Those are the best swatches I’ve seen. Mine is coming today. Can’t wait to play.
Let me know how you like yours, Coco!
That looks alright! 🙂
Not sure if all right is enough to merit a purchase!
The shades look really pretty! Looks like a great palette.
Fingers crossed!
Too purple for me, but I’m sure it will be a hit with others.
I wish there was more variation in the browns.
I have only read mixed reviews of KVD eyeshadows/palettes.. in fact of the whole line! Not sure if thats enough to splurge on these!
Some are nice, some aren’t 🙁
Pretty!
Glad ya liked it!
These are really pretty colors. Was the Innerstellar palette inspired by the movie Interstellar? That movie was incredible, by the way 😉
It is an interesting selection of shades!
As far as I know, the palette wasn’t inspired by the movie. Just a coincidence. 🙂
I was THIS close to purchasing this this morning, I’m going to pass on this one!
What made you decide to pass, Joanne? Curious minds want to know!
I just got this yesterday and when I opened it, it seemed kind of blah, but the swatches are nice and the tutorials I’ve seen pull off some interesting looks.
I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts once you try it on!
I agree it looks blah….my mac shadows in my zpalette cover all these shades with a quickness…very dupable. this is good for a high school girl who just got into make up. ill pass with quickness.
Phew! I’m glad these don’t impress me as much in swatches. On to the next thing! haha
Phew!
I’m torn on this one. I’m always happy to see a cooler toned palette as my daughter has a cool skin tone and I feel like the companies too often lean warm in their offerings these days. But I really hated the KVD holiday palette and this one seems….not exciting. I’m very curious to read your final review.
It is nice to see something cool-toned!
I want this!!!
Hopefully it performs!
This palette may just be backup-worthy! I very rarely buy backups, and never entire palettes, but I can see this being a go-to/everyday palette.
Have you bought it yet?
No, I’m not “Rouge”… According to the ” Find In Store” link on Sephora’s site, it *should* have been available at JCPenney/Sephora, but they didn’t have it when I stopped by on Sunday. Besides, it’s not really in the budget ATM, since I overspent for Christmas, LOL! I’ll probably wait until after the Holidays…
Gotcha 🙂
My local Sephora in JCP didn’t have it out, but I asked when they were going to get it and they grabbed one out of the back for me! I guess most have it they just aren’t putting them out until next week or something.
I asked at mine, as well, but no luck… They all know me there, and have gone out of their way to check on things in the past, so I think they may have been delivered in a shipment, but noone actually opened it yet.
From those swatches, seems like the texture is very smooth and easy to blend but still delivers good color payoff. I really hope I am right because this palette has a lot of nice shades, even I have already had so many blues, purples and cool-toned shades.
My full review should be up tomorrow!
I was bracing for another Gothika, but this actually looks good, if not very original in terms of shades.
Well, definitely can say nothing as bad as Gothika here, LOL!
Hm. I like that it has some cool-ish tones. But it still looks kinda sheer and chalky. I think after Studded Kiss and some of the other misses (like that horrid purple shade Gothica), I don’t trust the brand very much. The purples and the grays are nice colors, but I feel like the taupes and browns are all kinda samey (or at least not different enough).
I’m a lot more hesitant about this brand now, too!
The shadows are quite pretty, but the packaging is just so dull.
Monica.
Hopefully the eyeshadows are worth it in spite of the packaging!
Oh, I like those swatches a lot more than I thought I would… I still haven’t used my Rouge gift card, so this might be what I use it on…
My full review should be up tomorrow in case you want to wait 🙂
Awesome! It’s chilling in my cart while I wait =)
I’m also waiting to see if anything exciting comes up for their advent calendar mini code… it has not been thrilling so far.
I picked up this palette because it’s cool toned and there was purple. I skipped the holiday palette from KVD so hopefully I’ll love this one.
Enjoy your new palette!
Mine just came woohoo!!!! 😀
Let us know how you like it, Jennifer!
I’m liking it. I don’t have the other two palettes and this is my first time trying her eyeshadows. I do wish that maybe there was a dark brown. Or is the black shade was maybe brown black. I always have a dark brown single shadow in reach so no biggie 😀
I was seriously intrigued by this one and was tempted to buy it
Are you more or less tempted now?
The swatches are pretty: love the purple tones, but I’ll wait for a review. My wallet has to recover from Christmas shopping, anyway.
Poor, poor wallet!
Hmmmm…from the swatches looks like some of these shades might run a little dry. I think I’ll stick to the Monarch/Chrysalis palettes.
Here’s hoping it wears well!
Wow, very cool toned. I already have dupes for many of the shades, so will pass but curious how this one will review.
We shall see, we shall see 🙂
I feel like this is the only palette I’ve ever seen where I took one look at it and thought I NEED IT. So unless it gets a horrible review (which I don’t think it will, based on swatches) I’ll be getting my sweaty little mitts on this one ASAP 😀
Fingers crossed!
I feel tempted to buy it just for Darkstar and Crawler… LOVE
Aww!
Those are the 2 I absolutely *need* in my life, LOL! I think I can pretty much dupe the rest from my other KvD palettes alone, but those 2…
Well, it looks *decent* from the swatches, and the colours are nice together, but… I haven’t had to loosen my collar yet or anything 😉
Haha! We will see how it holds up!
Liking the look of this very much. Purples are the least represented of the eyeshadow shades I like which might be the perfect excuse to buy this.
I do like that they definitely went cool-toned!
I thought I didn’t need this and now your swatches have put it on my wishlist. my wallet weeps
My full review should be up tomorrow!
I like the idea of this, but the brown shades and the grey shades are just seem so similar! I’m also a little gun shy about Kat Von D after the Star Studded palette.
Better than the Studded, at least!
Hello Darkstar!
Seems to be one of the ones catching readers’ eyes!
I was thinking of getting this and using my VIB Rouge Reward Card but…when news of the new Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette broke…I got that instead. I will still get this, if it is still available on the next payday (12-19).
Hopefully it is!
Just saw the palette on Sephora and came “this close” to ordering. Then thought, hmm…maybe I should check some swatches online first. Christine, you never fail me. Thanks for posting swatches so quickly!
Loving Darkstar, but will wait for the full review.
No problem, Bonnie!
My two KVD butterfly palettes are my most favorite ever palettes so I couldn’t wait to get this one. Sephora is really on their game with the shipping l lately, and I got it in two days! My first impression is that it is beautiful and I can definitely make it work, but it’s not the same quality as the butterflies. The colors in those are SO intense and creamy and these are less pigmented and drier. That isn’t across the board but in general it is the case with these. I don’t think less pigmented is always bad because overly saturated colors can make you feel clownish if you’re not comfortable with lots of blending. I love the tone of the palette and can complete a look without reaching for something else so I appreciate that. My favorite color is the large pan on the top left. It has a beautiful iridescence! If you’re on the fence on this one because you prefer pigmented shadows I would pass and get the Chrysalis butterfly instead. If you like softer shadows in similar tones this may be a great choice for you, imo.
So lucky to get yours so quickly!
I bought this palette over the weekend and I’m so glad I did. I love it!
Yay!
A lot of these shades remind me of MAC’s Riff Raff palette from the Rocky Horror Picture Show collection
I can see the resemblance!
First thought was that it was a bit boring. Scrolling down to the swatches changed my mind, it looks interesting, I like the purpely theme in the palette,
Will be interesting to see what looks you come up with, Christine.
The looks were pretty blah 🙁
I’m truly impressed with this palette like I have been with no other! The colors are so gorgeous on, it’s… OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!
