Sneak Peek: Dior Rouge Blush Swatches (x15) (2023 Reformulation)
Dior Rouge Blush ($45.00 for 0.22 oz.) was recently reformulated and relaunched with mostly new shades, though some shades returned. I didn’t purchase the ones that were returning since there were just so many new shades and already blew the budget with those! I figured if the new ones performed well, it’s likely the returning shades would be comparable and I have close-enough-swatches for those. Thankfully, the reformulation seems to have resulted in a comparable formula overall – nothing amiss yet. The brand describes the formula as:
Dior has reinvented Rouge Blush, the blush that enhances the cheeks with a long-wearing, healthy glow effect. Its intense couture color is available in 4 finishes: matte, satin, shimmer, and holographic. The blush’s formula is composed with 90%* natural-origin ingredients and infused with floral skincare ingredients. It maintains skin hydration and ensures comfort all day long. Its soft, lightweight texture is particularly silky and offers a second-skin feel. The range of Rouge Blush shades is inspired by the iconic Rouge Dior lipstick range — a spectrum of hues from pink to red with variations of coral, beige, and plum that illuminate the skin with a natural glow. The blush’s shade intensity is buildable to suit your desires for a natural or more pigmented finish.
I hope the “reformulation” of these isn’t as dreadful as the Rosy Glow reformulation is. There are some gorgeous shades here but they are very, very pricey (even if they are good) and the one cosmetic item I really don’t need is blush but still, Tutu, Rose Caprice, Opera and Osee have all caught my eye. If they are good, I might treat myself to one (mind you, with a massive car repair bill AND what we just forked out for the airfare to Japan…I may need to reign myself in a bit.
When are you going to Japan Mariella? It is a beautiful country – very clean, very picturesque too. My best friend and her husband have just visited there. Be aware that very few people speak English and that all the signs etc are in Japanese. They went on a coach tour, as it was their first time in the country and although a bit hectic, they loved it.
Our youngest and his wife live there – I guess it’s coming up to 2 years now – and we’re visiting in October. Fortunately, Matt speaks and reads Japanese (he’s been studying for 5 or more years) – even better than his wife, who is half Japanese! Matt is taking time off work to travel with us, which will ease things considerably in terms of language.
Ooh! Just had to take a look at Opera applied, and that’s a beautiful tone of plum! Even though my skin depth is somewhat darker than your’s and Christine’s, I know that even I’m going to have to use my stippling brush for it because it really is an intensely pigmented color that would suit all depths.
These do look a lot better than the Rosy Glow blushes and, fingers crossed, they turn out to be better too. I quite like the shade Tutu myself.
These look so much better than their own Backstage reformulation! Rose Montaigne, Grand Bal and Lady Dior are right up my street! Not all at once, but yeah, maybe just one for the near future. 😉
Christine, what is the lip color you are wearing in the cheek photos, particularly the one with the blush Panarea? So pretty!

Super pretty shades and the application looks excellent!
According to Door’s site, Tutu and Lady Dior (and Hologlam, of course) both have “holographic” finishes. Lol, what?
I guess in their mind silvery glittery bits = holographic. They definitely don’t give any iridescent/shift kind of thing.
Look bad to me except the last one, Opera. They don’t look as though they’ll be smooth and weakly pigmented (but some may prefer so as to not over do the cheeks).
