Sneak Peek: Giorgio Armani Eye Tints Photos & Swatches
Giorgio Armani Eye Tints
Giorgio Armani Eye Tints ($38.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) are a new product for spring. The formula is available in twelve shades that range from shimmery neutrals to deeper blue and green. It’s described as a “fluid eyeshadow” with “deep and intense color” that dries down quickly with “no sticky feel or residue” and lasts for sixteen hours. We shall see about sixteen hours! For now, here’s a preview of eight of the twelve shades 🙂

Wow, these are really beautiful! I can’t even decide which shade I like the most! I hope they perform well!
Fingers crossed! I bought the other four shades, as they’re more neutral and expect for this type of formula, readers may want to see those more than say… Emeraude (though pretty to look at).
I have #7,#10, #2 and #8,#11 on order. The one’s that do have in possession….no primer necessary and on my oily lids…no creasing. Curious to read Christine’s review on these.
Onyx and Green Iron are calling my name but at that price (and more in Canada), I’ll probably stick with somewhat less pricey options….or not!
I fell over myself when I saw they were $38. The press release had them at $35 but online (including GA’s website) retailers were selling at $38. GA is one brand that consistently feels overpriced on a lot of things (not everything, but a lot). I wasn’t expecting a $20 price tag, but $30 would probably be more in line with expectations.
At the bay, these were priced at $39 (Canadian) each. Gorgeous colours but at the price point, it hurts my wallet LOL
$39 CDN isn’t bad when these are $38 US! Not that either is a happy price, lol!
It’s funny – some of the European luxury brands (Chanel, Clarins and Guerlain come to mind for me) cost about the same here as they do in the US or maybe a buck or 3 more, whereas Stila and some other companies have HUGE (10 dollars and more) price increases on their products here. Still, $39 is steep, especially when there’s L’Oreal Infallible, Maybelline Colour Tattoo and MAC Paint Pots (none in the tube/doefoot packaging but likely with similar results, I would think). I’ll be eager to see the reviews and maybe I’ll pick up one or two when we’re cruising in March.
Jenny, you saw them at the bay?!? Which one? The queen street location in Toronto told me last week the canadian release date was mid Feb! I’m dying to get my hands on onyx!
I saw them at the bay at yorkdale mall in Toronto. Apparently, I walked by the same day they put the brand new testers on display! =)
These look a lot nicer than I thought. They look thin enough that they might have minimal creasing.
We shall see 😀
Ohhh Jade *_*
They have some pretty colors!
I’m so eagerly waiting for these to hit the market in Turkey! Never saw such intense images as the ones you posted here before, especially that Obsidian looks goorge! But Shadow is the one I’m definitely gonna get, since getting my hands on Chanel Illusion D’ombre and NARS Dual Intensity lines last year, I’m all about mono shadows!
But the lighter and nude-ish colors were nicer, at least for me, will you be reviewing those as well? It would be great to see them here!
I think Shadow could be popular! A purple-y taupe-silver.
I did buy the four I’m missing, but they probably won’t be here for a week or longer.
Wow, Emeraude. That green is saying “RAAAWR!” Hahahaha So beautiful!
Haha!
These look really even and pigmented! Can’t wait to see how they perform on the eyes!
Emeraude seems promising with its coverage!
I’m so. in love with these and keep buying more. This is about my speed as far as eyeshadow goes these days. I just swipe a bit on my lid, blend with finger into lashline and then use a fluffy synthetic to quickly diffuse out. done. You can layer a bit heavier on lid for more of a shimmer. #10 and #7 are definitely total workhorses. Weirdly, seeing your swatches here, I’m lusting after the light teal too. Great product!
Nice! I’m presuming you’re also getting stellar, long-wear out of these, too, Wendy?
Absolutely no issues with wear whatsoever and I do not wear eye primer. I do not have oily lids though.
Green Iron is my favorite shade here! Can’t wait for your review. I might check it out later today when I am around a GA counter 🙂 As it is with every cream product out there, I hope it’ll stay on my oily monolids.
You’ll have to let us know if they hold up to your lids, Sunny!
I have a love hate relationship with liquid eyeshadow… I just know that if I have this in my stash it will just get lost and get burried under all my powder eyeshadow.
Awww!
Love Onyx! Too bad it doesn’t look as pigmented as the rest!
They’re very interesting so far!
Minuit is what it should be in Hourglass Graphite. Gahhhhh its so intense! I want everything except perhaps Jade
It is a richs hade!
Could we please have a Spring Santa? I am already writing him a letter that includes Obsidian, Minuit, Emeraude and Shadow!
Haha! If only!
Hi Chrstine – have you worn these? They’re beautiful but look very sparkly. Did you think they were easy to handle?
Reviews to come! 🙂
Yay! Been waiting to see your review of these!
Yay!
Oh, my, these look pretty! I’m especially interested in Minuit, Emeraude, Onyx, and Shadow.
