So conflicted! Some of those swatches look great, and some look very patchy. I love the colors, though, especially Kitten Heel. I want to love it, but I’m not sure a $70 palette should have that many duds (that is, if the swatches are as inconsistent as they appear to my eyes).
I think Kitten Heel may be available as a single (I know it’s been in quite a few other palettes).
It is! Thanks for the tip, Xamyx! Here I was, wondering if I should buy a palette for one shade! :-p
Thanks, Xamyx! Risa, Kitten Heel is the only one I was coveting also.
Seems kinda hit and miss. It’ll be an easy pass for me.
Kitten heel looks like MAC expensive pink. One of my favorite shadows.
I was just thinking that I need to find a dupe for Kitten Heel, thank you!!
Disappointed. The shades are not what I was expecting. Good news is that you just saved me 68.00. I love Lancome’s five pan shadows, but this is a miss for me.
Lancome’s 5 pans are great!
Me thinks this will be another sheer affair… Luckily I was never really excited about this palette to begin with. Something about it screams “mature woman (who ought to know better) trying to be hip (but isn’t) and quirky (but never was) and seductive (errr…) at the same time” =p.
exactly how I feel ! lol
Ouch from one of the mature women 🙂
I do hope that is the only thing that fits me from your hillarious description. ;P
Me, too! ?
I second your ouch!! I find comfort knowing the wheel of time rolls over EVERYONE’S face and body eventually lol
Me thinks if you can see all that in an eyeshadow pallette you are pretty amazing. Seriously with the quirky (but never was)….so you read both PAST and present in a pallette? It’s like the hipster (wannabe but never was) version of tea leaves….
Hahahah!! You’re summation was pure genius. And I suspect–spot on!! In my VERY late 40’s I am a card carrying member of the ‘ladies of a certain age club.’ And I find myself so drawn to this palette!! Yet, your words have a ring of truth!! Oh well, I suspect I might wear shimmery MAC shadows into my seventies if possible!! 🙂
I really like the look of this palette (although a few shades look a bit too warm), bit it’s not a priority. If nothing else strikes me, and I can afford it, I’ll pick it up, but I won’t be going out of my way.
They only shade i really liked out of this was Kitten Heel. But Lancome Kitten Heel is also sold as a single so I’m tempted to get just that shade. But it also looks soo much like Sugarpill Kitten Parade as well. lol
I have used a lot of Lancome eyeshadow over the years and some of those shadows don’t look like my singles! My exhibition is darker, more burgundy, less shiny. Volcano a muddier, gray-brown. I swatched clock strikes 12 and it was a true dark gun metal gray. Carson’s didn’t have the palette yet so I haven’t seen it yet in person. I does look wonderful on line…
Most of them didn’t swatch very well, but I’m looking forward to seeing dupe lists for Zip Me Up, Volcano, Kitten Heel, Clock Strikes 12, and Nuit.
Your photos give this palette a more accurate depiction than the promos.. I can easily pass on this. I thought the shadows were ‘moodier’, more muted..more matte.
I was thinking the same… I’m kind of thinking about just getting both of the neutral L’Oréal palettes, and combined it would still be less than 1/2 the price, more shades, and a “smokier” vibe. Then again, I *should* just stop buying neutral palettes altogether, at least for a while (like that will ever happen, LOL!).
Well, that’s certainly not what I was expecting from Lisa Eldridge
Agree! 🙁
Not at all what I was expecting. Too bad i was excited, but I’ll reserve judgement till your review.
I’m looking forward to seeing a dupe list a heck of a lot more than this palette (need me a dupe for Kitten Heel, Nuit, and Zip Me Up!)
Some of these swatches look really beautiful.
I checked this out at Macy’s last week. It felt really dry to swatch and I was kind of shocked at the difference in texture between this and the Lancome 5 pans, or even between this and the new Jason Wu palette (which felt like butter). Stil, Iike the overall look of the palette and the few of the shades are quite nice. I do have to agree with other commenters that I expected more out of something Lisa Eldridge worked on!
Ah… not exactly what I was expecting. I’m crossing my fingers that the review will say “works better applied than swatched…”!
Thanks for the sneak peek! I’ve been stalking the blog for days!
I’m not in the market for any eyeshadow palette but I’ve always thought that Lancome is very underrated. I have two of their quads or maybe it’s quints ($49 a few years ago) and they’re great quality
omgsh!!! It’s so pretty! But that price tag! And the only ones I am excited for are Kitten heel and tenacity. Sad that tenacity isn’t a single. I’m pretty sure I’ll pass, but I can’t help but think that Kitten Heel looks a lot like orgasm by Nars..
My thoughts exactly. I’d love it as a blush, not sure about on the eyes though
Oooh, this looks really hit or miss, and at $ 68, there can’t be too many misses. I’m LOVING Kitten Heel, that looks like such a unique shade and could double as blush and highlighter. I see they sell as a single (YESSS!), will be on my must-buy list !
When I first saw this palette, I thought it looked like UD Naked 3 and Naked Smoky had a baby! And now it would also appear to have the same quality control issues of those as well? I guess only the actual review will tell for sure just what results you wind up getting as you work your way through this palette.
Not looking too great. This looks like one of this “It’s going to need help’ and for that price, that’s not fair. I was really hoping this was a bit more matte overall too. I like the colors though. But, I have colors already that need help. We will see how the review pans out. 🙂
I couldn’t wait. I bought it as soon as you mentioned it the other day.
I am fine with the look and colors so far. My complaint seems to be the case. It is bad. I am fighting to open it and that is a big problem.
I think some of these colors are very wearable for me! Really like the packaging which is always important LOL
I just received the new Audacity Lancome eye shadows. The colors are not highly pigmented and I used water to try to get the color. Although pretty to look at in the container, the palette is not worth $68. I am sooooooo disappointed!
I feel the same way. After using it for a few days, I’ve decided that it’s going back. Not worth $68 to keep dipping your brush into the shadows to gey some color payoff.
These are just my kind of colors. It’s a shame the palette’s so expensive for me! #conflicted #wouldgiveupalotofmyoldcrapmakeupforthispalette
I’m not impressed at all by this. Pity, I wanted it to be good. It’ll still be interesting to read the reviews though.
Eh, it’s looks like a mixed bag. Kitten Heel is the only one that strikes me as fabulous.
Actually this doesn’t look too bad – a couple of patchy matt ones, ( again a yucky black matt) but the rest seem reasonably good. I love the range of colours and this is meant for a sophisticated look. Love the Nuit colour. I shall await the reviews.
Some of those look terrible and others look great 🙁
I’d be curious to know how much of a hand Lisa eldridge had I’m this as the new creative director. Because to be honest, I would expect a lot more from her.
How I wished I was wrong – I could smell gimmick by looking at the promo, and there it is, a palette that’s way too easy to pass on!
The nicest shadow out of this entire pallet is kitten heel , which I already have haha
