Sneak Peek: NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadows Photos & Swatches
NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow
NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow ($29.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a new product from the brand that will launch on July 1st (official info can be found here). Reviews should be up soon as I work my way through testing the twelve shades. NARS describes the new formula a wet/dry formula that is sheer applied dry, opaque applied with a dampened brush. They’ve debuted a new brush as well, the Wet/Dry Eyeshadow Brush #49. For reference, the left swatch is dry, the right is damp. Full reviews, photos, swatches, dupes, etc. to come – please save any questions for the review. Thank you! 🙂

These mostly look good, but I wish there was more shade variety. 🙁
Ooh, they look nice!
Europa is a lot paler then I though from the promo shots. sigh I was hoping for that stronger peach/orange tone.
These REALLY look like the KIKO water shadows – same type of packaging and all. Have you tried the KIKO verysion, Christine? Think Sephora did some too. I like this type of formulation 🙂
I’m not sure we have KIKO here? I haven’t seen it before.
Pretty sure there is like a Kiko shop in Jersey or something like that, but I haven’t been able to figure out how to get their products if you can’t get into the store though. I’ve been dying to get my hands on the watershadow Rosy Taupe for forever now.
Good to know! Thanks, Alex!
Kiko is European (Italian, I think?), I found some in Paris. They’re around the same price point as Inglot/Nyx.
they have one kiko in new jersey now

i really wanted to try Kiko for a long time , do they have an online store?
Kiko opened their first store in Paramus, NJ. It’s a great store with a lot of variety and their products are a little more expensive than NYX. For example their wet/dry eyeshadow that is a dupe for these shadows is $14 each.
Currently they do not sell to the US, but you can always try blog sales and independent sellers. Personally, I will buy people stuff and ship it to them because I live 10 minutes from the store. (Of course there’s shipping costs) so if you interested let me know!
KIKO is not sold in the U.S. and it’s hard to get online if you’re from the U.S. 🙁
These shadows look beautiful but I’ve never been one to bother using eyeshadows wet and the dry pigmentation is meh so I’ll have to skip.
Or in the continent of America period, their really only sold in Euroupe online. I’ve been wanting to get the Kiko version of this formula but with no luck.
Here is those eyeshadows I keep drooling over.

kiko is in us now!

