Pat McGrath LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.12 oz.) has 31 shades in the line-up, and I initially purchased six shades to test the waters. The brand sent an additional six shades over, and I picked up another 12 shades during Sephora’s Rouge VIB sale last week (I bought whatever shades I did not have that were available). I have 24 of the 31 shades swatched below. The ones I don’t have are: Anarkissed, Exxotica, Leatherette, Lust Angeles, Paradaise Garage, She’s So Deep, and Unfaithful.

I posted six of the swatches previously but figured it wouldn’t hurt to include them with the rest of the new swatches, too, should you be in the same mind as I and wanting to buy them during Sephora’s sale that starts tomorrow. 🙂

Gorgeousness! Thank you for this post! Only thing – Strangé has the accent-aigu, because she meant it like Grace Jones’ amazing character named Strangé in the 90’s movie Boomerang. Sephora also doesn’t bother to spell it right, which is poopy, because that reference is actually kinda hilarious.

Again, many thanks for posting this! I have La Beija, Beautiful Creature, Lavish, She’s Heaven!, Donatella and Realness – I think I need Sedition now, thanks to your post, and Lust Angeles, though I’ll have to take a leap of faith on that one. I appreciate these swatches so much!

I’m pretty fair myself, and I really like Donatella on me!
Then again, I do like nudes that aren’t too nude. I think it pulls a bit more brown than pink on me, but not terribly so. I’d say it’s worth trying out. It’s not dark, but not light either.
It’s comparable to Pat’s 1995 Mattetrance, at least on my lips.

Hope that helps!

I have not purchased any PM products. I have been scared to for fear I will fall in love and not be able to restrain myself. I look at this lipsticks and they are so beautiful and seem to be such a wonderful formula. I don’t know whether to splurge on one during the sale or try and hold off until after the first of the year. Such a difficult decision. Sooooo beautiful!!

wow these shades look soooo different than they do on the sephora website! this post actually has me enticed. i like ‘she’s heaven’ but i’m wondering if it looks too much like mac brick o la…

they totally killed it with the names of these colours though, love them all

Strange and Unnatural (ha!) look way too similar to me (I can see that Unnatural is more brownish, but still seems much too close to my eye). That aside, Strange, Sorry Not Sorry, Wrecked, and Beautiful Creature are all causing me to sigh wistfully (though I know I have one or more dupes for wrecked).

I have purchased 2 PM lipsticks so far. I find the color I purchased, 1995 a bit too beige on me . Last week, I bought Beautiful Creature Luxetrance, I loved your swatches of this color, but I’m disappointed it seems darker on me, slightly darker than the MJB Shush Blush lip that I already own.
Still, I may try one of her lighter shades. I prefer the velvet feel of the matte trance formula to the Luxetrance . I do not find anything unique about the feel or finish of the luxe trance formula.

The price point of $52CAN kills me every time though. lol

I really like the subtle blush red shade of Beautiful Creature. Not too red for me that I’d wear it more often and I find red too bold a colour for me on the daily. Yet I wear bright corals just fine so Profumo is calling me as well. lol

I think I need to see the dupes. Pat why are your prices soo boujee!

My feelings, too. It happened with Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet. I bought one, then *had* to buy another, and now I want more!! But I’m on a lipstick no-buy, and I’m being good. Besides, if I were to decide to go ahead and buy one of these Pat McGrath lipsticks (in the future), how in the world would I choose which shade?

These are gorgeous and amazing. That’s pretty obvious. What astounds me is how even/exact the finish is across all shades. Usually, the light shades gather more in the lip lines, or the darks go patchy. Y’all know what I mean…typical lipstick shade difficulties that we come to expect. It isn’t easy to make an entire range that applies with equal quality across all shades. But Pat did it. These are quite safe for a blind buy, if you can decide your shade(s.) No disappointment here. These swatches are a real service, as S’s online color squares are not at all reliable. Now we know! ‘Course I want all the ones i’m overduped on, but these will be massively difficult to resist. Thanks.

I like so many of these shades it’s ridiculous! BUT, I’m sticking to my lipstick no-buy for the next few months at least. My lipstick willpower is strong right now. I will look (and maybe drool a little) at the drop dead gorgeousness of these Pat McGrath shades, but I will not buy.

Sooo Many Colours I like but I do Not have Any lipstick from this Brand yet.
Do they have any taste ? This is very Important for me. And they are quite expensive so I would like to know before I buy one. Madame greige is so beautiful and I do Not have a similar colour.

I ordered 4 (not received yet) thru the VIB sale, blindly because the swatches on Sephora are terrible, more clearly terrible now that I see your beautiful swatches. I’m hoping I don’t like all 4 but I ordered anyway since Sephora doesn’t sell these lipsticks in the stores in my city (Miami) and its the only way to see the colors up close. I too am afraid I would love all of them. Heaven help me.

These are so pretty but yikes!! On the price. I didn’t go too crazy on the Sephora sale but I had to get the new bite glosses. Maybe someday , if I didn’t already have so many lip products and it’s christmas spend time.

I’m on a no-buy for lipstick, but I went ahead and got Beautiful Creature on discount yesterday. It’s plum, which is a lipstick color that is — believe it or not — absent in my collection, so justifiable even though I have a metric ton of lipstick. It’s probably a good thing Sephora was sold down so far, as I would otherwise likely have gotten Strange, which would have been … less justifiable.
