Sneak Peek: Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette Photos & Swatches
Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette ($45.00 for 0.48 oz.) is a new palette that seems to be permanent and features 11 matte eyeshadows and one satin-to-pearl shade (Peach Sangria).
Based on the survey I asked readers to take last week, a lot of you did want first impressions when I feel comfortable making them, and those that did not would rather a brief review. So, here’s the end result: I’ll try providing first impressions whenever I feel confident enough to do so, because the reality is if I wasn’t going to do at least a brief review, there wasn’t going to be any review at all, so this way, you can get a preliminary sense of the palette, just in case I do not do a full review (which isn’t the case with this palette; this is mostly to test the waters as holiday review season will start shortly).
First Impressions
Some of the lighter shades have a stronger white base, and some of the shades felt drier and chalkier to the touch, but with respect to Too Faced’s formula, I’m not sure that’s a bad thing as these were not nearly as powdery as other eyeshadows by the brand. I noticed that the lighter peach/coral shades tended to darken on the lid, and I had issues with those lighter shades really wearing away must faster than is normal (with the brand’s primer as well as without) when worn along the inner lid to inner half half of the lid as well as the inner tear duct area (I’m assuming any wateriness of the eyes, even if slight, was the culprit, and my eyes were not particularly watery when wearing this palette).
The pigmentation seemed to be better than usual and ranged from good to great, fairly buildable and forgiving to use. Despite the texture of the eyeshadows seeming to be less silky and finely-milled, they actually blend and apply better than some of the brand’s palettes have for me. The palette has a sweet, peachy scent, though I found it less noticeable just having the pan open compared to other scented palettes by Too Faced.
Too many shades in here I wouldn’t wear, but wow, the Peach Punch shadow is fabulous! Eyeliner on your lower lash line? I’m looking for look deets and don’t see it. Nevermind..I found it as link in the photo 🙂 Thanks!

Christine your look is making me wanna buy this one :\ And I’m so over this peach thing I didn’t want to get anything to support that.
Christine, I think this post format with detailed first impressions will work very well for the holiday season releases!
As for the palette, I’m almost surprised that it sounds pretty good. I guess I now expect Too Faced’s new products to be consistently mediocre, lol!
I agree – when you’re swamped with stuff to test for the holidays, a “first impressions” like this is really sufficient, I think, especially when you’re swamped for time. If you could (you may not want to do this because of the care you put into assigning a letter grade to products) and overall “I think this deserves a B-” would be helpful. I realize it’s not as carefully thought out as your detailed ratings but if it could be a “first impressions overall rating” – I think most of us would be plenty happy with that.
To be honest, it’s really hard to give a rating for a set/palette without actually rating them individually – there are just too many components that go into each rating that I would not feel comfortable alluding to a rating! I’m very sorry!
No problem, Christine. I thought it might just make your life a bit easier at this time of year. I suspected, though, that you wouldn’t want to compromise the integrity of your rating system by taking a “shortcut” like this (and I was right!) You really are the BEST!
Thank you for always understanding <3
Agree with Lulle; I think this is a perfect format for holiday releases, that way you aren’t swamped with trying to do detailed commentary on each limited edition offering before they are released to the public. Thank you so much for all you do Christine!! 🙂
Christine, this is perfect for what I need to make a decision, assuming the palette was one I was considering. The swatches look better than a lot of Too Faced e/s and definitely better than I was expecting. I think my daughter will really like this and probably will pick one up for her after the rush has died down.
Dupes for Peach Punch and Just Peach please?
Hi Vannia,
This is not a review, just a sneak peek, which means I have not had a chance to enter dupes. Entering dupes is the last part of the review, as it typically can take awhile to do so (there are likely 150-250 dupes for this palette that need to be entered).
Hi Christine, thanks for your response, I’m only interested in those two shades because I think I have the rest of them in other palettes! Have a nice long weekend! Cheers
Vannia, if you click on the names (the shade names in white on a grey background under the very first set of photos), you’ll be taken to a review of that individual shade and you will find a “dupes” button there. Click on that and you’ll get the message that there are NO dupes yet but below that, there will be “Possible Dupes”. You can look at those and click on them and even see dupes for those shades and that will show you a whole bunch of dupes of the similar shades. I hope this makes sense. I just looked and there are several “Possible Dupes” for Peach Punch and if you look at any of those, you can see a whole further list of Dupes.