Ooh I hope you find a dupe for Desdemona, it’s freaking beautiful!
Some of these are really nice, but others make me go “huh???” I personally prefer to have eyeshadows that function OK dry and become very intense wet!
I get what you are saying.. the last ones specially Lysithea and Syocrax don’t impress.. overall I think the colors are stunning! I am excited about these! 🙂
I’m with you, I’m very lazy and I will not use them wet as much as I want hehe. Dry, They are veeeeeeeeeery sheer :C
It’s a ridiculous price for a single pan eyeshadow. NARS has been disappointing me the last few years. I don’t feel the quality is anywhere in line with their price point, and now it’s just getting more out of hand.
That, I will agree with. Always do. NARS’ products can look really nice, but for the price? Eh.
This is pretty much exactly what I was going to comment! I have a couple NARS shadows and the quality isn’t any better than the Sephora brand, but the price is twice as much! and now these are $29 and have to be applied wet for opacity? haha, no thanks.
I hope the reviews are as good as the swatches look!
Hmm, some of them look quite stiff and poor color payoff.
I was like, oh yeah, looking forward to seeing the rest of them, then I realised THIS IS ALL OF THEM. What the hell? What an odd set of shades. Feels unfinished!
Those are gorgeous but when dry the color payoff is so poor I’m already starting to doubt their quality. Still they might perform better than expected and for that reason i’m glad they’re part of the permanent line.
But that’s the catch, right? They’re supposed to be sheer. To be honest, most of these colours are just wrong in sheer form. If anyone wore the dark colours, I’d think they were wearing poor quality eyeshadow.
At first I thought I’d be all over Desdemona, but now I think Phoebe is the one that I want, it’s so so gorgeous!
I see a few shades I want! A lot of them look a little sheer dry though. I hope they’re buildable at least
Cassiopeia will be mine. These swatches are more than I was expecting them to be!
This seems like an odd shade selection – no greens, golds, or bronzes, only 1 dark brown. And several very similar/overlapping colors. And wow, that’s a lot of money for 1 eyeshadow!
Kinda disappointed. Subra is the only shade I really like. Andromeda looks okay.
Can’t wait to see the dupes for callisto and dione. They are both beautiful, but I’m not into dropping $60 for only two eyeshadows. The price point is a bummer because this collection looks like it runs on the cool side, which are most flattering on my skin tone.
It’s too bad the dry swatches are so poor…I really wanted the shadow with my name! Hope your review is actually positive and it looks better on the eyes.
Uh oh…Well, it looks like my wallet might be surviving these ones – not too keen on the pigmentation of these dry =/
GASPING….Phoebe, Lysithea, Glove, Himalia, Subra, Dione and Calista are all looking to me like shadows I need to own so I’ll be eager to see the dupes and your reviews, Christine. Actually, a few of them look disappointing dry (which is how I prefer to use most shadows but also the yardstick for me of whether or not they’re good shadows) so maybe I won’t want them so much but already, I’m fearing dropping a small fortune on them. Heck, maybe Nars will follow Too Faced’s lead and not make these available in Canada, thus sparing me and my bank balance.
These look nice and I cannot wait to see them in stores. I really like Phoebe and Callisto!
Desdemona is calling me! :O
If a shadow is great i dont mind spending for it. If u dont want to spend 29 a shadow there is always mac which is amazing!! Inglot which i like, but these are higher end lines that charge more. personally Nars is in my top five fave brands. Mac, Nars, Chanel, DIor, YSL. all great brands
I love NARS shadows, but I like them intense dry as well, but 29.00 for one shadow is a bit extreme
I’m not interested in any of them (not for $29) but I like that they’re all named for mythological figures.
Europa and Lysthea!!! oh!! YES!!!
There goes all my money
Subra is much prettier than I expected.
These are pretty sheer dry, I’m a bit disappointed.
I just like the space themed names! !
Very disappointed. Even some of the wet swatches look sheer. I wonder what is going on with NARS these days. I used to love their eyeshadows so much, but recently the quality is really not there especially with every brand else stepping up in their games.
These look nice enough, but there is no way I’d be able to justify the price in the US let alone where I live. $30 is the price of a MAC eyeshadow here and I’m still hesitant about those, this would definitely bump up to the $50-$60 mark in Australia, which is a comparable price to a much bigger product such as an Hourglass powder or a NARS bronzer/blusher.
I need Callisto. Now!
i was screaming YESSSSSS when i saw all the swatches. I want them all!!!!!
Looks like a nice lineup of neutrals!
These look gorgeous!
OMG .. I need Phoebe & Callisto in my life
there are some gorgeous shades here
Oh man, Desdemona reminds me of Girly from Too Faced. I mean they’re clearly different but that deep reddish brown (leaning more red) with the duochrome is just gorgeous
I am sooooo excited for this release! Each one looks so pretty! 🙂
They look amazing, can’t wait to try them :))
OMG I’m dying over Cassiopeia and Phoebe. Not to mention my dog is named Phoebe, so I might or might not be getting it just for that.
Cassiopeia is calling to me but I’ll wait for the full reviews for that price point. I love colors with an ethereal feel.
I rather like the look of Callisto and Giove 🙂 Love the names for these, really! (Mind you, I love most NARS names, being a travel fanatic)
Hi Christine please reply, does the shade himalyia resemble mac whisper of guilt or kiko? It looks like it would be similar to those highlters can you check in your collection this color swatched next to the mac one and please let me know??? Thanks!
I don’t think it is similar to Whisper of Gilt, and I’m not sure what you mean by Kiko – I’m not familiar with that if it’s a MAC shade, and if you’re referring to the brand Kiko, I’ve never seen or used anything from them. Sorry!
