Sonia Kashuk Eyeshadow Duos in Dynamic Duo and Double Whammy

Dynamic Duo

Sonia Kashuk Eyeshadow Duos ($7.99) are a great, budget-friendly way to satisfy your eyeshadow fix. Today, I thought we’d take a look at two duos:

Dynamic Duo is a mix of pale, seafoam green and a dirty brown with silver-gray frost.  Dynamic Duo works really well with the cooler weather these days, as it’s just dark enough to work with autumn tones, but it’s not so vampy that it’s too dark, either. Dynamic Duo is a very wearable duo, and I didn’t find either shade to be chalky or hard to use. Both shades were pigmented and had a frost finish.

Double Whammy is a vibrant, medium blue with a soft sheen and a bright pop of springy green with yellow undertones.  Double Whammy is one of my favorite Sonia Kashuk duos, because it is extremely pigmented, but it is also vibrant. Sometimes it can be difficult to find this kind of brightness in the drugstore, but Sonia Kashuk gives us a good answer for bright blues and greens. The blue reminds me of MAC’s Freshwater, while the green is kind of a mix of MAC’s Swimming and Juxt.

I’m loving Double Whammy. The blue definitely reminds me of Freshwater. The green kind of reminds me of the green from the Barbie Loves Mac collection.

I might have pick this up even though, I already have both of those colors.. lol 🙂

I am going to pick up both of these today! (if it stops raining anytime soon) I’ve been wondering about this line, so i’m glad you reviewed! Thanks

I have DoubleWhammy,,,,but I actually want to get Dynamic Duo as well now. The dirty brown color is what I have been looking for, but Have not found the “just right one” yet. Thanks for the swatch!

Hey Christine! Those eyeshadow duos look delish, thanks for the suggestion! But might I suggest, I think a “Money Saving Monday” product would be Bath&Bodyworks’ new limited edition Liplicious Lip Jewels. They’re in that squeezy tube witht he slanted tip applicator, & the product itself TOTALLY reminded me of MAC dazzleglass! All except the fact that it’s $10 less, seeing as it sells for $8 a pop. & B&BW always has like a Buy 2 get 1 free thing. Only thing is that it only comes in 4 shades, but they are totally “Holiday glam.” This is just a suggestion.

& Btw, if you ever do your infamous lip swatches with these, I’m sure your lips will look fabulous as usual. [:

Both these duos remind me of NARS duos. Dynamic duo is almost exactly like habanera and double whammy is like a non cracked out version of rated r.

OH! Pretty! I’m not crazy about Dynamic Duo, simply because they’re boring and ordinary, but Double Whammy really packs a double whammy!

i have one of these called tarzan & jane…a ricepaper & sumptuous olive-ish combo….
what i like about it is the texture of the shadows of course, along with the little mirror AND the transparent window being incorporated within the lid…smart packaging.

I’ve been curious about the shadows but, didn’t want to throw away money if it was as cruddy as L’Oreal HIP. I LOVE the Double Whammy swatch. Will you be swatching other Sonia Kashuk shadows? These would be great for my overnight makeup bag. Thanks!

I just checked and found your other Sonia Kashuk swatches – sorry about that. I do have two question: 1) As a whole, do you like her matte shadows or do you find them chalky and/or crumbly and; 2) Is the payoff good (for both matte and shimmery) or do the shadows need to be wet to appear vibrant?

Wow, that light green in Dynamic Duo looks gorgeous. Sea Green used to be my favorite Crayola crayon color, and that eyeshadow just brought my back to the good old days. Ahh. Definitely buying this next time I’m at Target! Thanks for the review!