Mariella, thank you for this tutorial, even though it wasn’t directed at me!! I have never thought to try to look for dupes when there are none listed due to the swatches just being a sneak peak. You learn something new every day! This website is so helpful and so well managed, thank you Christine.
Gosh, Deborah, don’t thank me – we should both thank Christine and her tech team. They’re the ones who make it all possible. I’ve been coming here for many years and I remember the “old” dupe list….it was just a “list” and didn’t seem to change much or often. Ever since Christine redid the way the Dupe List operates, it’s been such a great resource for many of us and especially for someone like me, who keeps buying the same shades over and over again, just with different names and from different companies! 😉
Angelamarytanner on Instagram did dupes for this palette, inglot 361 is a dupe for just peachy and inglot 366 is a dupe for peach punch!
Dang it, I was hoping it would swatch terribly because I want it but it’s so pricy lol. Well, now I’m buying it…
Looks like a fair improvement from Jerrod et Cie. Not into the scented thing, and most of these shades will be duped in stash for most readers, but it’s nice to see some mattes swatch better than expected. Pretty good show.
Like Wwendy, these are not my colours at all, with 2 or maybe 3 exceptions and those aren’t “exceptional” enough for me to buy the whole palette (I likely have dupes). I’m really tired of all the “Modern Renaissance” derivatives and my feelings about fragrance in EYE products are the same as ever – DUMB place to put fragrance!
agree with you Mariella, Dumb place to put fragrance!
I must say, I usually quickly gloss over Too Faced’s edible-based products bc they’re usually shades I don’t feel I pull off well, but this palette, at first glance, caught my eye. I think I will pass, though, because it’s too similar-looking to palettes I’d rather have like ABH Modern Renaissance, and shades I already have.
The look is nice…not sure it would do well me, I would prefer just one or two shimmas in there..but it is a matte palette after all:) Some nice lookin colors for sure..I would take it if on sale maybe:). Lol.
Christine, do you think someone who has the original Peach palette and the Modern Renaissance could pass on this one? I waited until recently to get the Peach Palette and it’s now one of my go-tos, but I really love the idea of an all-matte palette in these shades. Any input would be super helpful!
You can compare any two palettes here: http://www.temptalia.com/makeup-dupe-list/#pvp
Once official dupes are actually added, any dupes that overlap will show up with a pink border, but similar shades will show (based on color depth, undertone similarity, and finish similarity):

I’m loving the First Impressions, Christine! Great work, as always!
They FINALLY did it; I do not see Sodium Saccharin listed as an ingredient!
However…even though I totally love this one, I already own ABH MR, CP Yes, Please, and many warm neutrals across palettes and singles I’ve amassed mostly from MAC, CP and UD.
I am, however, extremely pleased by 2F seeming to forego using Sodium Saccharin in their newest Peach edition and also in the Kandee Johnson Palette and Banana Pudding Powder!
This is just another palette I’ve seen that, imo, is capitalizing off the Lime Crime Venus palette’s popularity – Urban Decay has Naked Heat, Makeup Revolution has the Newtrals & Neutrals, and MAC and BH cosmetics have similar ones… the warm nude colors and corals. So all I have to say is…yawn? I also suspect that some of the darker matte shades will get a low rating, they look kind of patchy…
Elizabeth I love the original Venus palette! I have literally gone into a tanning bed and it didn’t budge on me until I took it off with a makeup remover (and that’s without primer). I didn’t like the Venus II sadly. I’m not sure if everyone is capitalizing off the original Venus palette, or if it just inspired a lot of imitation, but it certainly holds its own against all that came after. 🙂
No one is copying Lime Crime and LC wasn’t the first to do a warm toned palette. LC is on no one’s radar and they are copying a trend already set by other brands.
I think it was probably ABH Renassiance and Venus by LC that started it. I hate to say it, because Lime Crime is such a shady business. It’s not just the warm nudes, it’s combining them with the bright coral pink. Either way, it seems like every brand is rushing to make palettes with these colors and some of them are sacrificing quality to jump on the trend. I kind of wish each brand focused on its strong suit rather than trying to do trends – i.e. Urban Decay with their dud liquid lipsticks and topcoats
The palette doesn’t call to me, but I do love this format and would be very happy to see this during holiday madness – it certainly gives me enough to go off of to make a decision on whether or not I want to proceed on something I’m strongly leaning towards to begin with!