Bold picks 😀
Oooooh super excited about these!! They look amazing – hope the reviews are good. I’ll be happy with a 12 hour wear, no expectations of 16. If I can get half a day without fading or creasing or needing a primer I’ll be over the moon.
Let’s hope we can get to 12 at least!
The colors look lovely, but I balk at paying $38 for a single shadow!
They are very pricey 🙁
Wow! These look amazing! Will be good to find out the wear time.
Monica.
I’m definitely curious to see how they work out!
Wow, that Onyx is gorgeous
It looks promising!
Ooooh. Expensive, but very pretty look! Hoping they wear as good as they look, because then it might be worth a splurge!
They are so pricey! I was surprised.
Some of these colors are so lovely! However, I’m never quite sure how to apply products like this. They seem better suited to a wash of the same color over the entire lid, rather than a blended look, which is what I prefer. I’m sure Christine will surprise me with a beautiful application!
I think it depends on the shade/color/technique more than anything else! I’ll be testing them at pretty much full opacity (well, the shade’s best payoff, whatever that may be), though for sure you could use them sheered out.
OMG these are absolutely gorgeous! Obsidian, Minuit, and Emeraude! Oh my! About to break the bank on this one!
Just one breaks the bank, lol!
i ordered seven or eight of these and haven’t had a chance to play with them yet-other than swatching on the back of my hand. i can’t wait for your review and to see what looks you come up with!
Awesome! I want to hear your thoughts once you try ’em!
i’m wearing a bunch of the eye tints today. i put rose ashes (11) on first and thought it was going to be a disaster. i was kicking myself for buying so many because this shade made my eyelids look like fish scales! not exactly what i was going for. fortunately, i proceeded to add more shades, and i really like the look. i used 11 on the inner corner, 9 and 12 (i think) on the middle lid and through crease and 4 in the outer corner/crease. i used 2 on the lower lash line and i lined my upper lid with 1. they have lasted all day with little fading (i used UDPP Eden). i was surprised how well they work as liner (i used wayne goss lip brush). i applied and blended with my finger, but i think i need to find a brush that will work will. (my inner corners looked less like fish scales the longer i had it on!)
These look gorgeous! I can’t wait to hear about their lasting power. In the reviews can you also cover if they blend out well.
Of course!
Cristine, these dry out matte or glossy? (I can see the shimmer/glitter but they dont look glossy) Do they dry out quickly?
They dry down, so they aren’t glossy when they dry. I have no idea if they would dry out quickly since I’ve only had mine for a week!
I think she meant “do they dry down quickly” 😉
OMG, I’m SO excited, can’t wait for the reviews! I have oily lids, and even if they last 10 hours, I would be thrilled. I don’t own any Armani, and this could be my first purchase. Onyx, Green Iron, and Shadow look so pretty. And maybe Obsidian too if it sticks well, no more panda eyes. I hope you can get Gold Ashes, too.
I did buy the four shades I don’t have, but they’re not due to arrive until late next week, so probably not for a bit!
Ooooooh they look so beautiful. I can’t even decide which one is my favorite!
If Emeraude was brighter, I think that would have been a favorite for me (personally), but I’m a fan of purple-y-taupe-ish shades like Shadow, too!
Emeraude, Onyx and Senso are the ones that apeal to me the most. I wonder if could use them as base for powder eyeshadows?
I suspect you probably could!
My bank account shall tremble, because I’m really loving these!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorites are Emeraude (04), Minuit (02), Green Iron (06) and Obsidian (01).
I definitely get dizzy looking at Emeraude (04).
Can’t wait for your in-depth review, Christine!
lol! These feel overpriced to me 🙁 I wish they were closer to $30.
#07 is definitely my kinda shade. It needs to come home with me! Here’s hoping these babies don’t crease like crazy…
*crosses fingers*
I need these in my life!
Are you a big fan of Giorgio Armani, Maja?
Wow these are very pigmented! I don’t know why I was expecting them to be sheer but the swatches look impressive. I might need the olive one
They swatched better than I anticipated!
In one of the few reviews I found on a retailer’s website, the reviewer actually complained that they were too intense. It made me happy, LOL!
I’m intrigued by the choice of the name of the shade (03), because JADE is known for its “green” color, although it also comes in shades of yellow, orange, white, grey, black and even violet.
Not blue (laughs).
lol!
Wow, that’s a lot of pigment! Was not expecting that! Recently, Sephora started putting Armani cosmetics on their website, so maybe we’ll be able to get BI points for these soon?
I saw! Was excited but didn’t see these yet!
I love it when you post these sneak peeks because I like to look at the swatches and try to guess your grade based on them. It’s a fun game!
So, how good are you at it? 😉
I always forget to subscribe to replies! Of course, I’m just going by swatches and don’t have nearly the info you do by really testing – so sometimes I’m right and sometimes I’m wrong! 🙂 I did think 06 would get the best rating – so far so good! I didn’t predict Emeraude would be as high as you rated it – so wrong there! I think other top contenders will be 02 and maybe 10 – who doesn’t love a bronzey-brown like that? But if I was right all the time, it wouldn’t be as fun!
lol! 🙂 It is more interesting to see than anything else, I think. I was impressed by Emeraude, though, because emerald greens are rarely great as powders, and then as a cream product… well, it can be hard to get truly opaque color out of those richer shades.
