Sneak Peek: ColourPop Super Shock Cheek Photos & Swatches
ColourPop Super Shock Cheek
In February, ColourPop Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) released in twenty shades from peach to fuchsia. I haven’t had much time with these yet, so I don’t have any insight to share quite yet (I’m wrapping up testing NARS’ formula, then I’ll move on to this one!). Hopefully I can start posting a review for a shade or two later this week or next. 🙂 The formula is designed to be similar to the Super Shock Shadows, which means it is a firmer, cream-based product (no depotting!)–the brand does say that fingertips result in highest coverage, flat synthetic brushes have “more coverage” than duo fiber brushes, which will have “sheer, air brushed” coverage. All of these have already been added to the Swatch Gallery for easy comparisons.

I really like the look of Swift, Quarters and Beneath the Sheets! Can’t wait to read your thoughts on these, Christine. Any favorites so far?
I haven’t tried many, sorry! I just tried to get swatches/photos up ASAP, but I haven’t even applied the majority of them for face swatches yet.
I am so excited to see all the swatches. They released so many shades that, just like with the eyeshadows, it’s hard to decide what to pick! Looking forward to your reviews, I hope they perform well and that they are long lasting!
At least they’re all permanent so there’s no rush!
So many pretty colors! Especially loving Cheerio, Prenup, Birthday Suit, Aphrodisiac…
There is a good variety of hues!
No surprise, I like neutrals: Between the Sheets and Aphrodisiac.. not sure about the swatch on Aphrodisiac tho.. I declined to jump on these until I saw the NARS swatches and reviews. I will happily wait for the reviews.
Let’s hope they are better than NARS’ new blush!
I want them all lol
Uh oh!
Be still my heart. Thank goodness they’re only $8….! So many pretties!!
That is an upside!
Yeah, pretty much flipping for these. Can’t wait for a review or two.
Hope they’re good!
Some of these look amazing! Looking forward to the full reviews!
Me too! Looking forward to trying them out.
Ooh, Trickery and Between the Sheets!
Neat shades!
Oh, I’m already craving Early Bird and Thumper!
Lots of tempting hues!
Pie and Home, for all your retina-searing needs. 😀
I see some wonderful pale and bubblegum-y pinks I might have to grab. I wish they had a straight-up lavender.
Yes! Some very bright shades!
Oh, I’m happy you are going to be reviewing these! There are definitely a few that have caught my eye, so I’m curious to see how they perform!
Me too!
Gorgeous colors, I would buy them all (except Swift). Unfortunately they don’t ship to germany (yet?). I would also use some as eyeshadows :). I’m looking forward to read your reviews <3
Hopefully they expand to Europe soon!
Looks like I need Swift, Tonic, and Quarters!
Here’s hoping they work well!
So excited that you’re reviewing these! I’ve been lemming Prenup and Pegacorn since I noticed them on the website, but now I’m interested in Holiday and Birthday too. Mochi looks great, but I have my pale cool pink bases covered. 🙂
Looking forward to seeing how they hold up!
I’ve been waiting for these to be reviewed! I’ve been looking for something to replace my Tarte blushes with, as I am not happy with Tarte increasing the price/downsizing the product amount. Hopefully these blushes are as great their eye shadows!
Sorry! Wish I could have had something up for you sooner, but I just got my order!
No rush, but I’m definitely looking forward to reading what you think! 😀
Can’t wait for a review!
I’m looking forward to seeing how they perform!
These look amazing… there goes my wallet.
Hopefully they perform well!
I have Prenup and Birthday Suit. They’re beautiful and every bit as good as their shadows!
Awesome to hear! How are you applying these blushes, Jean?
I tried applying it with a stipple brush and I wasn’t getting good color payoff so I switched to using my index and middle finger to pat it on then I blended it out with my Beauty Blender.
Thank you!
I ordered Fruit Stand and Toxic when they were first released. I’m not sure how I feel about them yet because of the texture. I have to find the best way to apply them.
What have you tried for application so far, Danielle? 🙂
I tried my fingers and a blush brush. It got clownish quickly. I need to pick up a duo fiber brush to see if its more subtle. The pigmentation is definitely there. I just don’t want to overdo.
Oops I meant I ordered Tonic not Toxic. Got Britney on the brain, lol.
