (if that makes sense). If this is an initial offering, and they intend to expand a bit later, then I’m actually impressed with the range. I don’t need any concealer right now (bought the KVD one not too long ago) but when I do, I’m curious to try these (though not for the undereye). I think Fair 5 would be my color, especially if they dry darker (seems like it might actually be yellow enough, which is rare).

You wrote that these have “medium buildable coverage” but the ladies in the video state the product has full coverage? Which is it?
And if these rate well I am coming right over to the US and buying a suitcase full for my niece’s Indian bridal makeup biz becuz she needs THIS. Those orange-y deep shades look perfect to cover up the dark circles in Indian skin tones.
They mentioned it was buildable in the video as well, actually – around 1:20 where Jordynn says it’s pigmented, Sharon commented that it was also buildable, which Jordynn followed with using it lightly for medium coverage. I quoted directly from the release/press sheet they included with the samples, though.
