Sneak Peek: Stila Spring Shimmer & Glow / Glitter & Glow Eyeshadows Photos & Swatches
Stila Boheme Spring Shimmer & Glow
For spring, there are new shades in the Stila Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow ($24.00 for 0.153 oz.) range as well as in the Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow ($24.00 for 0.135 oz.) line-up. Here are swatches…
Boheme looks really nice; the others not quite so much.
oh 😮 I wish I could buy Stila in my country! it’s too bad…
General PSA: G*psy is a racial slur, and should not be used by non-Romani people.
I am *extremely* disappointed in Stila for doing this.
This was my first thought seeing this! Just sending a huge eyeroll towards Stila, I thought we got past the stage where everyone used that word to sound edgy and bohemian. They could have easily called the same color “Witchy” or something similar.
Would the best way to title/state the name be censoring with using “G*psy” – I was originally going to make a comment about the usage in the actual review but for “archive” purposes, what would be the best way to write it out? (There are other products in the past with the same word in the name, and I’d like to go through them all and re-title.)
Thank you!
That’s what I’d do, personally.
Thank you, Kayla! That is what I will go through and do right now.
No problem. Thanks for doing it! 🙂
Same. 5 minutes of research on the internet would have shown them this was a poor word choice.
I’m really sad that it’s the shade I like most, but I will not be purchasing it for this exact reason.
I have Gypsy and Enchantress and they are so gorgeous on the lid of the eye! I may have to get every one of them
Boheme and Perlina are so pretty! If there was only a way for me to be able to wear liquid eyeshadows like these without any weird allergy tearing breaking down their structural integrity on my lids… wondering if Nyx Glitter Primer could give enough of fixative effect? ?
Boheme!
Ugh. Way to ruin this line with a racist name. Never buying them again.
Love Boheme the best, the other shades I am not so keen on.
I have bought every single shade they have ever released of the Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow and the Shimmer & Glow. The formula on both is just stunning I’m obsessed. They can just push an eye look to the next level in my opinion!!
Oh dear! Most of those don’t look good.
Yay! So happy to see that word is finally crossing over into being unacceptable! Thanks for being willing to take a stand about it, Christine. 🙂
Boheme swatches as beautiful as Kitten. I picked up the holiday kit that had 3 shimmer and 3 glitters and all 3 shimmers are gorgeous, they don’t flake or crack, there’s no fallout and I always receive compliments when I wear them.
Carefree and Freedom are gorgeous. I’m sad to see a shade named “G*psy.” My editor and I were just talking about brands using this slur in their product names, and how we can’t cover good brands in our magazine because they have names like that. It’s inexcusable in this day and age.
I have an old Sonia Kashuk liquid eyeshadow called Quartz that is pretty close to Boheme.
Omg Boheme is life. It is my sought after colour for eyes and lips and I have bought tons of near dupes trying to chase this unicorn…
I didn’t know about the word g-psy. We had the king of the g-psys buried in my hometown we loved going to the cemetery at Memorial Day. They weren’t Romanian I lived in a tiny town in the Midwest. Sorry tho!
I do want the g-psy shade and enchantress. Maybe Boheme. I’m more into the glitter shades than the liquid eye shadow.
Thanks for sharing Christine.
Oh, I love Gypsy and Enchantress! I probably won’t buy these because of the price, but they are so pretty.
AH!
Love Boheme and Carefree. However, Boheme looks so close to my $5 ELF liquid shadow (or close enough), that Carefree will be my choice–plus great for spring!
I can’t decide what’s more disappointing: How patchy Fairy Tale looks, or the use of a racial slur.
No, wait, I can decide, definitely the tired use of the g-word.
Boheme seems like the clear winner.
The only one that I’m really intrigued by is Boheme! Very pretty!