🙂
Some of these are SO pretty. I’m very pale with dark hair and eyes and was recently considering purchasing some of the lighter shades in the Makeup Geek range, so I’m interested to see how they compare with these!
Ooh, that’ll be an interesting comparison!
I was crossing my fingers for one true purple in this lineup, but no such luck! I had hope for Pegacorn and Homie, but they both look more pink than purple. You’d think that a company that makes mint and aqua lipsticks could have come up with a lavender or violet blush…
I was surprised not to see one in their launch!
I am not 100% sure if they cannot be depotted. I dont own any of the blushes (yet! Lol) but on my eecent order a few weeks again I received an eyeshadow that was broken; it had the shattered crumbly look but I saw part of a silver pan in the white casing. I might experiment and see if its depottable
They’re a cream product, so if you remove them from their air tight container, they’ll dry out – that’s why you can’t depot them! 🙂
oh right. LOL. silly me.
Not to worry! It’s a formula that is cream… but not your traditional cream so it is easily mistaken for powder!
Don’t depot them! They’re in a deep case for a reason, so you can really close them air tight! They’re such a unique texture that air dries them out, they suggest you close the products as soon as your done applying them and always close them up good and tight! I know they’re kind of clunky in all the small pots but better to have a special bin for them then have all your pretty blushes and eyeshadows dry up on you
Even though thwy look really different in the pan and when swatched, i feel like all blushes within a certain color (all blushes within the purple category or within the cool toned pink category) look the same actually ON even though two cool pink blushes could look different in the pan they look the same on the cheeks and give the exact same effect. Thats why i kind of hate blushes
Definitely true with blushes! I think nuances in undertones can be more apparent than you think, but it’ll depend on how warm/cool you are.
Oh no, I love about half of these. At least they’re only $8 so I won’t feel guilty if I go a little crazy. 😉 Can’t wait to read your reviews!
True 🙂
The ones I seem to like if Clutch, Fox, Holiday, and Trickery.
Not bad! 3 of 20 is easier on the wallet!
Also like Fruit Stand but really no one need 20 blushes so you might a well pick one that would suit your skin tone. 😉
So that’s 25% of the blushes at 5. lol
I’m also glad that they are larger than the eyeshadows at the $8 a pop. Not that I wouldn’t mind them being smaller.
Hooray! I am so happy you got all of them! I was going to order one or two to try and narrowed my selections down to 12! haha! I love all of them! I am honestly kinda jealous you have them all . I hope they do well. Because at $8 a piece and permanent status, I may wind up with all too! Way to go ColourPop and congrats on this awesome haul Christine! Your beautiful cheeks getting a workout!:D
Did you get them or did you just narrow down your future order? 😉
I couldn’t decide..So, I just put them in my cart and hoped you would review. If not I was going to order one or two eventually and the Rebound and Shaan XO collections which have been waiting for me,lol. Those shadows though are so cluttering my space since I am dragging on getting my organizing together still (such a chore!). But, you must be a mind reader! Can’t wait for your reviews! My blush drawer has room!
LOL! I have all the Super Shock Shadows in a clear bin right now, have to figure out a better storage option since though cheap, they release a lot of shades!
I know! It’s hard to Not get so many because they are so affordable and great quality too mostly. But, I ordered so many shadows and have mine in a big Zip lock baggie in my shadows drawer. But I guess because of all the “work” it takes to get to them with the lids and baggie,I tend not to go for them too much because I am usually rushing.I would like to make a big magnet board or a drawer or something where you can actually see the colors and just pop it off or grab it. i am not a crafty gal and am single. So that type of handy work takes forever to get done!
I love the color variety they offer. It looks like anyone should be able to find one for their skin tone.
I think it’s awesome that they did a good range of softer/brighter shades!
One thing I was hoping from beauty in 2015 was more color options for women of color. Seeing these make me so proud of this company! Now if a company can do that with base products! Fingers crossed for diversity! Excellent! 🙂
My no-buy ended and I have a long list of Colour Pop stuff to order but I shall wait until you’ve reviewed some of these because they look so promising!
I really hope they’re good!
OMG these look amazing! I seriously need to go pick up one of these now! I love the “Clutch”! so pretty!
Here’s hoping they’re good!
Duo fiber brushes are perfect with this formula. It applies it in a sheer, buildable, perfectly blended layer.
I have aphrodisiac and I’ve been using it as a contour and it’s amazing!