Wow these look absolutely gorgeous! I happened yo walk by an Armani counter yesterday and they had just put them out on display so I ended up getting #11 and #12, based on just swatching them in person. ; I’m curious about the wear time of these though. Can’t wait to see your review so I can figure out which other shades to avoid or to get LOL
LOL! Have you actually worn the two you picked up yet, Jenny? You should if you haven’t!!
I am wearing #12 gold ashes today as a sheer wash of colour. It appears to be the most sparkly shade with more glitter than the other shades, which have more of a shimmer to them. It is still gorgeous though, especially when it catches the light.
So far, it is holding up really well but I’m not holding my breath for the “16 hour wear time” xP
16 hours is sooooo long!
These are GORGEOUS but that price… If you look at the price for all 12 together, it is $456. That’s like buying a nearly $500 eyeshadow palette! Depending on how they wear, I might still feel inclined to pick up one or two. Looking forward to your reviews!
The price is really, really high (overpriced to me, but I find myself feeling that way often with GA, so it might just be a perception of GA being in line with Chanel/Dior when it’s really not).
This is going to be my road to perdition. The shades are beyond lovely, and I am a sucker for liquid or creamy eye shadows. Im slowly getting fed up with powders. Why are they so expensive! Agree with you, 32 would have sounded more appropiate. Sigh…. I want Senso and Onyx and Shadow and Obsidian and Cold Gold and the blue one. Okay, I want them all! Lol!
Green Iron and Senso looks great.
Woahhh, they look so good. But they seem messy to put on :\
I’m really liking the look of these! I hope they perform well because there are lots of colours there that I’d love to pick up, but only if they’re worth it, as in they don’t crease on my very oily eyelids. 😛
So! Many! Beautiful! Shades! Minuit (02) is calling my name. Hopefully they will perform nicely as MJB’s twinklepop shadow sticks and allow a bit more time to blend out darker shades before they settle for the rest of the day.
These are gorgeous! Thanks for the preview, Christine. Now I will try to be patient and wait for your review…
I’ve already fallen down the rabbit hole with these and am completely smitten. So far, I’ve just purchased one colour (#11 Rose Ashes), but there will be more. I’m curious to know your thoughts on all the other shades!
No matter how beautiful, there’s no way I’d pay $38 for a shadow. They’re out of their minds.
So pretty!!! Out of my current price range, but if I did splurge, I would be all over Shadow!!! Reminds me of a more intense version of Pug in Buxom’s stay don’t stray formula, which I adore!
Whoa baby! Emeraude! Love it!
I’ve been admiring these since they first came out but the price is hard to justify. Gonna wait to see how they review 🙂 Shadow will probably be my first.
They look great.
Emeraude! GAH! I MUST HAVE IT! I wonder if they’ll have a pink selection – a replacement for my long D/C Estee Lauder ‘Go Wink’ cream e/s in ‘Pink Wink’.
I’d want to use these as liners!
Well, the colors are just beyond stunning. I’m curious to see how they’ll perform. These kind of shadows usually crease on me.
These look GORGEOUS!! I think I need them no matter how long they last! LOL!
Can’t wait for your full review! I’ve been pretty excited since I first read about them, but I’m concerned about quality (intensity, ease of application, creasing) and at this price point, I’m not going to indulge with the risk of being disappointed!
I need a few of these! DAMN!
What gorgeous, beautiful colours. I love most of them – which is amazing for me. Minuit, Emeralde, Onyx, Green Iron and that Number 7 are just wonderful. Drool!
holy pigment batman!
Oh. Well that’s a nice surprise! I have absolutely 0 confidence in these kinds of products, but they actually look kind of nice! Now if only they can actually perform as well as they claim, my hope in these liquid-eyeshadow-in-a-tube products may be restored
Look forward to the review, these look so beautiful but super expensive.
If these hold true to the 16hr claim, then they might be worth the $39 CDN price tag for me! Working in my corporate job, I can sometimes have 16hr days during my “busy season”… to know my makeup is fully holding up and not fading after such days is pretty huge for me!
I’m loving Shadow, Emeraude, and Green Iron 🙂
Ooh, these look rather nice! I’m very interested to hear about two things: longevity and creasiness. I’m hoping they’ll do well, because I like the colours (especially Emeraud, Shadow and Minuit). I still think calling one of them ‘Flannel’ was kind of lame though, LOL!
Gosshh.. they look supremely gorgeous and super pigmented.. I gotta lay my hands on these.. 😛 😛
Looks like a copy of liquid lipsticks for eyes 😉
Woowwww! My mouth is open until NOW..
these are crazy ‘spensive! I like Shadow and Green Iron but I’m not sure these would be worth the moolah for me 🙁