These are really pretty shades and I love the eye look you created!
This seems like much better quality than some of their other recent releases. I’m not sure I’d wear them but very pretty!
I bought this today; for several months I’ve been looking for medium-tone peach-y mattes. I’m am happy the scent is lighter, and the pigmentation better, than I anticipated,
p.s. I’m loving the ‘first impressions’ format!
I think this Palette is pretty but am sure I have at least one dupe for every shade . Thank you fir the Sneak Peak, Christine !
I picked this up the moment it went live on Sephora. It’s difficult for me to buy a palette unless I can justify using every shade. I bought and returned the Naked Heat palette, since on my skin-tone, most of the shades in the middle looked very similar. Not the case with Just Peachy. Each shade is unique, and they all apply/ blend perfectly. You can get a lot of versatility out of the shade selection. I love that they have a couple matte brow shades, which is whats lacking most in other palettes. Overall I love it.
The only cons I have are the smell, and longevity. It’s not really a true peach, but kind of artificial (like a peach jolly rancher). The scent doesn’t transfer on application though. The color faded a bit after several hours of wear. There was still noticeable color after 6 hours, but definitely was lacking in its original vibrancy.
Far a pale red-head, this is the perfect palette, in my opinion, for everyday looks.
I’m a pale red head too and these colors make me look sick and make my eyes look tired and like I have been crying. I never wear these colors. Different skin tones.
I’m pleasantly surprised and very pleased that TF did a good job on this palette. After so many subpar releases I had zero hope this would be worth purchasing. Definitely going on my list. I’ll pick it up during Sephora’s sale in November.
Christine this format is awesome!
These are lovely and unique matte shades, but it would look like a severe case of pink eye on my fair skin. Medium-to-dark skin tones, have at it!
That’s what these colors look like on me too!
For a pleasant change, most of these mattes seem pretty good. Personally, I wouldn’t purchase this palette as the shades don’t suit me, but they are looking better than what I have seen before.
I swatched this today at Sephora and wanted to buy but resisted bc I think I’ll wait for a VIB sale during the holidays. It swatches beautifully and Peach Punch and Peach Sangria are divine!
This looks surprisingly good! It’s similar enough to ABH MR that I’ll pass, but this looks like a nice option for people in the market for warm mattes.
I own this palette and am absolutely loving it. The scent of peach is faint and fresh, and I only detected it upon purposefully smelling the eye shadows in search of the fragrance. Otherwise, I never notice it. The colors are highly blendable and long lasting for me. I particularly love the matte selection, which make this palette a more unique option than others. It is a great choice for 40-somethings who still want a pop of color, but not so much shimmer. The three darker shades also work great for the outer corner or for lining when wet. I do like to add my Elf mineral eye shadow in Sweet to the center eyelids or inner corners when I do want to add shimmer. They complement each other perfectly.
These colours are too warm for me, so it’s an easy pass. Hopefully a cool toned palette is waiting in the wings – Just Plummy, perhaps?
Thanks Christine for taking the time to do a first impressions. There are so many launches as it is, and I can imagine the holidays becomes just extra madness for reviewing!
This looks like a pretty palette, though the shades are quite familiar. Peach palette, UD, modern renaissance, even that mac palette in the fruity collection have some version of the same shades. I have several of those, and can’t say I use them particularly frequently. Yet this palette still has its seductive appeal…lol.
Anyway, I’m going to try to fight the urge and save my next purchase for something a little different to add to my collection.
Thanks for the review — and that is a really pretty look you did with it!
It looks good and if it had come out a year ago I probably would’ve gotten it. Now though, it’s just one more drop in the ocean of all warm-toned ModRen type palettes. I have plenty of dupes and near-dupes.
I love peach shadows but there are only two out of all these shades that I like and only one of them is a peach shade.
Mine arrived just minutes ago and I was giddy to see it. I also ordered it the moment it went live (watched some swatching and vids almost immediately too) and I cannot wait to play with it. As a side note, I don’t like strong fragrance and I find this to have only very subtle peachy notes. Win!
I have a secondary order of a couple lipsticks from the launch arriving in the next day or so.
Wow, this is pretty much everything I wanted the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette to be. I’d be tempted if I didn’t already have ABH MR and Colourpop Yes, Please, but I’ll pass. Maybe if it goes on sale. Thanks for the swatches!
