Sneak Peek: Tarte Color Vibes Eyeshadow Palette Photos & Swatches

Tarte Color Vibes Eyeshadow Palette

Tarte Color Vibes Eyeshadow Palette ($46.00 for ) is a new, limited edition palette for the holidays that features 20 shades of eyeshadow. The palette is broken down into four sets of shades. It is a fairly neutral, warm-toned palettes with a few muted pops of color (like Seascape, Inked, Getty Up & Go), so I imagine that some may find this color family well-represented in their stash. It has a mix of mattes and shimmers, but there aren’t too many in-between shades, so I’ll be curious to see how they layer and blend with each other.

I hope to review this, but I don’t expect to have a review for this for at least two weeks–unfortunately, the palette I purchased arrived with a broken mirror. I figured I could still photograph and swatch it, even if I wouldn’t test it (there are shards missing from where the mirror broke) due to concerns about safety (with good cause — I ended up cutting myself just by swatching, so that’s another lesson learned). I’m still waiting to hear back from Tarte’s customer service on whether they’ll replace this palette or not, and assuming they will, it’ll take another week for it to arrive here and at least a week to test. As a result, unfortunately, I will not be able to review this in a timely manner and my review will be very late, possibly too late if it sells out prior to that. I’m very sorry!

Yikes, sucky that you cut yourself but hey you tried to make it work.

This is a cute palette but I feel like I have dupes of all of these colors therefore there isn’t a need to purchase this one. I don’t have a tarte palette and plan on getting one but one of those round ones, Cause I like the shape lol.

Haha! Yes, gives a whole new meaning to putting my blood, sweat, and tears into the blog, I suppose.

I didn’t THINK there was any pieces on the eyeshadows (there was a piece of film to protect), but the risk was less with my arm vs. my eye, where even something super, super tiny could cause big problems, lol.

Exactly why I wouldn’t even think of using any of the shades until Tarte sends you the replacement. Just not worth it. Take from someone who knows. At 2 or 3 years old, I got a piece of the old-fashioned, VERY unsafe glitter lodged in my one eye. It did finally get taken off by my Mom after the pediatric Doc failed on multiple attempts. There is as a direct result, some loss of visual acuity in that eye. No. Not worth risking your sight.

Oh dear…that shattered mirror (and no protective film to keep the mirror from shattering or holding the broken glass in place if it did) is just really BAD (and just one more reason I prefer to shop in person!). There are a few very nice colours in this one but as I said before, this really doesn’t look all that different from so many of their previous releases in small, medium sized and huge palettes…same shades/different names.

Wow, that seascape color looks gorgeous! I may have to search out a dupe though, because buying a palette just for one shade is not in my budget!

1. Yikes! I hope you’re okay. Beauty shouldn’t be painful, right??
2. I like the palette. I’m not going to get it because I have dupes for most everything, but the colors are nice and cohesive with a mix of mattes and shimmers and the swatches mostly look good. It’d be a good starter palette for someone just getting into makeup, I think.

Please never put make up before your health or safety. I realize it’s your livelihood, but it is not necessary in the moment, like brain or heart surgery. You can review it later. Now if it’s your family, that’s different. Some days you have to bleed for them, literally and figuratively. As to the palette, Tarte sure has carved themselves a predictable niche. Easy to recognize an unlabeled Tarte palette. But for those who wish 5 iterations of virtually the same shade, go for it! I confess to being like that about certain lipstick shades. And, as you say, it’s a Tarte nude palette with a couple of pops. Wish they’d do a palette of pops, with a few nude mattes for the balancing act.

Wow, this is pretty but nothing special. In general I like Tarte shadows but IMHO once you have one you pretty much don’t need another one. I have 3 and really only use one of them. There is such a slight variation in colors that it really doesn’t change the look you are creating by substituting a different neutral from another palette. I do love Seascape but not enough to buy a whole palette for it. This is an easy pass. So sorry you cut yourself!

Eeek, bad enough you cut yourself swatching, no need to lose an eye for us!! I like your eyes, so pretty. If Tarte was smart, they would overnight a new palette to you (and an apology), so you could review it. But thanks for the swatches. The purples and gray blue swatched better than I expected, and it’s nice to see more color in a Tarte palette, but the rest is same ol’, same ol’. As they say, if you have one Tarte palette, you have them all. Their LE metallic singles are far superior, comparable to UD and MUFE Artist in quality, and I was able to pick up a bunch at about $7 each ( or 50% off) using a combo of sale, cash back, and ulta reward dollars. I’d wish they had done a holiday value palette using those instead.

That stinks that the mirror came broken! I know it happens with every brand, but it’s a bummer. I appreciate the swatches but next time, save your fingers!!
Anyway, some of the colors look really nice. Definitely look in line with how their quality has been lately. My only issue, and oh it might sound strange, but those quad pairing/spacing segments really turn me off. It looks dated and reminds me of past Tarte palettes, when I wasn’t impressed at all with their payoff and color selection.

the swatches are interesting, it looks like they combined colours from all three of the UD naked palettes! eventhough they’re all neutral and similar to past releases from tarte, it would be cool if the pigment is awesome.

I really like Different Strokes – I’ve been popping peachy blushes in my crease lately and love the look but never really see a matte peach in palettes these days, or singles for that matter.

(sorry to hear about your finger)

Sorry you cut yourself! 🙁

Seascape and a few of the other colors look nice, but it looks like there are a few misses. I love neutral eyeshadow, but I still haven’t bought any of the Tarte eyeshadow palettes. I just haven’t been wooed by any of them yet.

Donna Avatar

Wow, that’s not good that the mirror was broken like that. Glad you didn’t try anything on your eyes! Sorry you still got cut though. You swatched all the shadows so we can see what they look like on skiin. Don’t worry that you couldn’t do them on your eyes. We’d much rather have you in one piece and with both eyes intact.

Bonnie Avatar

I’m sorry about the cut!!
Do you have any initial impressions to share with us so we know if it’s worth buying or passing? I’m totally in love with the shade Seascape. I haven’t bought a Tarte palette in ages bc they’re usually so bland. But their new singles were so good, I’m wondering if the frosts have the same quality?