Which brush are you using with it, Lacie?
Mac 187 Duo Fibre brush!
Thanks, Lacie!
ooooh i honestly love all of these
Yay!
Wow, these are beautiful! I wonder how they perform.
Me too! Super curious.
Bonus and thumper are so cute!
They are pretty!
pretty! i picked up Cheerio and Holiday already but judging from your swatches i’ll have to go back for Fruit Stand and Fox
Fruit Stand is so bright!
I am so looking forward to your reviews of these. If the blushes are anywhere near as nice as the eye shadows, they’ll have another winner. 🙂
Let’s hope so!!
What an amazing array of colours – I think there is something here for everyone..
I think so!
Hi,
I heard here and there about this new brand, where does it come from anyway?
Please read their website – they have lots of information under about us, FAQ, etc.
These are awesome so beautiful and pigmented and affordable can’t go wrong I looove them !
Let’s hope so!
Hi Christine, with these blushes are you finding that they are hard to apply? What type of brush are you using to apply these?
Hi Maria,
As I mentioned in the post, I just got these!
I know we’re so anxious for you to try them all! lol So far I purchased Homie, Pie, Pegacorn, Mochi, Fruit Stand and Holiday. I’ve tried Holiday and Mochi and they are beautiful. The only problem is you have to watch how to apply these because you can end up looking like a clown, lol. I over did Mochi and end up with two very bright cheeks! One thing about these is they are very long lasting – I’d say about 6 to 8 hrs.
Most of these don’t really “speak” to me. I like blush to look a bit natural (and there’s a wide range of reds, pinks, corals, etc. that can be considered natural). Many of the Colour Pop blushes look like costume makeup to me or are just way too flat and one-dimensional.
I realize I’m perhaps in the minority but I did purchase about a dozen of the Colour Pop lipstix and found most were way too white-based so that they looked way too bright to be flattering. I think it’s a function of how the company mixes its products. It looks like the blushes suffer from a similar one-tone type thing. Just not my thing, I guess.
That’s too bad, Di! Onto the next thing 🙂
All of the colors I ordered turn out the same – simply red checks with unevenly applied blush:( I even have one blush unpacked as I have doubts in it. Either I have reaction on it, or it’s not good…
Which shades did you get, Mina? I could see some of the shades looking similar applied.
It’s really strange that they look the same – it’s holiday, prenup and early bird. I have really fair skin and try to apply blush really lightly. But I can see on your swatches that many of them have the same red color base – they look really different in the tube but turn out really close on skin.
I could see Prenup and Early Bird looking a bit similar on, though the finish is different (but I’m not sure how noticeable the finishes will be on the skin), though I’m surprised Holiday looks the same on your skin!
If it’s not the blush, it could be your skin chemistry. If I don’t wear foundation or BB cream, I oxidize and acidify a lot blushes to the same orange-red color.
I also find it helps to clean brushes after every use, as the colors get muddled together in the bristles.
Yes, I have this issue with some blushes(tarte, nyx, now colourpop), I wear powder foundation and it helps a bit, but even with liquid foundation still all of them turn out quite the same with this red base. And I’m quite sure it’s not an allergy because when I wipe them off my skin is not red or irritated. Still figuring out what is the problem.
I hope you figure it out. It can be frustrating.
ColourPop wants me to go broke! I want them all!!!
lol! They do release a lot of stuff!
Wow! These look gorgeous. I was so tempted to get a couple with my last order, but I decided to wait for reviews. They look good, though. 🙂
I really want these to be good, but I’m so nervous, lol! Too many flops after hits lately.
Thank you for risking the flops for us. You save me a lot of $ and stress.
WOW. So many great shades and a nice variety too! Looking fwd to your reviews. I might have to do my first ColourPop order sometime soon. 🙂
Here’s hoping these are as good as they are pretty!
When I first heard some of the shade names, I was immediately disappointed that Pegacorn is not named “Alicorn” instead! The ColourPop team needs to watch more “My Little Pony” :p
So pretty! Idk if I’m late to the party with Colourpop but does anyone know where their products are distributed?
I already have Fruit Stand, Tonic, and Homie in my cart. May add Cheerio too as per your swatches. I’ll wait until your final review, though! I have developed a serious problem for bright blush. My last trip to Sephora was kinda disappointing because I didn’t come across any nice vivids that really grabbed me (within my budget!).
