Sneak Peek: Too Faced Stardust Eyeshadow Palette Photos & Swatches
Too Faced Stardust Eyeshadow Palette ($45.00 for 0.48 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette exclusively available at ULTA in collaboration with @vegas_nay. It contains twelve eyeshadows, and it is a predominantly warm-toned palette with shades that range from mostly matte white to terracotta brown to glittery gold. It also includes a travel-sized mascara, primer, and glitter pigment. Full review to come, but hope you enjoy this sneak peek!
It’s a nice looking set of swatches, I don’t see any major duds, and I like Follow Me (purple), but it’s mostly brown/neutrals, and I have enough of those shades already. With a Vegas and Stardust theme, I was expecting a much more colorful palette. Maybe they should rename this Desert Sands. I’ll save my money for the UD Spectrum palette.
I’ve lived in Las Vegas for almost 20 years, and the colors in this palette actually do a fairly good job of representing the city. There’s a more “modern” casino section (called The Strip) and then there’s the “older” casino section, which is the one featured in a lot of mob movies. This palette is more reflective of the latter: gold rings on each finger, Liberace, fur coats, leopard print, etc. I would even say it’s more representative of a daytime older Vegas. The purple color Follow Me is a nice homage to the modern Vegas casino culture and The Strip shade is appropriately named, in my opinion, as it seems to be representative of new money.
To be fair, there aren’t much colors out here in Las Vegas. But I do agree with you that they probably could’ve nixed some of the repetitive pale shades and replaced Pink Pearl and/or #Selfie with a royal blue with glitter or an olive green with cool-toned shimmer. Just my opinion. 😉
This swatched a lot better than I expected given the last few TF palettes. I like the color combo. It is perfect for me for Fall. I’m interested in the review. But-IDK, So many good things coming out now and soon. I am surprised this is still available actually! It would have to perform really well for me to buy it with all the Holiday goodies coming up!
Wow, that’s very nice!… I mean, if you don’t own the Chocolate Bar Palette, or any of the Nakeds… or any popular neutral palette. Oh well…
#Selfie, Pink Pearl, & The Strip pretty much look identical to one another. Wish different shades were used intstead; pointless to have 3 of the same looking color.
I can’t speak for darker skin tones, but I have very fair skin, and they all look different when swatched on me. Chandelier is more champagne pink and is the lightest of the three. Pink Pearl is much pinker and more glittery than Chandelier and The Strip. The Strip is darker than the other two and is mauve.
Haha, I immediately thought the same thing
I noticed that too! On the eye there’s no way those 3 would show up as different colors. My thought was what a waste.
I ordered this palette from Ulta beauty last week and my tracking # says it will arrive next week on the 9 th . I swear Ulta uses ?mail !!!! ???
Mine arrived today. Gorgeous colors. I can’t wait to play with it. The purple is a good one!
The Strip is a nice shade but I’m not feeling it overall.
Love Golden Nugget and Show Girl – but the rest are not really up my alley. It is a real summer palette though.
Cora (Vintage or Tacky) did a look with this. She gushed over this palette, but does not do her opinions/ ratings systematically. She also always uses primer. But, check her video out on her blog: Vintageortacky.com.
The red-based browns are pretty nice, but the three mentioned shimmers could translate the same on many persons. This looks like a swatch-it-in-person-first palette.
Hmm, I like Millennial, the Strip & Follow Me…these all look better than I expected, actually. I will definitely wait for your review, though! 🙂
Now this one is pretty tempting… I like that I could do a very warm, neutral, but super-smokey 90’s look with this baby!
Poor Marlena. Everyone is ripping off her Vegas theme.
I thought the same thing at first, but Vegas Nay is actually the name of a makeup artist on Instagram. (I don’t do Instagram, so I was in the dark.)
the colors are quite dupable imo and three of the shades look very similar to each other but i think the swatches look pretty decent.
I was going to buy this the other day but said to myself I’m going to wait ’til I see a Temptalia swatch. I’m glad I did. I’m not very excited about it anymore. The colors are pretty but no big standouts for me. Dat Jackpot though. That be a pretty one.
I ordered this yesterday because I had a bunch of Ulta rewards points, and I’m a sucker.
I like the look of this palette, however I think I have dupes for most of the eyeshadows in it. I guess I’ll know after reading the review.
Wow, I didn’t expect the colors to look so gorgeous!
Some beautiful colors but being that I live in Canada I am unable to get this palette. I am sure the ladies who do get this palette will enjoy using it.
I don’t own any Too Faced palettes, and I was leaning towards the Chocolate Bar… But then I read your review and swatches. Disappointment. However, the sneak peak swatches look really good; so I think I’ll be going for this one! Cannot wait to hear your thoughts. 🙂
I’m a big fan of more wearable colors and metal shades (copper, gold, bronze, rose gold). So for me this is awesome.
