Makeup Geek Iconic Lipstick

There are 20 shades in the Makeup Geek Iconic Lipstick ($15.00 for 0.07 oz.) range. I’ll also have swatches of the Plush Lip Cremes today, but I won’t have swatches of the Plush Lip Mattes for at least a couple of days, at the earliest.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! These look wonderful — especially interested in Spoiled and Lively, and maybe Elegant. And Shy, but I *know* I have a gazillion dupes for Shy. Can’t wait to see the reviews.

Some of these look super pretty but….fifteen dollars? Marlena needs to re-evaluate and remember why she made this company in the first place. It certainly wasn’t to compete with Urban Decay and MAC-level pricing.

My thoughts exactly. Makeup Geek has been touted as “affordable” for so long but the recent highlighters and lipstick prices are going the opposite direction. Even as bad as customer service is, I’ll stick with ColourPop for an affordable brand.

These look better than MUG’s first lipsticks which were AWFUL. I’ll wait for the reviews before I buy these. I don’t know how I feel about the prices. She sure is getting proud of her line. =\

Offbeat looks great but I really hate these kinds of lip tubes. I have yet to figure out why I dislike them but I steer clear of them 🙁 weird the things we choose to like and dislike. Great colors though

These look beautiful! Can’t wait to see reviews! I am a little surprised their traditional lipsticks are more than their liquid lipsticks though, it’s usually the other way around. I hope they’re good!

Personally, I feel like if the formula is good and the colors are ones that I like then I don’t care if she charges $15 dollars. I guess I feel like if she is competitive with other brands and makes a good product then she should be able to charge a competitive rate. In general she charges a fair rate. I have lipsticks that I have paid $50 for and they aren’t particularly great lipsticks.
I really like Witty and Risqué. I am sure I have a ton of dupes for Risqué since it is in my go to color range!

Oh NO! I ordered Spoiled a couple days ago, but the swatch on the MUG site looked nothing like your swatch. In fact, it’s looking like most of the swatches on the MUG site are inaccurate. Darn it, I never would have ordered Spoiled if I had known.

I’m just not going to buy from Makeup Geek anymore. Their prices now are the same as MAC, except I can’t see or try the products beforehand and I can’t return. I’d like to support Marlena, but I can’t just throw away money like that.

So that made me go look at their swatches to see, and what is interesting is that the swatches for Spoiled on the arms (fair and dark) on the lipstick’s page are actually quite different than the lip swatch – closer to the swatch I have (on my arm and lips) – but the color of the lipstick in the tube seems off (more desaturated).