I’m kind of nervous about this formula, though. It’s cream-to-powder, right? I’m not sure if it’ll be good on oily skin??? Must look that up.
Wow, that’s quite a range of colors! I like to apply makeup with my fingers, so these could be great for me. I really need to make a Colour Pop order soon!
My wallet cries. I want them all.
I have been waiting for this post. Cannot wait for your review. Already ordered two – one matte and one satin.
I bought Aphrodisiac and Quarters. Loving the formula, it’s very long lasting and blendable. I was hoping to use Aphrodisiac as a contour but it has a slight sheen, unfortunately. I’ll definitely be ordering more though!
I bought several and your swatches convinced me I need several more. LOL! I think I need Prenup and Birthday Suit.
Wow so many comments already! I feel late to the party! 😀
Looking at these swatches I feel like I can hear angels singing! I have lots on my wish list: Between the Sheets, Cheerio, Fruit Stand, Pegacorn, Early Bird, Fox, Bonus & Tonic. I’m an absolute sucker for blushes! Can’t wait to see the ratings & dupes (I likely have a few 😛 )
These look pretty nice!
I am at work making a list of all the ones that interested me. lol I have Early Bird, Fruit Stand, Quarters, Bonus, and Between the Sheets on my list. I can’t wait to see your review on these!
It’s nice to see some true mattes — seems like they’re getting harder and harder to find in blushes. I’m intrigued by aphrodisiac, but it looks like a shimmer finish. Bummer. I wish I hadn’t gone on a very deliberate wipe-the-slate-clean and get-every-every-color-I-might-need blush buying spree a couple months ago; now I can’t justify getting any of these.
Still, Aphrodisiac is really intriguing …
want.’em.all – too much prettiness!
Wow these looks great! I really like Prenup and Holiday, hopefully they perform well!
I am loving the bright colors!
They look so pretty all lined up. Looking forward to the full reviews. You’re awesome for reviewing so many! 🙂
Oh Wow, they all look so pretty i want them all,. So glad they started shipping to Australia, now to just wait for the exchange rate to not suck so much, oh and choose which ones i want!
Wow they have such a big range of shades and they all look absolutely beautiful.
Bonus looks like an absolutely beautiful colour
xx
I have to try these. I see a few shades that would be amazing on my skin tone.
I got Holiday when they came out, I really like it but it’s the first blush I’ve ever had so I can’t really compare it to anything. I like to use my fingers to apply it and blend it out.
Oh wow, these look fantastic! If you can’t find your perfect shade in this range I don’t know anymore 🙂
I’m interested to see how these wear and how they look applied instead of swatches. I’m new to blush and prefer it really really subtle thus far. That and my pale skin means some of these swatches are very bold and scary to me haha. But I know blush never seems to wear as severe as it swatches so will await further reviews. Thanks Christine for getting the sneak peek out.
Omg I love all of them no matter what! I simply want to arrange them on my desk and just look at them every single day. So glad they are just $8 for each, I won’t be crying when I get the bill.
For some reason clutch is really popping out at me, I also like trickery
Christine, you have the best swatch gallery for these blushes! It is gorgeous to look at and you have all the colors. I keep coming back to this review and keep changing my mind as to what color to pick. I am currently obsessing over Fox and Prenup. Which shades would you recommend for a light skin tone with a tentency to lean towards light medium?
Gah want.all.of.them. I wish shipping to Canada was more reasonable:( But then again…that aside, nothing can save us from the reality that is the HORRID EXCHANGE RATE right now!!
I got Prenup, Mochi, and Pegacorn! Only tried Prenup so far and it’s a really nice essential color. I still have to figure out a favorite way to apply these, though. The texture’s not what I’m used to as I’ve only ever used powder blushes.
Swift and Tonic look like must haves!
Please review soon!! I’ve literally been holding out on buying these, just waiting for your review first lol I need to know what you think before I buy anything!!
Do you think Trickery (or some other shade) might work as a cheek highlight??
Loving Trickery and Between the Sheets! Aphrodisiac is sure to be a popular colour. x
YAY!!!! I found it! 😀 you DID do it like with MUFE, in a row. Thank you! 😀 it’s also great to see you reviewing perfumes! A+++! So well done! I’m so happy how well this is going for you! Cheek fun time! 😀
Glad you found it, Lotus! 🙂
