I’m going to be honest, eye shadows that require water (or a fixative spray) are too fussy for me. I have purchased them in the past and they sit in my drawers unused. I like color intensity to be there without going through the extra step of wetting the product. There is also the issue of a change in the consistency of the shadow in the pan after it is wet. It can form a hard layer, which needs to be scraped away. That is too wasteful in my opinion.

I totally agree. I’ve seen eyeshadows with an amazingly pigmented multi-dimensional shimmer finish for prices around 10 dollar (8 euro here). That’s much easier than ‘wet and dry’ eyeshadows. You won’t see me buying anything “baked” either. Not worth the fuss when there’s so much else available.

I don’t like how gimmicky this press release is. It’s just another eyeshadow line. Don’t most people apply wet eyeshadow to get more intensity already? They make it sound like an invention, haha. And it’s one way to sell a bad formula by calling it a sheer veil of colour when dry and intense when wet. Can’t wait for your reviews!

Carrie Avatar

I like that they were sort of honest though? It’s sheer dry, intense wet. I don’t feel like they tried to hide anything plus some people might want it sheer.

Ammara Avatar

Hmm. Yes, you’re right about that. Most brands just go for “intensely pigmented”. I think the reviews may not be bad then. But 30 dollars.

Honestly, these sound a lot like MAC’s Extra Dimension eyeshadows, Estee Lauder Gelees, and I know Laura Mercier did a couple of them as well… at least a blush. I’ll see when I try them, but that’s what they sounded and looked like in the promo. Reader @Ani_bee had the same thoughts! I’m also curious to see how much product is in it, but $29 is steep for one eyeshadow. We’re in Chanel territory.

I’ve been slightly obsessed with finding a great iridescent pink lately, may just have to check out Casseopeia. Can’t wait for the swatches/review! =)

The idea of the being sheer when used dry and intense when used wet reminds me of mineralized or baked eyeshadows. Though I’m cautious with any eyeshadow formula that uses the word “sheer.” Do you think you’ll be reviewing these when they become available Christine?

Mariella Avatar

Oh gee – just when I thought I might be at “eyeshadow saturation point”, along come these beauties. I really want at least half of them. I don’t know if I’m hoping that these will make their way to Sephora or that they won’t! That navy blue, some of those wine/browned burgundy and also the taupe and silvery shades….sigh….

Dione Avatar

Ooh, an eyeshadow named after ME! Spelled like how I spell my name too! I think I NEED it just for that:). When I was a kid I hated my name (love it now cause it’s unique), just because I wanted things with my name like all my common named friends.

Kristina Avatar

Hmmmmm, NARS current shadows are already able to be used wet or dry. I love NARS but I just hope these aren’t too shimmery wet or dry, my aging lids can’t take it anymore.

Tara Avatar

Not extremely excited about the eyeshadows, but the nail polish the model is wearing- that I can get excited about! Any ideas what might be on the model’s nails?

I’ve been waiting *months* for these to finally debut, and it looks like I’ll end up with all of them… Thank goodness they’re all permanent!

Are these worth it. I mean really? Tom ford quads are not as expensive. Nor ysl or any luxury brand That I own at least. Please someone explain why they are worth it?
